it's not my rules... it's Kyles rules..

i.e.
"(25) You are allowed one signature per post. A signature section is supplied for that
usage. No one wants to see your name on your posts multiple times as it is annoying."

you can put your personality in your sig.. that's what it's there for right?..

Don't make a big deal about it.. He and I actually already talked to him about it a week ago.. he probably just forgot by habit.. ;)

you probably didn't catch the hotlinked image (highendpalace.com) that I also moved to my own personal server so it wouldn't ruin the thread did ya? ;)

now.. back OT..

no pictures but i have the Altec Lansing 251 speakers. these things sound great.
i am also hoping to build a setup with my dads old Realistic Optimus-1 speakers.

I love my audio (also connected to PC), it's not the latest DTS THX DOLBY DIGITAL 9.1 eleventy sixtyfour but it kicks out crisp clear audio in everything which is why I have stood by its side all these years and will remain to do so until the drivers totally fail or my amp stops working. They don't make this stuff like they used to these days.

Speakers: 1994 JPW Radius series with custom polycell tweeters. rms 100wpc (no subs needed with this pair, lol)

Cables: Pioneer thick stuff (some years old now forgot model, I bought 10 metres at the time)

Soundcard: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

Others:
1994 Kenwood KRV7050 Dolby prologic II/Stereo AV receiver connected to soundcard. rms 100wpc

Sennheiser HD485

Hot Dam Joey!
That picture you linked to before wasn't that impressive, but I have to say...... that red and black sure looks nice, especially with the gold trim.

Love the color of the new speakers...... a beautiful red wood. ^_^
How are they working out by the way (didn't see pictures of them before this)?

wow, that looks awesome. I wanna hear that system. I've actually heard those speakers before (the black mesh ones). My friend's parents own them. They sound amazing. Didn't get to hear them real loud though

Hehehehe....

The cool thing is, the car I'm getting after I graduate is going to pull me away from my audio hobby, so I'm trying to finish it off now asap. I'm tossing between the new M3, the M5, the M6, the CLS63 AMG, or the Aston Martin Vanquish.

I kinda wanna save and get the M3, but the M6 is super sick... yet the M5 is a real nice muscle car.... yet the CLS is so fly.... but the Aston is, well, an Aston. Hard to decide... but that's another story for another thread (not this one).

Well black mesh does beat calling it chicken wire ;)
Anyways, Martin Logan, was the name that was escaping me.

Interesting combination of cars to choose from. They all happen to compete with the Corvette Z06 :) That's what I'd get. Costs less, has better areo-dynamics and looks, gets decent gas mileage, and happens to be my favorite car. I'm only a little bias :p

Ryan,
Of course I have the z06 on my radar too as I am very familiar with that car and its capabilities. I've been in one and I know what it can and cant do. The good thing about that car is that it is fast and it is powerful. However, it doesnt have the finesse of the other "super cars" inside and during normal city driving. I am a big proponent of the z06 and I consider it the best super car for anyone on a "budget" (though it is expensive).

circa 1993 100wt Sony shelf system
have to say, it rocks pretty hard for an older unit with smaller speakers. The sound is pretty good and has a lot of low end bass. Sits behind my monitors.

excuse the dust

(damnit!!!!!!!!!! I never noticed hte pushed in cone on the top right there :( WTF? I have no idea when that happened.)

Setup in the bedroom :D
22in BestBuy BlackFriday special with a good 'ol set of Labtec speakers that I used to use on my computer while in college. We had a computer room setup and I couldn't really use my shelf system to it's potential, so I got these. They sound quite killer for a $50 setup. Best bang for the buck IMHO.

Living room... while the TV is the worst thing ever (being resolved soon) the receiver is pretty good. THX Kenwood VR-7080 with Technics, cambridge, and sony speakers :D All cheap, but sound decent. My center channel lacks the most IMHO. I also have no sub cause I have been too cheap to buy one... but the last 2 places I have lived had connected walls to another occupant so I can't justify the need for one currently.

Hey Ezekial, i used to have those labtec PC speakers until the round connector that connects the satelites to the sub would not give a good connection anymore. It somehow got really loose in the connector part in the sub. I would have to unplug the cord and plug it back in everyday to make the dang speakers work. (makes me mad just rethinking about it!) This happened in or around 2002.

That has not happened to you yet has it?

hahhhahahahahhaha

yes it has actually, but it just makes noises/pops and shit til it gets "seated". Takes like 10 seconds after (re)plugging it back in.
after that it's fine til you kick it again.

Ezekial, you and I have the same Sony shelf system! Except my stupid brother jammed so my family only uses it as an auxilary output for our TV... :(

I had major hissing issues with the speakers that came with it. Is it because of EMI from the TV that's not even one foot away from the speakers, or is it something else?

mines been great for the last 10+ years
I've never had interferance. I'd try a different location and see what you get. Also could be in your electical system.

We had just done a comparison with the Axiom M3ti bookshelves and we also played with the Sonic T-amp!

Ikea.... it's large and not expensive at all. Plus, I think it looks clean. I should've gotten the black one though.

I love your Onix x-ls/x-cs setup! I came very close to choosing them before going with HTD's Level 3 bookshelves. I'm still waiting for mine to ship, but seeing your speakers is making me reconsider my decision. Please let us know how you like them.

Love the XLS system! I was with MLS (CEO of av123) when he was demoing the XLS to me and those are good speakers!

They're great so far. Just set them up Saturday night so I don't have a ton of listening time into them yet. They're a little bigger than I thought they'd be. I looked at width and height but it didn't prepare me for how deep they are. And the center is pretty hefty sized for an entry level system.

My main home theater speakers edge them out, but just barely I think, and these cost less than half as much. Myself and a friend are going to try and have an evening of speaker comparison where my B&W 602s and XL-S' go up against his Axiom M22s. I've never heard the Axioms so I don't really know how they'll compare.
