Hi all, my first post here so be gentle.
Some awesome setups here! I've been so impressed and inspired that I finally decided to finish my own corner. 2x 2007FP's and ZR30w. Bigger table is something I've been wondering, now I had to lift my speakers quite high. Couple pics:
That TV stand is really nice, where'd you pick that up?
Better yet, what software did you use to stitch and perspective-correct those photos?
went back to my usual, can always snag my sons other 2001 for 4800x1200 eyefinity...but I love my 3007 wfp-hc too much
hi all, this is my first posting here
awesome setup pix here .
I have 2xE2250 (LG 22" LED) setup currently, am thinking of adding a third monitor .
Understand the pix sample is 20 - 30 - 20 ; would it be possible to setup something similar to that using 22" monitors ?
any suggestions are welcome ..
hope i conveyed the question right
No, Not really. The only thing that would line up resolution wise would be an older CRT with a 2560x1920 resolution. I believe those CRT's were only 24" so physically they wouldn't line up either.
Here are some configurations you can do though:
20"P + 30"L + 20"P
1200x1600 + 2560x1600 + 1200x1600
20"L + 24"L + 20"L
1600x1200 + 1920x1200 + 1600x1200
19"P + 27"L + 19"P***
900x1440 + 2560x1440 + 900x1400
20"P + 30"L + 20"P***
900x1600 + 2560x1600 + 900x1600
***Don't think there are any IPS / PVA panels with this resolution though
ALSO: Make sure to check the dimensions of the monitors you're going to use. I have not checked, I was just doing this off my head. Especially since there are different sized monitors with the aforementioned resolutions.
(I.E. I have a friend who has a 17" with 1440x900 and it's super crisp as apposed to a 19" with 1440x900 in which i used to have and wasn't nearly as crisp.)
It seems a lot of [H]ard Gamers would like a triple display option of P+L+P. Why doesn't ATI or nVidia copy SoftTH and make it happen ? Not many people can 3 -30" monitors. But one 30" and two cheap 20" are way easier. Or one nice new 27" flanked on either side by 19" is again affordable, as far as three screens go.
I have always liked the idea of the main center display the big dog and smaller screens on side it just looks right to me

The ZR22s are 1920x1080 native res. And physically, the measurements are 12" (h) x 20" (w). HP's official measurements are nonsense because they don't correctly list panel-only measurements for this monitor. So if you flip it in portrait, it's 2" taller than the ZR30W. Maybe you can run it in 1:1 in 1600x900 and line it up better, but 900 is a bit squished.
If you want to perfectly match a 30", your only real option is the 20" Dell 2007 FP. But those are all refurbs and run $200 a piece - not paying that for some used monitors with no real warranty. And frankly, there's no real point to it since you can't do PLP gaming anyway. It only makes sense if you really must have the bezels lined up or you really want those extra 120 pixels of horizontal space in portrait mode (1200 versus 1080).
Because there's no real market for it. A tiny vocal minority representing 0.01% of buyers just doesn't cut it. Very few people have 30". And no one even makes a 20" IPS anymore. Even among gamers, people who buy IPS are in the small minority, so very few people have portrait monitors, either.
The best multi-mon config is probably 30"x3 in portrait mode. In theory, if you're not dripping money but still make decent money, you could get one new 30" for your main monitor and try to find a couple used or refurbed ones over a couple years...and then Tri-SLI/Fire the second-highest-end video cards every other generation.

Forget the monitors, dude's got a frakin' ANDROMEDA on his desk!!
That flickering is related to the ATI drivers It's a well documented problem for 2 or 3 monitor setups . Just google it and you'll see. had the same problem. First make sure your drivers are up to date. and try disabling overdrive in ccc if you have it enabled. I think the only thing that had stopped it for me was running 10.4 drivers. They may of taken care of the problem in recent drivers.... I don't know. If I recall the consensus was that it's related to the way the card throttles the memory and core clocks? With the fact that i could never go past the 10.4 drivers I ended up just going nvidia for my muti monitor needs.
The one on the left is the new dell 30" (3008?) and the one on the right is a 3007 WFP. I had twin 3007WFPs, one broke out of warranty and they "repaired" it by sending me a new screen for $200 or so!
