Re: water purifier output

I read on Reddit that someone fixed the issue where excess Purified Water wouldn't be put into the Workshop by storing the purifier and then re-placing it. I tried this, and added a couple more as well, and eventually it did proc (ended up with 90 or so Purified Water in the Workshop) so maybe it worked? However I played for several hours and again it only procced once.

Built 4x40 water purifiers at Sanctuary. Slept for over 24 hours and no excess water production in workshop inventory.

Then spent 30 minutes or so running around the extreme NW part of the map and went back to the vault to grab the cryolator, came back to Sanctuary and had 112 water.

So I think it's probably tied to real time rather than game time. Which makes sense if they wanted to avoid people just sleeping for 2400 hours straight and being rich afterwards.

Except I've played for 14 or 15 hours now and it's procced twice, ever. So either it's horribly bugged or it's tied to something else so far unknown. I think it's honestly just bugged and needs a patch.
 
Finally going to re-do the Concord mission on my 2nd character after spending forever looting everything everywhere. :D
Did find another suit of PA near Sanctuary, and a Mini-gun off a raider which had a ton of ammo in one of their lairs so shouldn't have to worry about running out when i do the Concord mission.
Hope to be able to play more this weekend as i'm on 12's at work and only get to play only in 1/2 hour segments once or twice a day.
 
I think if your settlement Defense exceeds double your Food+Water, then random attacks stop happening. Simply having more than Food+Water doesn't stop them entirely.
All of my settlements are at 24+24, and I boosted their defenses to a flat 100. Haven't had any attacks in about 10 hours of gameplay. Or if they still happen (and they might) it becomes rarer the higher your defense goes. It might operate on a simple timer based on your defenses.

Which caused me to think the first Codsworth encounter to be bugged as I thought he was stuck, not realising that he had a conversation after we search the second house, because I thought his remark that the spouse and baby isn't in that house was just a comment, not an actual conversation as I could still move about, in FO3/Skyrim, I would have been movement locked as soon as I talked to it

Anyway, a question with a Yes/No answer. Is there Romance in this game? For both genders/all orientations?

Yes with nearly all of them and from what I understand it is sex blind so play as female or male and you can romance all except dogmeat and cogsworth.

if you romance curie you can get her upgraded to a synth human body

Yeah, sorry, as a programmer by trade, no. There isn't an excuse for half the bugs in this. There is a difference between something small like the picture of dogmeat clipping through the door, and some of the game breaking problems. Lack of support for non 16:9 resolutions, plethora of major graphical bugs, completely game breaking bugs. These things do not belong in any game that has gone gold. Glitches, clipping through doors, small things like that, fine.
 
Your UI elements will be fucked up though. You will have to hunt for modded interfaces because Bethesda still doesn't know how to properly build a game UI.

Yep but it should be playable.

Question: I know that when you store junk at workshops it's available at any workshop, but does this apply to armor and weapon stations as well?

I'd feel pretty stupid if this whole time I could store any excess items I'm carrying at any workshop/station during a mission or while roaming, and the items would be available anywhere else.
 
The armor and weapon stations are the same thing as the red Warehouse station, all 3 act as the same entity. Each settlement has its own warehouse, however Supply Lines will allow you to access all of them through settlement building ONLY. If you open a warehouse you will still only access that settlement's warehouse.

So no, you can't store weapons and armor in your warehouse and access them from anywhere. You will only be able to see them in the settlement where you stored them.

It would be really nice if all the warehouses were unified into a single warehouse via supply lines. That would make things a lot easier.
 
All of my settlements are minimalistic to free up as much building space as possible.
4 people on food (Mutfruit only) to make 24 total, everyone else is on scavenging stations.

To save space on beds, I use the roofed wooden prefabs around the perimeter. I put turrets ontop and beds below. That way I can cover the whole area in defense, as well as putting up 26 beds without having to build any extra units. Some of the settlements (Covenant) actually run out of space before being fully constructed...

Sometimes it looks fine (I'd never go so far as to say "great", but "fine") then I'll walk somewhere else and it'll look like complete and utter shit. I tried ENBoost as some people (I think on reddit) were claiming it helped, but it just made all the characters look plastic. Ideas?

I'm in for info on this as well. I feel like every time I run up to things quickly they have miserable textures that take a while to load. The door at Cambridge police station is a common one.
 
I'm definitely liking the story so far. I just went through the quest "Getting a clue" which was fun. Lots of good loot throughout the areas it takes you. I also like how you can have dog meat and another companion with you. Stopped working on my settlements for a while so I can stock up on resources. Having a companion with you to carry extra shit really helps out and you can gather up a ton of shit within an hour running through scavenging areas. I don't have supply lines yet. I store all my junk in the sanctuary workshop.

I don't use power armor much at all really. Right now I'm keeping it stored at sanctuary along with my mini gun and Fatman stored in a container near by. So if I need to get some serious firepower I'll just fast travel to sanctuary and suit up, grab the mini gun and Fatman and then I'll be set to take on anything.

To make caps I've been selling a few things. Purified water, cigarette cartons and prewar money has gotten me a good amount of caps, I'd recommend stocking up on them when you can.

I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs. Only minor pixelation under godrays and companion clipping. Nothing that's bothered me. Aside from the problems I had booting the game in the beginning, which I got around within 15 minutes and has been fine since.

I finally found some Mutfruit so I can get my adhesive production operation going. :cool:

you scrapped. i scrapped the chem station and now i cant build one either :D

It was near the other workbenches for me.

I think there is one at the Red Rocket that you could store and re-place maybe? Not sure.

Yes. It's pretty much right by the weapons station, but on the ground, not in the little carport or whatever. There is (was) a little cinder block wall behind it.

OK thanks guys. Then I definitely scrapped it! Will see if i get one from another location and drop it in the workbench if i can then access it from sanctuary.

I'm amazed there hasn't been ANYTHING yet done with the game, news of patches, patches, SLI drivers, etc.

you'd think they would have been all over the SLI thing with nvidia/amd
 
Can you build a settlement and not actually have settlers? I wanna make like a bad ass castle/fort something or other but don't really want settlers mucking about getting stuck on things and what have you.

Yup. AFAIK you also don't have to worry about it getting attacked if no one lives there.

Honestly, I think it's more Bethesda clinging to this hunk-of-shit engine resulting in no SLI/CFX profiles than anything. If the engine wasn't a giant steaming pile of fuck-everything-in-the-world-twice you know Nvidia or AMD would have had day one drivers out, cause everyone knew this would be huge. Blame Bethesda and their laziness/insistence on continuing to reanimate a 10 year old engine, not the GPU makers.
 
AMD have a driver supporting CF now.
Reports are that it works well.

There have been a few methods of getting SLI to work posted by users.

Give it some time. You just know some modder is going to make some canine love mod available. :D
