He can't even understand what the video stated. Let alone I stated the same thing, he didn't even know it was time stamped, so he made shit up lol. He never watched that video before for the most part yet he comes in here thinks I made things up out of thin air.

Anyway, I'm curious about that "sound radar" feature listed in the Asus motherboard. I assume they have that on some of their newer Intel offerings as well. Almost seems like cheating...

This launch couldn't be more exciting. I am sure people are testing away as we speak with plenty of leaks to show up. Now if he Ryzen chip overclock to 4.3 and 4.4 in first silicon on AIO That will be some achievement cuz my 6850k dead locks at 4.4ghz. After that even insane amount of voltage doesn't help. So I have settled for that especially when I got it from retail edge for 230 out the door . I don't plan on changing anytime soon but I am happy for everyone who can buy a decent processor at decent price without being ass raped by intel!

I mean it's fine, but they're just rehashing the same rumors we've read for over a week already on prices.... But over the course of 10+ minutes instead of one tidy PNG it's all based on in the first place.

I'll have to assume the prices we've seen so far, but nothing new here.

I think unless someone risks their job or breaks NDA stupidly, we're not likely to hear much reliably before reviews are allowed.
 
I hate to break it for you. But 5% turbo or no turbo doesn't explain 17% faster ST and 27% faster MT, that at stock means 4Ghz. So just drop the BS.
He said he did it at 3.8ghz

2000 * 3.8 / 4 = 1900 which apears to be correct.

CPUZ is legacy code integer heavy and Integer is a strong point

The CPU-Z bench is like 10 lines of code and nothing but a clock counting bench. Also 3.8Ghz? Your own link contradicts it. And it still doesn't explain the performance..

The B350 motherboards are great prices.
But people need to appreciate those really nice X370 motherboards being linked into various threads here are going to be as expensive as the Intel X99 boards.
Cheapest X370 seems to be around $170 and expensive ones around $300.

I still wish they made it Quad channel, in IMC heavy benches the quad channel gives it a good synthetic boost. They obviously wanted to keep it cheeper.

I doubt X99 level unless entry level X99, My X99 board was about 400USD and that is not even the most expensive. I think the top end X370 will filter around the 300USD mark.

Yes but remember that entry X99 had to have a high spec in terms of PCIe lanes/sata/lane distribution/DIMM slots and memory clocks/etc
Entry X99 were not even $300, still expensive but a bit cheaper than that at $250 at launch back when, and today still around $250 if launching late last year - this is looking at the Asus lower X99 boards and is still much higher spec in some ways to the usual Haswell/Skylake motherboards.

And fair to say these are more niche as they support limited number of CPUs that are far from mainstream in terms of units sold.
The link in my previous post showed top end ones X370 at $300 so far, cheapest being $175 it seems so far.
But yeah my point was around the more expensive X370 models being linked into various threads and members need to have the expectation on prices, thankfully though they are not needed for most consumers.

I Think this is a realistic outcome, going to stick with Haswell/HSW-E clock for clock do to the similarties.

Going on David Kanter's interview by Zen+ updates AMD will likely want to keep inproving branch predict and other aspects of the IMC. 14% on SKL/KBL is very believable, that is more or less where my Haswell parts are given they have low clock speed.

Ryzen is a hybrid, taking pure enthusiast features ie: big core counts and trying to stream them onto mainstream level and per Kanter, they did a remarkable job at that. The sacrifices had to be made, Quad Channel and PCI lanes are just some acceptable tradeoffs to make.
 
The IMC is outsourced so AMD doesn't have anything as such to say in that matter. Its 3rd party IP.

Its quite a long time since AMD last time developed a memory controller.
 
It means more work with the sourcing partner, while harder it is doable and considering the corportion size they are doing very well.

Just that there is plenty of enthusiasm in some threads for the nicest X370 boards but my post was the 1st time we saw any concrete pricing for such boards, and they are around the price of X99 albeit the lower models (but lower models with a very high spec due to X99).
Personally though for $300 it better have a lot going for it compared to the cheaper X370 models.
I can see quite a few though going with B350 on 6-core and cheaper 8-core without fully considering what the tradeoffs may be.

one party i know who writes and also tests for Asus and its associates mentions that high end X370 boards will cost the same as 1150-1151 comparable boards.

MSI has one X370 at $179 and the other X370 at $300.
The $300 board still has some aspects-specs weaker than the lower priced X99 boards but may not necessarily matter much for most consumers such as 4 DIMM instead of 8 DIMM, and of course less PCIe lanes that will be applicable to all of the AM4 boards (Buildzoid touched upon this in one of his vids linked not long ago by some others).

I have been strongly advised to buy Asus or Asrock if you are going to buy upfront, both manufacturers apparently have the best working boards ready to hit shelfs now.

My post was only on pricing not that you had to buy them or a recommendation :)
But interesting to know, yeah Asrock seems to have a strong following on AMD.
I would not buy any though until 1st reviews, never know what bugs may come out in reviews for motherboad manufacturer, fingers crossed none but never know with a complete new platform and CPU support.

Goodness!! I can't be the only one that's lurking 3 or 4 threads in this AMD forum that is tired of the back and forth over who's more right in regards to the minutiae...

I found your post very enlightening and on topic about leaked Ryzen benchmarks. There plenty of good threads as long as you put some people on ignore (Think Kyle told me that :) )
 
If you check the webcache links for Asus X370 products and come away with OC 3200+ supported and then check the wccftech link for the MSI X370 it lists that it supports OC 3600 and OC 4000 . is this an error where they just listed Intel mainboard memory speeds ? Supposedly the chipset itself would support up to 3200.

Yeah I was wondering the same, whether WCCFT got their facts wrong or comes down to board design (seems unlikely).
We got any idea where this board fits in the Asus X370 products?

Prob a lot like my 8350 and the Asus board I have. The 8350 had a 1866 max support but many of the boards had up to 2133 ( maybe a 2400 in there somewhere ). My board list up to 2133 but I have 2400 in it now.
 
regarding latest WCCFT scores.
Also worth noting that as a single thread Broadwell-E behaves differently, without OC it will still go beyond the basic boost ceiling for a single core/thread to the Max Tech 3.0 Frequency and that is 3.8Ghz according to Intel spec for 6800K
Normal range is 3.4 to 3.6GHz for multiple cores.

So that also has to be factored in as well for increasing the Intel score a little bit, so looking good as it is basing Intel data off Anandtech AND if the 'leak' is not fake.
However.
This is good vs the HEDT models but different story with 4-core and their strengths at single core benchmarking: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/CPU/1028
The 7700K has a score of 193, which is 32% higher but then games are still more than 1 core, albeit influencing game performance quite a fair bit for those that are not highly threaded.

For further HEDT models with their Max Tech 3.0 Frequency for single cores:
6850K is 4GHz when single core with a score of 152 Vs the score of 146 for the 6Core 3.7GHz boost Ryzen.


But I would take most of the results for Ryzen cautiously for now as difficult to tell those that are true tests.
