Speaker and Headphone Rigs Picture Thread

I finally rearranged my living room and moved some audio stuff into place. Notice the decadent $20 Home Depot stand I put together today.

I'm guessing that door either goes to your inlaws house or a sliders wormhole...best to cover it up with a nice big TV... lolol

That is a ridiculously small room for the swans

That's the glory of it all - if or when they decide to move to a bigger place, they got it covered. Until then, I'm sure they keep the volume at a reasonable level and don't mind the stuff that self-proclaimed audiophiles would complain about in that setup.

Auzuntech Bravia 7.1 S/PDIF / Onkyo TX805 / B&W DM602 S1 / OPPO DV980H / Sennheser HD515 / HP ZR30w and an empty bottle of tire....I need more light or an SLR ;)

picked up my first pair of really nice cans today Denon AH-D5000's and Headroom's Micro DAC and Amp combination ... currently all hooked up to my Mac Mini and the experience is amazing <3

Not at all.. probably an ideal sized room really. Can go to reference levels without distorting. People grossly overestimate how well a speaker is really filling a room, its like how people think bose sounds loud so it sounds good, but in reality theyre distorting like crazy. $10,000 speakers do the same when placed in too big of a room, they begin to distort and lose their cool, becoming way less clear and harsh. They just arent designed to handle it until you have very efficient drivers and lots of them.

awesome setups

Frank,

Nice audio set up you have there. If you don't mind me asking, does the subwoofer of your Klipsch HD 500 hum when there is no signal being fed to it or when it is in standby? I used to have this same set that I bought from Newegg and ended up returning it because I could hear the subwoofer humming big time when the room was quiet. It just drove me nuts. I thought that it was a ground loop problem but nope, I did all the checks that I could find on the web and the humming was still there. The weirdest thing was my brother-in-law also has the same set that he bought from Best Buy and guess what, his sub hums, too. Therefore, I wonder if either my brother-in-law and I are unlucky with our sets or that the humming is a problem inherent to the design of the HD 500 subwoofer. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Lots of desktop real estate... check
Isolated KRK monitors... check
AKG 'phones... check

Awesome little keyboard... check

My friend, you have good taste in fun stuff! :D

My grado SR225i's and AKG-Q701's are missing from these photos... they're hanging out in my living room on the entertainment system in there. :)

This is not the final product... I still need to change a few things and do some room treatments... sound diffusers, foam, all that good stuff. :)
