Ordering a Wii Component Cable

Nintendo said these won't be available in stores until mid december, but that was before they "sold out" online (who really knows if they actually did). Either way they've severely underestimated consumer demand for graphics in general. It seems ridiculous to me considering they're at least bragging about its 480p capabilities, which are only possible with these cables.
 
Well I called the Big N today. Despite the fact I got my web order in before the "We are all out" notice was up, my cables are still backordered for real. The phone rep said that hopefully they would be going out on the 20th. Ah well. At least the Nintendo phone reps are as nice as I remember them being back when I called their 1-900 hint line hehe.
 
I ordered mine a while ago, should ship tomorrow, hopefully they will get here by the end of the week.
 
Just got my shipping confirmation too. Looks like the second batch came in.
 
Ordered mine on the 20th at about 3 AM. Mine says "preparing order" but still no confirmation...hopefully that'll change in the next few hours.

You should be good to go, my order from the first batch changed from Backorder to preparing order just before it shipped :). It took about 12 hours to change to Shipped :). You should get a shipping confirmation email, as well.
 
I ordered nine on the 21st and it changed to 'Preparing Order' last night and still says the same. It was given a tracking number though. Too bad it isnt in UPS system yet.

I did overnight shipping though so I should be happy when I get home from work tomorrow.

Still says 'Preparing Order'. Same message since Monday. I'm starting to wonder if my order got misplaced. Anybody else have the same thing happening?
 
yup, same thing... It's been at "preparing order" since Monday morning (my order was placed on the 20th, FYI). I'm starting to think that Nintendo might be unable to keep their word on the timeframe they gave regarding orders placed at/before the 22nd. Maybe we all got pushed back to the mid-december bunch :mad: Anyone know what's going on?
 
I purchased the cables at 3 AM on the 20th and mine's still "preparing"

I'm *pretty* sure I put in my order on the 21st or 22nd, I forget which. It was the day before they said they were sold out for the shipment on the 28th, at any rate. I'm glad I put it in, though. Now I just need to finish unpacking the living room and setup my surround :D
 
I guess they're just being slow at processing these orders... damnit, I want my cables by Friday! :D
 
My order went through on the 20th, and my status is still at Preparing Order.
I'd imagine the backlog makes for slow processing.

I hope mine changes status tomorrow :D
 
Mine says "preparing order" but they have a tracking number posted already. Still not in the UPS system tho...
 
w00t! I got my cables delivered! There's a huge difference between composite and component, at least on my TV. The image is much sharper and clearer now. Jaggies seem to be slightly more noticable over component, but it's worth it for the improvement in clarity.
 
That's because you arent getting the image blur/colorbleed from the composite :)

I ordered mine 11/20 and it says shipped since like.. 20min ago and I got an email. but it's not tracking it yet

Why hack up your PS2 cables? Just get some alligator clips, paperclips and a set of RCA cables.

(I hate ruining a perfectly good cable by cutting it all up)

On a sidenote, I just got shipping notification for my cables this morning. I was an 11/20 order.
WOOHOO!

Still, the tracking number isnt working yet :(
 
Finally got to hook mine up last night. Huge difference in Zelda, and concur on the jaggies. But the added bonus was that I was holding off on hooking up to my receiver for the audio till I got the components, and got to do surround sound finally. Why they bother to put speakers on TV's anymore is beyond me. I never use them.... ;) (Yes I know it's virtual, but sounds better than stereo)

BTW this is on a 62" DLP Mits

AARGH!
 
ordered my components today, they went back in stock @ ninty on the 19th apparently...

I woke up, was reading Joystiq and saw the post about it, and rushed over and ordered it...

got my fingers crossed, hope they come soon :(

Hmm, that's interesting. Looks like you got the cables from the new batch, probably the ones that'll be going on sale at retailers. Mine were just wrapped in a clear plastic bag.

I thought the same thing. Everything I have ever ordered directly from Nintendo has been in minimal packaging. I don't think they expected the demand and are using retail products to fill their online orders.
 
Ah, I do so love living close to Redmond, WA. My cables shipped today, expected delivery is tomorrow...even by UPS ground.

Yeah, mine (from the first batch) came in a clear plastic bag, not the retail packaging. So, it would appear they are doing that!
