Post your desktop

Got it from deviantart.com

I prefer having AIM docked so i can always see it and other windows will maximize without covering up. I dunno, i just like it that way. :)

Why would you put pictures of the war on your desktop? Isn't that, well, depressing?

Don't want to get into a politcal diatribe, but...no. It makes me feel TUFF. That's all caps, two f's.

macdesktopconversioninprogress.jpg

I just decided last night to convert my PC desktop into a Mac. It's still in progress, no doubt it'll go through several evolutions before I'm done.
So far I'm using AquaDock, WinMac, some Panther icons set, and a Mac OSX skin on Style XP (having some font problems there). I threw in some widgets from dotWidget for fun. Not sure what I'm going to do with those just yet.

Nice!!!!

Mac icons just blow the windows icons completely out of the water.
The media Player 10 icon comes close, but just look at that IE icon.
beautiful.

Saw this thread last night and poked around the web and made some changes to my standard desktop. Still tweaking and looking for some nice apps I saw on other people's desktops. Its a work in progress, but I like what I have so far.

sorry if i boke any rules..but her ass is tooooo fine to keep to myself

I must agree, but I don't think I could have that on my desktop, staring at me, endlessly. The fact that I'm still 18 wouldn't help my cause much, either ^_^

Let's just keep the Mac thing rolling :D. Thanks thrawn for the dotWidget mention.

How do I go about getting that calendar? Is it a stand alone program, or just a widget of something huge that sucks up memory?

hmm, well, the visual style is called luna element, and it kicks ass. check out neowin.net for it. the dock app is actually y'z dock. this one owns the rest out there. you might have a tough time dling it as apple sued the dude and i think its illegal for sites to post the download. google, as always, is your best friend.

im actually thinking of changing the bg. too many peeps are using it and its gettin kinda old.

yeah, i use Yz dock myself , its the easiest to setup and run. I have one prob. with it, its ontop of EVERYTHING. while your playing games and you run the cursor to the top of the screen it show it!! do you know how to get rid of that?

Download Konfabulator it comes with a calender. They are called Widgets. You can download different ones if you want. But you are not limited to just Calenders...If anyone had clicked my link for my BG they would see more of the stuff you can have.

man is my desktop a lot cleaner with that program

one question though

I like the task bar hidden but sometimes i dont. Like when i have steam, aim open and i want to exit the task bar isnt there for my to right click on them and hit exit.
when i put it on auto hide at the bottom it just gets in the way of the program with i go to click on one of the icons. the sides i just dont like. at the top i hate it because when i go to close somthing it goes to the task bar.

is there a way to have the task bar accessable but not visible?

how are you guys doing it that are running the program?

Ew, not a fan of your standard icons. Go to wincustomize, click object dock, and search for icons made for them. Anyways, you can right click the icon and there is an option called close...(i.e...exits program)

i just installed it. im going there now

the close thing only closes it to the task bar it doesnt close it all the way ie aim/steam

Finally got Photoshop installed again so I could size the image down.
1280X960 is Normal, but I sized it down 50%

Yeah, I could care less about MAC. I just like the way it looks/Ease of use. What else is so "mac" about my desktop besides it?

It's because Mac has this neat, super clean look to it. If most of us right here wanted a Mac, then we'd probably have one instead of a windows/Linux based PC.
