Yes, and large watch faces are close in size to the lenses in the Rift, hence the watch protectors are being used to protect the Rift lenses. Right thread, right topic.
That's so three posts ago.

If you have spare PCIe slot, getting an additional USB3 controller might be a way to get bandwidth to the headset reliably.
I did some searching on Amazon nut can't find these. Would you mind linking what you bought?cool, thought about something like that but don't know anything with a printer.. ordered 2x 2 axis GoPro mounts on amazon for $6/each CDN

Thank you sir. That looks like it will work perfectly.

Been trying out Raw Data since it's free to try this weekend but I'm not feeling it. It just doesn't feel all that polished like Robo Recall does. The guns, the melee attacks, and even the bow don't feel very responsive and feels sluggish to use plus the controls/tracking feel off as well. Even the bow from The Lab VR demo feels better than this game's bow.
I'll give it a few more goes and see how it holds up.
I agree, I played through the training and two levels but quit after that.. I know the real draw for the game is the multiplayer though, but it doesn't interest me at the moment.. if I had a crew to roll with perhaps. I mostly don't like the teleporting, how you can't rotate your view angle and it doesn't slow down.. so you have to teleport then flick the stick twice to turn around.. sloppy. also the robots are just creepy!
You can rotate, before letting go of the teleport button use the thumbstick to rotate the directional arrow, you will see the teleport landing marker moving the facing arrow, then release the button.
Finally got Vudu movies to play on the Rift HMD using VR desktop... for some reason it would only play on the Monitor and not the HMD... netflix works perfectly but Vudu movies would not. Had to uninstall chrome...and reinstall with a flash plug in. Chrome is the only one that plays on the monitor and HMD.. firefox and edge only display on the monitor? ..weird. But i love watching movies using the Rift.. curved screen, its like going to the movies but better.
I have similar lens protectors...haven't applied them yet, applying wet makes sense in as you can still maneuver it while it applied and then it can dry in place...i dunno.
yeah I guess it'd be easier to push out air bubbles.. hopefully can avoid getting the rest of the rift wet though. maybe i'll put down some papertowel around the lenses..
I have yet to try this.. is the resolution drop not noticeable? IE the actual video image is probably closer to 720p in reality.. my co-worker is contemplating getting a HMD just for watching movies.
..also.. has anyone had trouble with the head tracki
Well... yes and no. If you take off the headset look at a higher res screen then put the hmd back on your going to notice things. But the biggest hurdle is the screen door effect for most people. I found the more i use the rift the less i notice. When using Virtual desktop i feel like im in a theater.. a theater floating in space that is. I watched Blade Runner last night... one of my favorites of all time... never saw it at the theater... but last night i did. VRDesktop is not a native video player...so i would assume that downloading the movie and watching from a dedicated VR player would be even better... but i dont want to have to wait to watch a movie.
cool, i've used the Mermaid VR app to watch some youtube files and some 180/360 video demos but that's about it.. seems to work pretty good though, has a 'theatre' option.
Virtual Desktop is worth buying.. Movies, browsing the internet and playing regular non-VR games are fun also. I like to play Civ IV and 7 days to die on the 100" curved screen... its a blast. Only thing is.. you have to use keyboard and mouse... its a little weird becuase you cannot see them... but you get used to it.
I did not know that was available yet.. thought it was still in testing/beta.. i see its now its public. I will try that tonight!isn't the "oculus dash" in Rift Core 2.0 supposed to blow these all out of the water anyway?
Installed Core 2.0 last night.. very cool. strange thing is..now when i watch hulu i cannot watch in HDR.. only SD...even using Virtual Desktop. Something about output device ... never had that issue before. But the new Rift software is very cool.isn't the "oculus dash" in Rift Core 2.0 supposed to blow these all out of the water anyway?

You don't have to take it into the shower...just a droplet of water will be more than enough...I bet the lens protector has microscopic holes that will draw the air/water out. Kind of like window tint.
I broke tip #4 and a 46" tv....... Dont swing past boundries is a good idea.
It is a win! The living room got a 4K TV and the bedroom got a much bigger TV(1080). I showed the wife what you did and I told her I should break the bedroom TV now for a 4K one...Why oh why didn't a read this sooner? Playing Echo Arena, the disk goes right by my face. I lean over, grab it, going for the epic save! And bam! Time for a new TV. Boundaries are a bit more conservative now.. And my TV is now 4k.. So win?
I actually meant Vudu... and HDX..lol. But its weird still.weird, I don't have hulu so I can't try that out.. hopefully they fix it anyway.

She did not like that.
I do try really hard to stay in a spot and just turn. Most that I do now is hit a controller on the computer desk.
