Verification for BBY employees last year was a complete diaster. The program was exteneded and we had to wait until February to get the product. That was a bummer.

Maybe, this year will be different.

I have a live event on Thursday coming up, so hopefully that will speed things up.

Rubbish, just checked my order status and bad news. They are backordered. What a crock of crap. Only 30 minutes into the event and they are out of stock.

Send them an copy of your paystub through e-mail. Ask them before hand and block out the sensitive parts (Social Security, how much you make...).
 
Hmm, send who a copy where? I thought after last year I would get instant verification since I ordered and received last years bundle, but I am not. I would be willing to do this to verify my employment also. Although, if they are already backordered.... :mad: And there are no local events. Nearest one is in Indianapolis (4 hrs away!).
 
Last year they called my store. Office Depot. I just happened to answer the phone. They say they are with Intel and they ask if that person works there.
 
woot, rank 2681. now i just have to hope i get it before christmas. my store is at the end of the alphabet, and i suspect that that makes an unfavorable difference.

Awwwww crap. I hope it doesn't take TOO long. At least it's a little (hopefully, just a little) extra time to order the rest of the crap i need. Maybe 2gb of ddr2 will dropp to $100 in the next couple weeks? And G80 will come out for $200? Ok... maybe not. :(

Usually for these verification things, I send them (the account suport e-mail) an e-mail and the problems is solved. I verified it through a live event so that doesn't help you out.

It means that 7,734 people have more chips than you, but I dont think it makes any difference in your priority
 
Despite being in the program last year, i still have to go through verification this year. Its annoying but ill get verified and everything will be fine.

cool (I like barely made it, with 12100 or something chips)

so it says they're going to verify with my employers. How do they do this? I don't have to send in a copy of my paycheck or anything do I? (some sites you are supposed to)
Or will they do everything themselves, then let me know when I'm verified.
 
hrm...I'm gonna try e-mailing them with my work e-mail if I need to I'll send them my paystub as well via scanner. (dunno how to work the fax machine, don't like it)
 
All Retail Edge Bundles are ON HOLD until Micr$oft provides the Vista RC1 O/S. At present it is a 6 - 8 week lead time for this software. Then when Vista Ultimate is released Retail Edge will ship this.

Too bad we have to wait, as I would load Win XP 64 bit on the machine.

Until then...
 
Hmmm, wondered what was going on. When i first registered it said i was chip count 7634 and now its gone up to 7689 I have enough chips at 12970.
 
Someone call Intel in order to confirm if they are in fact shipping the bundles in January, I can't because my wonderful university denies all out-of-city calls and T-mobile refuses to put a tower here.

MAJOR UPDATE: I was able to get a hold of a phone that works and called Intel. Horrible news people. They said that they never had anything in stock because they were missing the RC1 discs from Microsoft. To make matters worse, they said that it might take 6-8 weeks to ship everything out because everything is missing, which by then Vista might as well be out. Made my day worse.

EDIT: Called Intel again to ask if they could ship the bundle without the RC1 disc and they said that they couldn't because it's one SKU. This is not nice. :mad:
 
With the new horrid license terms on Vista, will this even be a worthwile thing to wait for? Unless they are giving us a retail key to use for retail versions down the road I am going to pass on this.

He said that it was temporary, which I find incredibly foolish because by the time we actually get the bundle, the "gold" version will be out a few days later. He assured me we would get the gold version a few weeks later.

To my knowledge, it is NOT the Gold Version, but Ultimate.

Here is the email answer I got from the retailedge program concerning similar questions. I guess the real answer is that no one really knows what will ship, or even when...

Once you have registered there will be a form for you to fill out and fax into
us along with a copy of your most recent pay stub or notice of direct deposit.

verified we will send you a Purchase Code to order your Bundle. Shipping
timelines beyond that point will be based off of the Shipping Option you chose

Hmm...lots of people seemed to be having problems getting verified but I got no problem at all. Went on website, clicked register/verify, and boom, my purchase code spits out :). I don't really mind waiting since I'm going to pawn off the board and OS anyway, the chip I'll keep :D. Funny part of this whole situation is, I've already quit working at CompUSA for like a month already. Hahaha, thank god for slow human resources.

yeah, it didn't tell me how to verify employment... I thought they just called the store or something. If there's a form that's fine but I never saw it.

I'm stuck at 11000 points, having completed every cahllenge. Anyone know How i can score more,
I've also done the toolbox downloads, any other suggestions

Also whats with that Code box on the retail page?
 
When you go to live events, they give out codes.

Wait til next month they'll give new challenges.
 
i tried to fax my employment verification to the number they provided and alls i got was a busy signal, anyone else get this too?
 
Well , i got my email and even through i had 11925 chips... i got my code and my order has been placed. :)
