some crude early pics...will refine my setup and post better ones (aka when the sun isnt directly on top of me) later

3 skylights...the sun creeps across the room from the back to the front, so around 1-2pm, the sun is right over this desk...used to be annoying with CRT's because you couldnt see jack shit but it's better now with LCD's haha

Nice setup, East. People's setups here are notoriously good at making large monitors look a lot smaller than they actually are. It makes me want to get a 24" now because, looking at your setup, a 20" wouldn't look very big at all.

yea i just sold a 20" viewsonic VX2035WM and the difference is tremendous sitting at this desk. in the fall when i'm back at school, i will post more pics of this thing filling up the space under my unforgiving hutch...was hoping for the space for a 37" westy. this thing is awesome though haha

Just finished AP exams and school is over tomorrow!

Setup (you can't see some of the things I have)- Dell 2407 and 19in CRT, 360, Logitech LX710, MX518, Logitech Z5500, 20in flat tv, and some other things lol.

I prefer to have 2 LCDs instead of one huge one.

I know that you game in Window Mode even on a 32 inch, but i think its cooler to have a smaller screen on your left and a bigger one on the right and if you want another on the left....

most people, myself included, like to be immersed, and a big screen does that for us :)

Seems like bigger screens have better angels too or my LCD was just old and crappy. I can watch this on the corner of my room and the colors look fine. That and my Sharp comes with a tuner so I can watch TV too!

I'm in the prefers-multiple-smaller-monitors-over-one-bigger-monitor but then I have an inherent hate of widescreen, not to mention that multiple computers means multiple monitors!

Nice little camera collection you've got there.

My vote is for: Gaming one screen, productivity two or more. I spent a lot of money and time trying to get a consistent multi-monitor gaming setup and neither red or green can provide it. The closest would be a triplehead setup but you have to go all analog vga and max at 1280x1024 per screen. Doesn't look very good on widescreen monitors either you need (3) 5:4 screens.

^ I agree too.. One of good things that 2 LCD's have for them are for games that allow you to have controls on one screen and the game play display on the other one.

Yes, definately agree. Triple-head gaming has it's issues & the only time that dual-head makes sense is if the game has lots of stats/chat windows that can be stuck on another monitor with all the action still going on on the primary (think MMORPG).

Can I get a source for that wallpaper?

They're both the same girl, Misha Barton.

Oh...can you tell me where I can get the wallpaper? Or did you make it? Could you tell me where you go the original pic on the right then if you made it? Otherwise could you provide a link? I couldn't find that particular picture of her. I even checked lazygirls. :p

He did invent the internet, though.

Invented is a bit drastic. I invented a space/time warping machine that allows people to travel from one side of the galaxy instantly. It's called the "Ub3rm0bile" and it uses no fossil fuels at all. It launches into space from a giant sling shot in Area 51 and from there uses a micro singularity to distort space/time for travel. Look for it at your local dealership spring 3008.

But as far as the pic...can you imagine how much porn you could surf at the same time with a setup like that? I'm picturing Gore with porn all over each of those monitors and him sitting there naked.

No sh1t, I was joking about him inventing the internet.

But his setup is l33t. Any estimate to what size those puppies are?

that's not really what global warming is about though
lol hes talking about how Gore says that the Earth is warming drastically but there is snow. IF the earth was so warm why is there snow? I think thats what he means.

Though that is not my view on Global Warming by any means.

It could be just winter... and it may be somewhat cold but not as cold as it normally was during past winters. If we have to read deeply into these things, might as well go all the way.

Gore's 3 30incher... 7680x1600 = 12.288 Million Pixels... 32 icher TV likely a 1366x768 pixels... 1.049 Mpixels. So all 4 displays combined is.. 13.337MPixels

My 8 lcds combined is at 14.2284MPixels... so I beat a vice president in the number of pixels...

with 8 LCDs...you damn well better beat all but a handful of people in the frigging world haha

side note: global warming, at its current pace, could actually trigger an ice age through a complicated process of negative feedback and positive feedback. essentially, the warming of the earth triggers more evaporation. more evaporation means more and thicker cloud cover all around the world. more (like a LOT more) clouds could easily result in a substantial adjustment in the earth's albedo or reflectivity. less of the sun's energy penetrates the cloud cover, causing a cooling of the earth over hundreds or thousands of years. a colder earth means more snow which means even higher reflectivity. even less of the sun's energy is absorbed into the ground. <-----the sun's energy radiates in all wavelengths of light...some more than others. the reason why the sun is yellow is because the output of energy peaks at the particular wavelength of light which happens to be yellow in the visible spectrum. anyway, the heat we feel from the sun is the absorption of the infrared wavelengths by our skin and by the crust of the earth. if all (or virtually all) of the sun's energy (all wavelengths) is reflected by heavy cloud cover or substantial snow cover, the earth cannot maintain a base level of heat...heat at a level enough to, say, stave off an ice age. --this is not what happens in the day after tomorrow...but the end result is more or less similar (not cyclonic storms...north america blanketed in snow/ice).

this is one theory, and a much lesser-known/understood theory of what could happen if global warming is not controlled. the more obvious and ubiquitous theory is that the increase of gases like CO2 and methane in our atmosphere trigger a runaway greenhouse effect, causing all sorts of disastrous and enhanced weather phenomena around the world etc etc etc.

ice ages can also occur when the earth is already cold and too much snow reflects too much of the sun's energy away.

just some insight. that's how i understand it. nothing political or fanatical :)

Well said. I want to add that eventhough hundreds of years seems like a long time from now, and some people who read might not care as they would all be dead. The truth is, it will take many, many decades to undo the current damage, so we don't have time to wait another hundred year to take action, un-do the global warming effect must be engage immediately.

And for those who think that the above doesn't affect them directly, while that is true, their children will suffer the consequences.

It's funny how Gore is so concerned with global warming, yet he is wasting electricity running a tv hes not watching :) on top of having 3 30" monitors.. that he probably doesn't actually need. A lot of electricity is generated by the burning of fossil fuels, bad gore!

off topic: but by the time we would reach any critical point, our fossil fuels will be gone and well be forced into those ever so friendly environmentally friendly fueling methods ;)

I'm not currently using my main pc sadly, had a bit of a problem with my 8800, returning it for another...

I moved my 2407 to another pc. Was gonna get another 2407, or another 24" monitor.

What 24" do ya'll suggest?
