HappyHopping, at the height shown, my eyes are just above the halfway point of the display. I sit pretty high up in my chair and without the extra stand the 3007 is just too low.

Ballpoint, in that 3007 thread, where 3007 owner posted their 30" dell, noone does that, you're the first. I bet you must be a very tall person.

Yeah, you're right. (edited out me embarassing myself)

Most people here have their displays, etc. set up all wrong so I would not take the average situation shown here to be correct. A lot of people don't seem to even give themselves enough room to move the mouse around the desk. And unless you guys sit really low it seems like a lot of people's eyes are way above the midline of their display..
Eyes are supposed to be above the midline of their display. Pretty much every guide I read about proper posture places the eyes about level with the 3/4 or top line of the monitor, and many state that you must "need to look down a bit" to see the screen.

# Sit directly in front of the keyboard and computer screen.
# Situate the monitor so it will be from 18 to 24 inches from your eyes and you have to look slightly down to see it.
# Make sure your legs fit beneath the desk with your feet flat on the floor. Use a foot rest if necessary.
# Adjust the chair seat height so your thighs are parallel to the floor with your knees at about 90 degrees and slightly lower than your hips. Make sure your chair seat isn't too deep.
# Use a work surface that allows your elbows to maintain about a 90 degree angle.
# Sit upright, maintaining the natural curves of your back.
# Make sure you have adequate lower back support.
# Keep your shoulders relaxed. Don't slump forward.
# Relax your wrists and keep them in a neutral position. Don't flex them up or down.
# Keep your knees shoulder width apart or closer.

*On another note, I will edit this post with my new 2007WFP setup*

I'll stick with it at the current height. Call me a freak.

.....

PS last night I took the stand away since what's out there on display ergonomics does tend to say put the center line of your monitor slightly below your line of sight. I dunno it just doesn't make it easier to focus for me. I have an easer time when it's up higher. Will experiment a bit more...

Just moved to a new house, and was able to get a new desk and have my setup a bit differently... Too bad the computer is currently not functioning, either because of power supply or motherboard. I haven't figured it out yet.

Ludic, I almost bought that chair. How do you liike it?
It's really nice, but I'm not entirely sure it was worth all of the money I spent on it.

(3840x2224) 8.5Mpixel + (24 inch) 2.3 Mpixel + (19 inch)1.3Mpixel = 12.15 Mpixel
1.75 times of the price of a 3007wfp but 3x the resolution. 23 inputs, (8 vga, 6 dvi inputs, 3 components, 3 composit, 3 s-video)

Let me guess, you like the new XMEN movie?

Nice set up. How many computer(s) run them ?

3 for the moment, but soon to be one, once conroe is released, crossfired with other multiple pic-e slots or a matrox triplehead2go. Or distribute the monitors on linux machines networking as one large desktop.

Westinghouse LVM37-W1, 1920x1080, and my old Dell 2005FPW sitting unhooked for bonus LCD points.

Please to excuse the wires. In case you were interested, the top right is a cable TV input (HBO Hi Def/Spider Man 2) in a PiP window.

That is the exact same desk I have. I don't have the corner module and the wing tho. Not enough room for that in my apartment right now.

My new setup. Its pretty sad when your keyboard and mouse cost more than your desk :( New desk and chair coming soon!

Thanks guys!

I am not worried about storms, I live on the west coast, (knocks on wood table) I would like to think I am pretty safe.
the veiw is a lot better than those pictures show. This is looking out to the left, I live in santa cruz and can see all the way to monterey, and to the left you can see all the way to the santa cruz beach boardwalk and the lighthouse.

I am pretty much VERY fortunate to have a dad who loves me

hmmm, i read that comment multiple times and still think its odd. But I'm glad that he does and things are going well for you. Nice puter and scenery.

What I meant is because I am going to school I get to live in the beach house, because my dad loves me.

Oh never mind I sound like a prick, :(

I got it, and it's cool you realize how fortunate you are, and why.

Now finish school and start earning your own damned money, and repay that love by getting out of dad's wallet. ;)
