I'm kinda weirded out that they have like 500 Street Fighter universe characters and they opted to go for Fatal Fury characters instead. Not even as fan service late in the game's life, but in season 2. I know the SNK titles are/were way bigger in central and south America, so maybe that's the play? Lost people are obviously aware of them in NA and Europe, but they aren't exactly a big draw.

I didn't really like that they went for Terry, but the character looks pretty cool to me. Maybe a little slow, but that could be a stylized thing for the video. After all, Ken and Rashid don't look that fast, but in reality they can be in your grill in a millisecond. Either way, they did a good job of porting him to SF6's world.

its quite close to how he moves in the new fatal fury game. and the brown jacket outfit is his "hungry wolf" look from it.

I love that 3D modelers are ignoring anatomy to own the chuds. It looks like she doesn't even have an ass.

tight ass and thick thighs. im kinda tired of all the huge asses anyways...

Nothing wrong with a slim and toned ass, but that in-game 3D model has zero gluteus muscle. Just look at how the left leg is bent at the hip.
its just in the squat positions, standing looks fine. could be tweaked and updated.

Gonna be interesting to see how Elena's healing mechanic works. I have a feeling it'll either be pointless or overpowered AF.

Do we have the whole Street Fighter II roster and original costumes yet?

Depends on whether you're including the bosses and Super characters or not. The original 8 World Warriors are all there. Bison is the only boss so far, but rumors suggest Sagat is coming soon. Cammy and Dee Jay are both there from the Super cast. Lily is basically a replacement for T. Hawk, so that only leaves Fei Long of those 4 characters.

Yeah i'm that guy, i'm annoyed I am still waiting on Sagat. Pretty much stopped playing after first few months waiting on the rumors. Just never have understood why he gets relegated.

No shame in that. If they were to abandon Gief (without a suitable replacement) I'd probably bypass the game entirely. Sagat's pretty unique and he's been in the series since Street Fighter 1.
The way the meta has developed in SF6, I can see him being pretty strong. All of the Shotos are wrecking shop and someone who can control distance should be effective.

The whole drive rush mechanic is annoying. I hate how modern fighting games have so many fucking mechanics now. It's ridiculous. Can we just get back to basics with updated graphics, rollback netcode, fun and interesting character design, and plenty of unlocks/costumes/stages?

One of the other things they're doing along with Elena is a big overhaul patch. They're making tweaks and balance changes to all of the characters, requiring perfect parries to be accompanied by a directional input, and rewarding players who throw tech with drive gauge. Those are the 3 currently known changes.

It'll be interesting if they do anything with drive rushes or not. If you watch SF6 footage at the highest and the lowest levels, that's still the dominant mechanic. Allowing everyone to blast across the screen at hyper speed is kinda ridiculous. Especially the characters that can do it after cancelling long/low normals. Fighting games are all about guessing games, but SF6 applies them to nearly every scenario. Things never really settle down. That said, Tekken 8 kinda does the same thing with the heat system. Tekken 7 felt excessively passive, so I get trying to pivot a little there. SF5 was pure rushdown aggression and SF6 doubles down on it.

I think fighting games have way too many mechanics now. I'm all for a super and ultimate, spend bar for ex moves, etc. I just hate drive rush and all the other mechanics I have to remember.

I don't disagree. There's a LOT tied to that drive bar, too. Drive impact, drive rush, parries, overdrive moves (EX moves), and drive reversal (alpha counters). You even have to pay attention to yours and your opponent's at the same time. Mismanage things and you're in burnout, which is a scary place to be. Luckily the super gauge is only for supers, so at least that's pretty easy to manage at a glance.
A good chunk of SF6's gameplay is managing resources at a breakneck pace.

Yes it is why I lost interest in fighting games. SF4 was the last one me and my friends played consistently.
Street Fighter 2was the last game me and my friends played together. On arcade. In 1991. You needed to put your quarters on the dash of the screen to wait in line. Winner stays. Dominate with Ken or Ryu with the fierce punch uppercut combos lol

I'm a die-hard old timer that was even there for the dumpster fire that was Street Fighter 1. They pretty much all have some redeeming qualities, although the first game in every new Street Fighter series tends to be bare bones and broken. The later versions of SF4 are pretty tough to beat, though. Tons of characters, a variety of skill mechanics, good balance (more or less), and still easy to pick up. SF5 launched as a horrible mess, but eventually got to be good in its own right. It was maybe too little, too late though. With the repeated DLC versions and "seasons" it's actually hard to buy a feature complete version of SF5. Last I checked, you had to buy SF5 "Champion Edition" and then buy the last couple season packs on top of that. Even then you're still missing a bunch of stages.
