Hi. i have been downloading mods from the nexus website and also use there nexus mod manager to organise and load my mods.
However, now with this steam works thing, how does it work now? If i launch skryim directly from steam and not mod manager, does it still load up all my mods?
One thing i did try was to download some mods using steam works and launch the nexus mod manager. The Mod Manager did not display any of the mods from steamworks?
Does this mean i may potentially have to re-download all of the mods from steamworks in order for it to launch skyrim with the mods i used before? Or vice versa, re-download all the steamwork mods from nexus in order to launch skyrim with steamwork mods from nexus manager?
How do you run SKSE mod from steam? That is needed for the SkyUI mod.
Thanks in advance and have a nice valentines day with your missus
I'm avoiding the Steam workshop entirely. I much prefer Nexus and the Mod Manager.
SW is a cludgy PoS compared to the Nexus/NMM combo. If I find new stuff on SW, I usually look it up on the Nexus.![]()

Exactly.
Couldn't care less about SW. I have no intentions of using it.
Yes, 5 would definitely be noticeable.
I took some comparison pictures while I was playing with the values yesterday. I think this is what the DoF looks like with the values I posted:

*This is on v3.2.
I'm getting some really bright, intense fog over streams. Anyone else find that?
I'm using RL too, and love it quite a bit!, but am curious about this DoF shenanigans.... What in this sample picture is being effected exactly? The mountains in the back?

You mean the bright bluish fog at night, right?
Pretty sure it's your Dragon Warrior Effects mod.
I got the same thing using ENB Series.
I'm using Realistic Lighting (3.31) with no post-processing injector and don't have it any more.
I've disabled Dragon Warrior Effects and I'm using RL 3.3.1 and FXAA (only for sharpening.) It's during the day, right above this stream outside of Whiterun.

Whoa, that's nuts! Gotta be some combination of your mods not working together nicely.
Maybe try BOSS to reorder your mods?

Has anyone seen any mods which do or plan to rework the stats on gear? They are sooo incredibly boring
All i get on my mage is mana regen. That's it. Just stack mana regen until i have enough to cast everything i want. Wish there was some spell damage, or various other effects. But there's really not anything to it.
The Deadly Dragons mod also adds some new, interesting gear that is obtained by new drops from the dragons that you then can use to craft it. It feels balanced to me, as you have to kill quite a few dragons to craft it all, and the dragons are much more challenging as well so you definitely earn it.
I have Deadly Dragons set to hard mode at the moment but due to good gear & powerful spells, I may need to kick it up to hardcore. I am playing the game on normal but I felt that going any higher was too much when I'm using PISE as well. I need a few more cloth drops & I'll have the Vengeful set.

I'm not entirely sure which gear you're talking about. Are there actually different stats introduced on these items?
Because i'm using all these different skills, robe enchants are really lackluster. I don't want 17% reduced magicka cost to one of my schools when i'm using 5. I'd much prefer magic damage or the ability to have resist + magic regen on robes, or maybe spell crit or better yet, health + magicka regen.
I've got Wars in Skyrim, PISE, and Deadly Dragons on Normal difficulty, but playing on Master. Dragon fights are a real bear, and to beat the end boss of most dungeons i have to use everything i have at my disposal. Though sometimes i'll come across an NPC which just is impossible to kill, yet bandits i one-shot. Pretty wonky balance atm, but at least there are still challenges.
Why not use the Archmage robes? It is unique in that you can also wear a circlet (I like the Mage circlet) or mask.
They also make you look like a hobo. Seriously, could they have made the mage options look any lamer?

I used a retexturing mod to make it look way better... until I got a better robe from a dragon drop & "made" it with the forge.
Yes. If you go to the smithing menu, I believe it's either under "Draugr" or "Misc." The dragons drop soul gems and specially named items - cloth, light and heavy armor pieces. Using the soul gems and the specific armor piece, you can then upgrade it to have specific stats. If you're into destruction, there is increased magic damage and increased mana regen, for example. There is another option to turn it into a conjuration-focused set.

I have Wars on "balanced" but I might kick that up a ton. Normal + hard mod modes seems work best for me. Gives me breaks in between & a fighting chance to still be a kickass mage.
What are the stats on this?
I'm using wars on "golden age" i think, and i barely notice it at all. It might be time for Dark Age, but with how difficult these dragons are, i definitely don't want more than 1 at a time.
How do you get the non-hooded Archmage robes? When I became the ArchMage, I was given the hooded version, meaning I can't wear a mask/circlet.
Or maybe you can in vanilla...now that I think about it, the weapon and armor fixes mod changed it so hooded robes counted as a helm as well. Hmm.
Thanks for the info, so they are like the best in slot for chest for mages? BOOO that all you have to do is the mage guild quest chain. Boy does bethesda suck at progression.

Finally messing around with both FXAA Injector and Enhanced (ENB) Shaders. I really like what FXAA Injector brings to the table and I've got that thing tweaked just about right for both this and Amalur.
I'm still trying to get the feel for ENB. If using both of these in concert, what should my thinking be in terms of settings and something offsetting or complementing something else? Or avoiding clashes and redundancies?
