This gives a whole new meaning to "Want to come up and see my etchings".

I want to say I am sorry for that thought before we go too far, I blame it on my friends, and the conversation that has been held in e-mail this morning.
This time it wasn't a guy making the request, so get your filthy mind out of the gutter ;)

Ohhh okay no problemo I can probrably do that for ya :) Currently updating the 9800 Pro to an X800 Pro now. :)

Much appreciated :)

You intend to make this system your main gaming rig or something?

Yep! I do intend to switch it over from an HTPC to a gaming rig. :) Even though the 9800 Pro could play HL2, changing out the gfx cards is my last upgrade. Then I'll build a new rig with an Athlon64 939 processor, best gfx card, and I might make the switch to a raptor since I've never had one. :)

You're making my current main system (AXP 1700+, Matrox G550) cry :(

The Raptor will probably help your HL2 load times, so it might be a good idea. Just be warned that it's noisier and runs hotter than 7200 RPM drives, so you must be willing to sacrifice something in return for lower access times ;)

Eek! Nevermind I'll stick with my 120Gb Seagate :D If WD made a larger Raptor than the 74Gb version I think I'd be all over it. :D

Many people who have a Raptor installed use it as the OS drive, and add a bunch of big HDDs for storage.

Of course, if you don't need the extra seeking speed the Raptor provides, people might think you're trying to compensate for something :D

WD and Maxtor HDDs (other than Raptors) are generally noisy bastards, so that's no surprise :)

Older HDDs are also noisier than most modern ones (regardless of size). WD in particular was the last manufacturer to start using FDBs (fluid drive bearings) on all their standard desktop drives I believe.

Too bad I had bought one (cheap though) before they started using FDB, even with the good deal I'm pissed at how loud they are. Should have spent the extra money for a Seagate....

She's doing much better! Less redness and scratching :D
Sounds like both of you are really happy right now ;)

Any chance you'll be getting that new camera you'll need for the close-ups? Or will you subject us all to a torturous wait?

I still have to wait for the new camera to take case pics. I just recieved $100 so it might go to the camera :)

Went camera window shopping yesterday CompUSA = $399, Newegg = $319 for the same camera. I think I'll go with Newegg and use the extra savings to buy a 512Mb SD card. :D

I really do like what you've done with the case... I think that every time I see it! :)
This proves alot that there are women/girls which are geeks aswell, and that kicks ass. :)

Wohooo! Geek Pride! :D

You're still going for the Minolta Dimage Z2? :)

Don't you have to pay shipping with Newegg?

I'm probrably going with the minolta yep, and the camera was $309 + $9 or $10 shipping last time I checked at newegg. It still beats $399 + 7% tax though. :)

Edit: Thanks so much knaSen.

Aww, I thought you forgot about me.. ;) *j/k*!
My pleasure, I like the font on the side, which one is it? Is it free? :) I'd really like to have it, if I may..
Got any new projects coming up? :)

The $399 was without tax? now I understand why people like Newegg so much :)

knaSen I do have another project, which I haven't really had any ideas for...but they'll come to me soon lol. Yep the font should be a free one called "AdineKirnberg Script".

Elledan yep so it would've been around $428 total. Newegg always rocks :D

To tell you the truth though, I haven't really decided 100% on either camera's I wanted... Fuji S5100 or Minolta Dimage Z2. It's like they're both good, but one lacks features or qualities the other has. Only if they were combined to make the ultimate camera! The Dimage Z5 is new, and looks like what I want so far....but I haven't found any prices on it yet. Everyone will have a ton more pics after I get a nice digicam :D

How mysterious, may we have alittle info on this one? ;)

Hmm...I'd have to say it includes an Antec Aria. I have to mod it to blend into a livingroom somehow.

You've got to decide at some point ;)

What are the must-have features you miss in the Z2 and in the S5100?

Cool, if you want I could try to give some ideas.. If you want you could pm me and we'll talk about it :)

Btw, about the cams, have you checked the Canon Ixus 40? Here in Sweden it have got a price for the best camera this winter/spring/whatever.. :)

Hmm well the comparison between both cameras...it's just that the Z2 takes better quality pictures sometimes, while the s5100 doesn't really take that great of pictures at all like sometimes the color is off. Yet, I like the feel of the s5100 since it has grips and just feels sturdy over all. The Z2 however has light plastic for the body without any grips so I feel like I'll drop it especially if my hands are wet or sweaty from modding lol. So someone said to go with the s5100 since if you feel comfortable with the camera then you'll most likely take better pictures.

I've been looking into a different camera, the Panasonic FZ20 it also has image stablization which is good for the extra zoom. It has basically everything I want, and looks to be built like the s5100. I haven't been able to hold any in person since not many places carry it. I will definately let everyone know what I decide on though :D

knaSen I have an over all idea of where this case is going to go, but how to mod it is what I'm stuck on lol. It's going to go in my living room most likely. Hmm the Ixus looks like a nice camera, but only 3X optical. :(

Ah I see.. :) got any secrets about it to tell me then? ;)
Well, yeah.. 3x zoom is enough, atleast for me.. If I want a closer picture, I try to get closer, but if you are on i.e vacation you might want a bit more zoom probably.. I don't think I've ever used the zoom on either my Ixus 40 or my old Kodak dx3215 that much.. :)

Time to resurect the thread lol jk sorry knaSen for not responding! Hmm no secrets really, oh and I really do like the 12x zoom on this camera it's awesome!

I finally got a "decent" digital camera!!! Wooohooo Panasonic DMC-FZ15

Here is just a little hint of what's coming up next. I'll be posting new pics, if you want to see them just ask (except for pics of me). :D

I took it at 4MP, and cropped it at the highest resolution so if it was shrunk down a tad it looks really clear.

Thanks! I'm really excited since I can get better pics now! :D

Re-posting since it was the end of the last page...

Here it is when the computer is on. Scaled down :)

Wow, that is the hotness! That is such a perfect touch, and the blue led in the middle just makes it better! Now you just need to post some high res pics of your case since you have your new camera! :D

*Warning: Do not look directly at blue LED with remaining eye*

Was that your 14th or 15th choice? I'm afraid I lost count ;)

Can we see some close-ups of the etchings now? Please? :)

LoL alright I'll try to get them today if I can. Need to write up an article / how-to first before I do though! :D

Excellent job on the mod Jess! Nice choice on the Corsair RAM too! (I have the same stuff) ;)

I'm actually in the process of finally finishing the series, just watched episode 12 "Diablo" and I think I'm liking where the story is going.

PS - Nice touch with the power button. It's ultra-swooby.
