The point was that with Fossil fuels huge pollution is business as usual. With batteries there are ways to manage it better. Of course companies will cut corners, but it's still better to keep the effects out of the cities. Noone is suggesting that electricity is all rainbows and unicorns. Classic strawman fallacy. Electricity is only better, not perfect.The effects are minimal when electric cars are a niche market. In the event that electric cars become mainstream than the manufacturing and disposal of electric car batteries could grow into a significant problem. It is quite possible that hundreds of millions of gas powered cars will be cleaner than hundreds of millions of battery powered cars. Sorry if Electric Car/Battery technology is not all rainbows and unicorns...
