Love your socket 754?

Speaking of such, how did (cf)Eclipse get a Newark if they arent out yet?

A guy over at XS can get them, but he can only get the 3700+ as the lower ones havn't really cycled out yet. I almost got one, but decided against it for the time being.

Connections. ^_^

And they're pretty out, although I think just the top couple numbers so far.

I'll swing for a Tee! How much are they? Sorry I didn't hear you the first time :D
there isn't a price yet, i'm working on it somewhere in the 15 to 20 dollar range.

Mark up another win for S754!!! I've been playing around with under-volting, and I'm impressed with this chip!

I brought my chip back down to stock speed (2.0GHz) and started under-volting, I dropped it, and dropped it, and dropped it, as far as it would go, witch would be 1.1 volts because the motherboard doesn’t go any lower

So, I have an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Newcastle core, running at its stock speed or 2.0GHz under-volted to 1.1 volts (default voltage is 1.5)

Temps droped all the way down to 30C idle, 37C load on stock cooling! :D

I'm about to see how it overclocks WHILE IT’S STILL UNDERVOLTED!
How far do you think I can get it before raising it back to stock voltage? :D

^hey didn't i just talk to you..hehe...I can do colors, but colors cost more. white and black shirts probably won't be a problem

Your a little low :D

1.100v | 2.03 GHz | This voltage was stable for stock (2.0GHz) all day, but it just couldn't OC.
1.175v | 2.09 GHz |
1.200v | 2.12 GHz | 100MHz
1.225v | 2.19 GHz |
1.250v | 2.23 GHz | 200MHz
1.275v | 2.27 GHz |
1.300v | 2.31 GHz | 300MHz
1.325v | 2.32 GHz |
1.350v | 2.36 GHz |
1.375v | 2.41 GHz | 400MHz
1.400v | 2.42 GHz |
1.425v | 2.45 GHz |
1.450v | 2.47 GHz |
1.475v | 2.52 GHz | 500MHz
1.500v | 2.53 GHz | With stock voltage at 2.53GHz :D thats 530MHz above stock speed BELOW stock voltage!

I brought it back down a little bit because temps were looking a little too high. I'm currently at 1.475v (still below stock voltage!) with my Athlon 64 3000+ running at 2.5GHz (stock speed 2.0GHz) Load temp is about 50c

black is fine for me, hows that New Chaintech+DTR combo going for you?
we'll have to see now won't we. :D Zalman coolor, nickel plated ram sinks, mmmm yum. I'll screw with it tomorrow.

one word, kvm. link two single channels with it, and i guess you could say you have dual channel.
They did that with AthlonXP's and nF2, but it didn't work too well. Actually, it worked well, but you can't possibly gain anything from it.

Whoever orders the shirts, be sure to overcharge like 15 people $1 so they can pay for my shirt...I'm the PR guy, I get the free s754 club shwag. :D

Interesting. Y'know, I have grandparents who own a summer house in NH, so sometimes I spend a week or two there. Probably not this summer, but I'll ask you where in NH anyway.

Hey, should I really buy a s754 A64, when I can get a sempron? I don't see myself using Windows x64 for a very long time, so i'm confused.

imo just go 64, you can get used 64's on the forums for like $90

Im up in Bartlet, right near Attatash mountain and North Conway. Its kinda boring, but at least theres tons of minigolfing and watersliding, also, i havent located a lazertag center, but i have located an alpine slide and a Whales Tail water park. w00t for watersliding!

and, yea just go a64, you will be able to overclock better, but the overclock wont be as powerful, the 256k or in some cases 128k of l2 cache kills ya, and that vs the full 1mb powa of a DTR claw.

until i return again, keep lovin s754!

Ah i see. That's nowhere near Concord.

How can you ever support crap like Socket 939!?

Don't read my sig past the first line oh lordy

i think either ccu or i will be the last of the management to still use s754 on a regular basis.. tsue is already planning his switch, and you're on the way :p

It's not MY fault, baron influenced me with peer pressure, and the lure of a well priced, pre-tested 3000+ venice...and the DFI board I've been waiting for finally came out....and my 3400+ is crap, you have to admit it lol. :p Your 3200+ ran the same as mine and you upgraded to the 3700+....which my board doesn't work correctly with, voltage wise...so it's stay loyal to 754 and get a 3700+ and a new DFI board (since lower newark's don't break the ownage) or for hella cheaper than those two get a DFI and a venice?

I'll still have a 754 machine running, so don't be hating. ;) 754 fo' life.

I'll still have a CPUless soltek nf3 250GB board with a gig of value vx in the slots in order to commemorate what matters to me.

OK guys, a little help here!

I OC'd my processor to 2.2 GHz and got a 3dMark score of 3568.
I OC'd my processor to 2.5 GHz and got a 3dMark score of 3551

It aint right I tells ya! Any ideas what I screwed up?

Processor is a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Undervolted/OC'd to 2.5GHz), Newcastle core, Stock cooling

well you should go up a little, however sounds like you're using 03 or 05 which doesnt have barely any cpu influence at all  try 01

My 3200+ DTR won't OC for crap with a VNF-250/PC-4000 Ballistix.

Won't boot at 250x9 3-4-4-10, 1.6vcore & 2.9vdimm.

=(

any ideas?

Have you tried lower the voltage a bit under stock? It actually helps in a lot of cases.

LeArN2LiVe said:
What is the stock voltage for the a64 DTR's? THe VNF-250 isn't really clear on it.

Desktop stock voltage is 1.5v
DTR stock voltage is 1.5v
Mobile stock voltage is 1.4v
RevE Mobile is 1.35v
