Love your socket 754?

Ah 1.45v nor 1.40v helps with my overclock. I can't even seem to boot at 225x10 or 225x9. A64 overclocking is tough

you read my oc guide?

I sorta read it. It's kinda hard to put the pieces together using my motherboard (VNF-250) as its not super clear. So the first thing I should do is set my HT @ 2x, CPU multiplier at 5x (1000MHz) and my RAM divider at 100MHz? With the VNF-250 it has a weird quirk by showing AUTO, 100, 133, and 166. I have no idea which setting means what. If 100MHz was the correct setting then I was able to hit 290MHz at these settings.

That 100 is 100/200 (likewise 133/200 and 166/200) and thus is the 1/2 ratio setting. If auto (presumably the 200/200 setting) would be running it at DDR400, 100 would run it at roughly DDR200. So um, probably not good.

Yeah well I guess I eliminated the CPU and the memory from the equation, which pretty much leaves me with a maximum HTT of 290MHz. I thought it'd be much higher, really.

Or maybe it was because you only got your claw to 2.4ghz anyway. With wuss voltage.

ouch, i feel the love guys :(

and iddqd, it just stopped scaling, 2.32ghz needed 1.55v, while 2.4ghz needed 1.75v.. the 80mhz is not with the .2v and extra 10-15c imo :p

need help. 3000+ clawhammer, cnf3-250, zalman, can't get my computer to run at 3xhtt, 166(2:3)[should it be 133?], fsb280, v1.65, too quickly to that setting, or something else? Can i also lower the voltages because that seems high for a mobile?

Ouch. Hey, mine holds 2.35GHz with about 1.55v, but my board fluxes too much so I have to give it 1.57 to keep it stable....but now it fluxes UPwards so i get almost 1.6v. Board's a pain...but it takes me from 1.55v to 1.65v to stablize 2.4GHz....50MHz for .1v? Not worth it...and 2.41GHz wasn't stable at 1.65v either, needed like 1.7v which maybe got 2.42. These claws are tough. :p

Idk, mine did 2.6GHz with 1.93vcore. And 2.5 with 1.85... and 2.4 with 1.75...

speaking of overclocking though, how's that newark of yours doing? i think we're the only two with such a cpu at [H] :p

I would have one too but I don't think anybody wants arms and legs as currency..

You've got an extra kidney though, don't you? Probably worth a lot more than an arm.

You're a smart man.
Ok, I am heading over to the BST forum and gonna post my Kidney for a 3700+ Newark.

Nah, make 'em throw in a pair of 7800GTX cards while you're at it. You don't drink too much or anything right? Or was that livers...meh...

Damn, thought kidneys were still going for more than that. Figured they were still good for a few thou, but I guess overpopulation brought the prices down, plus cheap imports.

I actually would give up a Kidney for those parts.
nah, just work a random summer job, you'll get more than enough money for all that stuff.

Yeah ROIGHT! @ 6.00 per hour, I don't think so!

Nice stuff tho, cf! you always Git+r+Done!

$1500 in hardware would only take you about 3-4 months to work for, averaging $400 a month (which is a pretty conservative estimate.)

Especially if full time, and without bills.

I was speaking in terms of part time. Full time would be 2 months easy.

I figure, the job I start tomorrow, I'll be making +$1000 per month. Thanks to car insurance and stuff I'll probably net around $700 per month. That would be suffice for getting new parts, but, too bad I already bought my upgrade.

what lame job would you get that only pays $6 an hour?
i have a job that involves sitting around staring at people in bathing suits all day. i get sun and fresh air, and the starting salary is $8. i figure if i work 20 hours a week (not too hard), and for 8-10 weeks, i'll be able to pull in ~$1000 gross or so... though i guess two 7800gtx's would be over that. i guess i don't need sli anyhow :p

Yeah, I need to hand in a Resume to No Frills.. maybe Tim Horton's will call me for an interview... I could seriously put out all the custom tailored resumes I want and I don't even get a call back...

Did'ya tell them you were an HF Gawd, and that you're a member of the 754 club?

Yeah, but www.summitdirect.com has a bunch of scared prejudice employees that "Don't hire under 18", really they don't want me to take their jobs.

I seriously go there and end up staying an hour just to buy a fan, because I am recommending better parts and stores to random people I hear getting ripped off.

Wouldn't be too suprising...[H] being the popular site that it is, and retail tech stores having the pickings that they do. At least it's not CompUSA, then I'd have to laugh at you and/or feel sorry for you.

*ponders*

i wonder how many people would recognize my handle? :D

Haven't tested it yet. And I have to write a review for the newark line in a week. :(

I am trading my s939 3000 for a s754 DTR 3000. My s939 gave me nothing but trouble and I got a CBBID, so I think this is the right choice.

Oh and btw, relating to the above posts. I make money online. I use Forex trading, autosurfing, etc. If you have a few thousand to start, you can make out very very well. I pull in about $800 clear a week though. I started with $430. I am working on a lottery system. Mathematically, I figured buying 9 tickets every 6 days will yield 1 win. 500% of your capital each week. It worked in my tests, but I need more tweaking.
