One Steep Ramp Up

Very nice ramp -he/she is going to mow me within 5 days and i'm now on vacation for 2 weeks.

Don't feel bad about getting mowed by this Mack truck. He's got some serious firepower at his disposal. It takes a lot of cores to get over 300k. I just hope he/she has plans to stick around for a long ling time.

I noticed when [H]ecklerKoc[H] showed up in the top 20, but the continued ramp is impressive. Looks like my threat list won't be empty much longer. Welcome!

Based on the hourly production, I'm guessing a lot of GPUs are involved, as well as some SMP?

Not many people pop up on my threat list yet but he did and then he was GONE. I looked at his rated PPD and thought I might be able to keep up but then I looked at his last updates and realized he is cranking as many points per update as I am doing a day and realized it was OVER.

That is alot of gear he is running. 60 or so systems that are each capable of 20k a day roughly all running SMP WU however it looks like they might be under partial use.

Depending on what these boxes normally do he could be running heavy on the weekends and lighter during work hours???

All the same he mowed me down like I was standing still and I am happy for it!
 
Yeah, odd distribution of points for putting out so many. It doesn't look like he is running bigadv. Maybe a bunch of video cards with some SMP goodness thrown in? Come on mystery folder...stop in and say howdy...
 
According to Stanford he has 36 active clients. Four boxen with 8 GPU + 1 SMP each? Whatever it is, it's an impressive farm.
 
36 smp borgs on a long weekend dual low end I7 or big singles would do it. A slew of dual cpu I7 mac pros would be about right. If I worked somewhere that I could make that work I would. Our desktops are p4 2.8 so not worth the effort.
 
My math is suspect. 36 single i5 / i7 should be able to do this? He group policied it for the long weekend?
 
I think only [H]ecklerKoc[H] can really answer the hardware questions, but it sure looks good however it's being accomplished.

I just checked and [H]ecklerKoc[H] is on APOLLO's threat list...nothing like being 64 million points away but still in danger...fold on [H]ecklerKoc[H]!!

EDIT: Didn't notice it was just the PPD greater column...3 yrs to overtake. Still two impressive folders

EDIT2: 18hr later and its now down to a year...that's a ramp up

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday and he's rocketed to the top of my list. He must be running some serious gear. LOL, he's going to overtake Tiger even earlier at this rate. Now that's saying a lot...!! :eek:
 
Its really awesome to be averaging 95k PPD and still have a full threat list :D
