Well, I picked up L4D and UT3, but...

... goddamn are those games DL'ing slow, I bet steam's servers are getting hammered atm :p

I pickup Stalker last weekend and Bioshock today. By offering great games through digital distribution at reasonable prices, Steam really is fighting pc game piracy.
 
I heard UT3 kinda sucked, but for $10 who cares.. I'll put it in the queue tonight I think. 8)

I see they have everyone's favorite, Spore. Does the Steam version still have the annoying DRM that was one of the main reasons the game tanked so badly?
 
I enjoyed UT3 quite alot. One of the main reasons I bought the UT package, actually.

I agree, steam is doing amazingly well in fighting piracy, i havent pirated a game in a couple months thanks to steam and their good prices :D

Will any of those games work well on a 6800 GT card? :eek: Before you laugh, hey, at least it's PCI-e. :D

Heck yes. Then after playing Portal there are two large map packs that are worth playing, both have a plot that takes place before Portal. :D

Portal: The Flash Version - Combines story elements from Portal with new challenges taken from the original flash based game, ported over to the source engine by one of the original developers. I found this to be more fun than Portal and it has longer gameplay too.

Portal: Prelude - Another Portal story that takes place back when all of the test subjects were monitored by real Aperture Science employees.
 
Man I want Bioshock but cant get it due to region restriction :(.

Im considering about picking up CS Source though.

No, there's no SecuROM on the EA games that just went up a week or two ago. Older stuff like Crysis still has it.

Spore didn't exactly tank though, it's still one of the best-selling games of 08 for the PC.
 
Thanks a bunch OP! Just bought audiosurf, bioshock, doom, doom 2, gta vice city, Heavy weapon deluxe, portal, reaxxion, and tf2 for a total of ~37 bucks! Great deals indeed!
 
Holy shit, Im gonna spend a ton on these cheap games. Bioshock for 5 bux!!!

Bioshock, doom1 and 2, the orange box, and l4d all for $75 bucks. I think this is the first time in at least a good few years Im actually paying for games instead of pirating them. Hopefully steam can keep the good prices and I betcha piracy rates will drop at least a small amount.
 
Man, I haven't even gotten to STALKER yet from when it was $5 and now i've got bioshock to play!

And I can't download any of it yet until next month thanks to comcast's 250 gig bs. :(

BTW, anyone else find it funny that UT 2004 is still more expensive than UT3?? What does that tell you?
 
Who here has played X2 or X3? I'm trying to decide if I want the X2/X3 package or just get one or the other...
 
Bought both 99 cent Doom classics. L4D good but still looking for it a little bit cheaper.

I was gonna post if it wasn't already; I'm literally shaking from all the sales. I love Steam to begin with and now these sales... I can finally get Civ IV with all x-pacs for $25 (and gift one of the x-pacs to a friend). For those of you that don't yet have it, don't forget to pick up Audiosurf for $5 - it includes the Orange Soundtrack AND is an awesome game to boot. I'm definitely going to get a few copies for friends and introduce them to Steam platform. Goodness, this sale is hot!

For sure, I could have easily stumbled upon the games i purchased today/ a couple days ago, but at these prices there is no reason at all not to purchase them!
 
Just bought Bioshock. Heck, for that price I'll just wait and download later on whatever gaming box I decide to use.
