Love your socket 754?

OFF TOPIC:
Not worthy of any further discussion...

Anyone make any headway on a page/site? Do we need to everyone PM or email a central person to make a list of members?

thw webpage could be doable ;)

and if you're gonna pm someone, tsue would be the man to talk to.. being the pr guy an all :D

sempron 3100 at 270x9
DFI UT 250GB

getting a DTR 3000+ soon that suicides at 3GHz on air  2.8 stable :p

First Official Competition:
Highest HTT on a socket 754 board!

I want to see how many megatransfers you guys can pump through those HT links!

As it stands, the ranks are as follows:
Code:
1. (cf)Eclipse - [B]425[/B]
2. robberbaron - [B]410[/B]
3. tsuehpsyde - [B]330[/B]
4. Borgschulze - [B]325[/B]
5. CCUABIDExORxDIE- [B]300[/B]
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Since we are the president and vice president, it's expected that we have the highest rank (initially :p ) So get out there and get the HTT's!
I want a CPU-Z verification and a screenshot if possible. Screenshot isnt totally necessary, but it helps me skim through.

A word of advice... use the 2.5x LDT multi for best results.

Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just a list of members...maybe the name could be a link to their [H] profile? That way if someone needs help or would like to contact other members, they wouldn't have to sift through this thread (which with all the crapping that's going on and off topic stuff, is kind of a mess now :() trying to figure who is in or out of the club...they could just check the list.

though i'm convinced 2.0 would work better... if it actually worked :p

that sounds like a good plan. i'll discuss and possibly assign someone to the webpage. they would have to have good html skills, possibly php if you wanna go that far, and be willing to update every time tsue updates his list :p

i have a site as well with "unlimited" space and "unlimited" bandwidth. i have been with the hosting company for a little over a year, and it has been great so far. the hosting costs me $10 a year, and the domain is $7 a year for a .com.

I am sure with all these members we could get about $20 together and get a real site. i would be willing to donate $5 to get the fund started, thats 1/4th of the total we need. Now we just need someone with some web skillz to make it look nice :)

edit: did some ebay hunting and found this hosting for $4 a year

hmmm, that looks interesting. we still haven't had anyone step forward to take the page design spot though :D

later this week i might have a very nice suprise for you guys...i don't want to spoil it though. Someone on this board knows.

I'm having trouble deciding between a s939 system with a Epox 9npa NF4 ultra board with a crap PCI-E card (6200) or a s754 system with a DFI Lanparty NF3 with a 3000+ Newcastle and a 6800GT, what should I do? I don't care about the future, I just want a system that will take care of the games coming out for the next 1 1/2 years at the least. I'm worried about the lack of dual-channel on 754 though.

Stupid MSI and it's lack of chipset voltage. Highest HTT I've gotten is 317MHz on stock chipset voltage....I'll try to go higher for shits later. Nothing else to do with no internet. :p

that's about where my neo tops out too..

though the dfi could do 390mhz with stock (1.6v), i bumped it up to 1.7v for 425mhz. by then, the ht link is being pushed too far out of spec, and i don't have any lower working ht link multi's :(

coldday.JPG

A cold day today :)
Using Zalman 7000B-AlCu
Stock video card cooler.

XP-90C. If it wasn't heatpipe oriented, it would be a lot cooler. Oh well.
This is at 1.45v and 10x250.

Time for some Sunday afternoon overclocking fun! I'm going to try to take my 2600+ to as high as it can go and remain stable. I will post screenies later.

:(

Not going so well. The most I can get prime95 stable on the stock cooling is 8*281 at bios setting of 1.6 volts. Either the Epox overvolts the core a lot or incorrectly senses the voltage because CPUZ and Epox's included monitoring utility reported the voltage as 1.7.

I am wondering if the culprit could either be the motherboard or the power supply. I have an Enermax Noisetaker on the way, but I guess I am a little impatient and wanted to play around I used a cheapie 430watt Coolermaster (19A 12v+) I had that was going into a machine I was building for someone else.

Summary:

8*281 = 2248mhz
HT Link Multi = 3x
Core Voltage = 1.6v in the bios (1.7v in CPUz)
Temp = 46c under load

did you mean to post that in the revE thread? ;)
(or is it a revD, possibly C sempron? :p )

It's revision D...
There are no Rev C S754 Semprons as far as I know.
And the Revision E have not hit store shelves. Well the slower ones haven't.

I really can't complain though. It feels a lot faster than the 333fsb 3200+ I was running. Even if I can't get any more out of it I think it will hold out until I am ready to go with XP64. Then I'll probably go with a Newcastle 3400+.

this is true, i kinda forgot about this :p

though there is the 3300+.. which i believe is really a sempron64. not sure though

haha, your highest stable clock is also 2.8ghz, so ill trade you my 2800+ for your newark anyday. the 9x multi is rewarding!

In case anyone didn't already know, we have an IRC channel set up for some chit-chat over @ GameSurge. The server address is irc.us.gamesurge.net and the channel is #[H]s754club

Thanks!

he hit 3.1ghz, it was insane! he opened all the windows in his dorm, and let the temps get WAY low, and sucided the crap outta the chip.

This is why I need a smallish computer room with major overkill AC to keep it around 40F or so.

i think there mighta been, the old 130nm semprons. im pretty fure those were rev c's.

yea, those boards overvolt like .1v's some people hate it cause they run at stock, and it give HELLA high idle temps.

Didn't you get like 3.1 or something because of lower room temp at the time?
yup, on air, ambient was around 14-15c :D

and evem so, 3100/12 = 258 :p

yes you can. youve already added it to your sig. thats quite the rig you have. a gig of mushkin redline. i like that ram
