Forza 3... Who's Getting It?

No, Blackmagix owns Forza Central, BADNED will not come out and say if he works for T10, it's all speculation, but considering he knows the full car list, all the features in the game, and gives us heads up about what/when reveals will take place (before that Che guy) but says he is "not allowed to reveal them" we all pretty much assume he works for T10 (he will not confirm nor deny).

Usually when someone won't confirm nor deny something it means that it's a "yes".

Glad to see there are more interesting tracks this time. This is what Forza and Forza 2 had in common, too many (much of the same) boring tracks.

I wish I had played Forza 2 enough to unlock more cars. With Forza 3 coming out soon (and I impatiently await it), it would feel like a waste to try and unlock much in Forza 2.

Would be nice to be able to design cars like the auction community does :)

I can't wait for November when my Fanatec wheel is supposed to arrive. I really hope they pull it off faster than that though. =/

Don't count on it. Word is they're even further behind schedule than anticipated.

Not based on their latest update. They're actually targeting pre-forza shipment for all orders placed before last week. Everything ordered before this month ago should still be hitting in September (not mine though, I only ordered recently).

Hrm, thought a guy on FC was complaining because he ordered it months ago and it wasn't arriving till early November, maybe it's just my memory going though.

If he ordered it months ago he would have been in the September shipment. The last update said this:

We are now waiting for final approval from MS and already prepare production. As we will ship the first units by air shipment we are confident to deliver all open orders which have been ordered until June 2009 at the end of September. The rest of the open orders will be shipped in October and if you place an order now you can expect to get your product in November.

The schedule is still not 100% confirmed as there are many uncertainties. I will keep you up to date once we get the final approval and start manufacturing.

UPDATE 1

We just heard that the last remaining bugs are solved now. Tests will be continued but now they are only testing things which we have already passed with earlier versions so I am confident that development is finished now

UPDATE 2

We have the technical apporval of MS and we started the production of the electronics and semi finished components. Next week we want to start to assembly the wheels and ship them immediatly by airfreight. This is horrible expensive but only takes a few days.

Out of curiosity (if ya don't mind me asking) how much did you pay for your Fanatec wheel after shipping and all?

be careful with the hardware that's being pushed out too early to meet a deadline ;)

£400 (That's GBP). Rather than converting that to USD (the exchange rate is screwed at the mo) I'll just say it's about the same price as a 360 and a PS3 combined.

(lol)

Wowz...no offense but that is a ripoff. I guess it's the price you must pay for a decent wheel.

That's like the price of a G25 + a Playseats Evolution.

It's the price of a G27 + metal pedals... like it or not. It's not really fair to compare a brand new limited run product with full platform compatibility to a 4 year old mass produced wheel that doesn't.

Yeah, but I'm still not convinced that the Fanatec is built particularly well. A fanatec rep came on to the FC boards a few months ago and I never really got any straight answers out of him.

Check the reviews, they tell you all you really need to know. The 911 Turbo wheel is virtually identical, just minus the 360 support.

The 911 Turbo (from what the Fanatec rep told me) has alot of plastic parts in it that they've replaced with metal parts for the Turbo S.

There will be all sorts of improvements but they're still pretty much the same wheel. They have a constant evolution thing going on based on feedback from the product beta testers and owners.

Seriously, is there anyone know will NOT be getting this game???

Stereophile.

That aside... know what I really love? The fact that there's no online achievements in this game. I F**K*NG HATE online achievements.

Me too, Sir. BTW, the videos in the link you provided take forever to load. :(

Yeah, the site is being battered. Better to just click the "download in hd" button and leave it running.

Well, there was only 1 online achievement with Forza 2, but it was tough to get. Thankfully I raced every week with a group of guys for fun and finally got it. I actually got curious last week to see what my total online credits are up to now, I'm up to 1.7 million. Kinda baffles me, it seemed to take FOREVER to get the 1 million and now I've almost doubled it without thinking about it?

Not really a lot they could do about that. It wasn't announced in time to be included in the game.

Who knows, maybe it'll be a freebie for xmas. :)

Also announcing other cars that could have been in-game though.

IMHO it's almost as bad as EPIC releasing DLC 2-3 weeks after Gears 2 was released.

Car list as of 9/22
Updating car list.

I'm not saying it's always the case, but there's times where the developers have to meet deadlines, remain within a set budget, etc., that they have to get the game gold and THEN they work on DLC. By the time the game ships, after having gone gold, the DLC isn't too far behind it. Really the game might have been finalized much earlier.

One car for a game that won't be coming out for a month yet seems quite suspicious, but every time I see this sort of thing brought up (which is almost all the time) I have to roll my eyes. Even if the DLC comes out over a month or two later somebody somewhere will say “This should have been in the game.”

True, but showing the DLC off more than a month before release makes me suspicious...

It's because the car was unveiled today at the Frankfurt motorshow (hence the GT and Forza vids). The game went gold 2 weeks ago... I'm not sure what you want. :p

yea i saw both videos and i wont say which one looked better. either way its good that BOTH games will have this car
