Nvidia Previews Unreleased GPU

Looks great, but i think ill pass for DX12

p.s. the camera man should be shot...

Well, DX11 is only a year old, and theres maybe a handful of games that use it, and probably none that really show it off yet. This tech with the tessalation, if it can be used to great effect in a game, will be where DX11 finally "arrives". In other words becomes must-have. As it is now, even DX9 games still look great and have most of the eye-candy of dx10 and dx11.

If you want to wait for DX12, it's going to be a long time. Likely 2012 at the earliest, assuming Windows 8 is released in 2012. Could be later than that. And, even once it is released, more than likely it will take another 2 years before something comes along that fully utilizes it. So 2014 to 2015 realistically.

It might be DX11.1?

I'm excited to see what the 580 really has to offer, but if it can't do 3 monitors with one card, i don't care how fast it is, i won't be buying one.
I'll stick with my 460 and get a second one.
I agree. This is a must have for Nvidia's gaming line. I don't understand why it cant be done now as the Quadro line has been capable of this for quite sometime. Either way they need to step up their game with the 580 line.

@ DarthBeavis

Why would you assume AMD's silence means Nvidias announcement is true?

The qudros that do multi monitor are usually 2d. Plus their about on par (or worse) with geforce models in terms of power. Youd still get crapp frame rates on low settings.

DX 11 isn't much more then an overhaul of DX10 and some other features.
What i was amazed of that the PR person didnt yell: Look at all those slides of this unnamed product which we cant reveal, how about that a new product which does slides so well (crowd cheering) ...

It is clear that Nvidia likes tech demos.

I wonder, how will that new vapor heatsink work in cases that invert the motherboard, such as the Silverstone Raven? Doesn't that heatsink need the proper orientation in order for gravity to cause the condensed coolant to collect back on the hot part of the heatsink?
