Yeah, I noticed that too.Just wondering why you don't have a fitting or bushing where the wires enter the panel on your new install

Well actually, the g5 dual 2.4 6 gigs ram & 3 120gig sata drives with os dvd's was a bargin, had to buy a friend a cheese berger SCORE!! he had a few that were collecting dust and wasting space Now i have 2 g5 servers, one is brand new with out proc's & ram & drives. Will be a spare machine for parts.
The G5 pictured below has fiber card too
The G4, well it's garbage. WAY to loud to run and meh!
Free sonic walls today
Can I ask you something.. does this Exfo FTB-500 support looking at a piece of DWDM fiber -- 44 channels @ 100GHz spacing? I need a good test device that will allow me to look at any one of those individual signals.

I wonder if the G5 proc's from my old dual G5 1.8 tower would work in that Xserve.
When I hear that I think of ICP and Juggalos lol
I'm pretty sure The Gathering is an oldschool demoscene. What is The Gathering?

Heres some more... this client has 2 DVR systems, and they had them in a back closet originally but we convinced them to have us build new rack mount systems and rack-mount them to a cabinet on the wall in top corner of office.
This picture is missing the 2nd DVR and the 2nd storage array. Pictured is a 16 channel system with a 10 drive array. I installed another 32 channel system with a 20-drive array in the blank spots. The rack pivots open (middle atlantic rack)

That's a CPU!? Fucking old macs...
Should, but not sure they will fit, as the heat sinks are tall,

sounds like you know your ISP well.. you should get into this stuff. We need more network engineers that know both out there...Unfortunately I have no idea. It was our ISPs equipment. I am a routing/switching/wireless guy, not a metro/fibre guy
Thanks for the info.. we'll look into this. With this card it'll see all the way down to 50GHz spacing. We tested one out a while back for our CWDM network and it was probably the nicest of the bunch but the bean counters didn't want to pay the money for it.

This thread almost makes me want to post the nightmare I have to deal with.
Even after multiple complaints to management about wanting to redo it I still get told no.
Yea once I am done retracing them all I am going to start doing one by one.i would just grab some ends and start redoing it one cable at a time, i would go nuts seeing that crap.
or if something goes wrong, just take daysss to fix it and claim that is why.
