Project: Vash (Trigun)

LoL alright I'll try to get them today if I can. Need to write up an article / how-to first before I do though! :D
Alright, thanks :)

hmmm... upon close examination i think i know how you did it... risky but it works.

you drilled through the bullet while keeping the bullet submerged in a bucket of water.

you drilled through the cap first, making sure that water was getting through to the powder and keeping enough of it wet that it wouldn't explode (gunpowder will not explode when wet) and then just kept going through.

yes... it could be a blank... but those still have gunpowder in them, i believe... for the effect.

you then just superglued in a tailed led.

i thought you got a bunch of empty casings from someone.

it shouldn't be terribly difficult to get a hole in one, i doubt she had to drill a live shell

i'm not much of a gun person so i could very well be using wrong terms or getting info wrong but if you look on page 10 (post ~190 if you have different page lengths than i do) you'll see part of the discussion about the bullets

ah... i'd forgotten about that one... in that case, just drilling... you don't need to worry about gunpowder.

but if you'd wanted to use whole bullets (rather than just shell casings) you'd want to use the method that i outlined.

well.. I ment more like how she made it work as a button and not how she drilled it out :p

bah... it's easy.

take the original switch, pull it apart, and reconstruct it with the shell in place of the original button.

Too bad I didnt see that switch before I started some of the work
on my case.. wouldnt have wasted the money on the switch
I bought ;) But I will still use some ammo later on :)

Great Job Jess

Defintly I have to say, you did an excellent job with this case. Can you show pictures of the other cases that you have done. I will like to see more of your work. By the way what do you do with all those PC's? Are they you PC's? or, Work you do for other people? Anyways, again excellent job and keep up the good work. Now I know where to go when I have questions. And by the way make sure you are in the picture with the PC's :D that is very important. ;)

A big 10 for you

Thanks everyone! Hey ebmusicman84!! :D

arock1_3 - This is my first case mod actually lol Vash is mine right now so I only have two computers. Haven't really had full "case mod" customers, but I just etch windows for them to put into their cases. :D Glad you enjoyed the worklog!

Make sure that when you start another thread like this one, show it step by step like this because I enjoyed very much.

*wonders what happened to the close-ups of the etchings*

Sorry Elledan! I'll get them for you, what sizes would you like?

640x480
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024

As big and detailed as your new digicam can handle :)

LoL okay it's 2340x2000 or something like that. I can't get it "uploaded" by tonight since I'm currently on 56k (long story) so I'll see if I can give the flash card to my friend and have him upload it using DSL. :D

I knew that having a screen resolution of 2304x864 would be useful some day :D

Thanks for taking the time to show off your work :)

I thought this would be a worthy first post. That work with the bullet is one of the funkiest ideas i have every seen period... i dont know how i didnt come up with something like it! So simple yet...damn. It has given me some great ideas for something i am doing, so, big thanks! Congrats from Australia!

Thanks! Here's a pic I took a while ago but never posted.

now I have to come up with a new idea for a button! Will it still be considered unique since mine is a 357 shell? I even went as far as ordering a six gun oil cap fom a choppers inc a few months ago, (was teh cheapest thing with a six gun I could find) was going to incorperate that somehow, or maybe put it on my HOG.

PS I'll be riding through Atlanta on my way to Daytona Beach for Bikeweek, ;)

That 1st pic of the etch is sweet as, really looks great.
Where did you place the lights for it to stand out like that?

Thanks! :)

If you really wanted, you could have made the edges and etched surfaces smooth. Right now it looks somewhat roughened, which isn't ugly or anything. It's just that with the LEDs lighting up the etching all imperfections become very pronounced.

Of course, if you're happy with it, I'm happy too ^_-

I did think about sanding them down, but it has its own sort of characteristic to it. :) So yep I do like it! One of a kind etch ;)

looks good, is the gun supposed to be backwords? IE the barrel on the bottem close to the rounded end with the top being flat?
