Elder Scrolls 6 (VI)

I predict non-binary vikings
Already done as of the latest companion character set ;). As well as questlines where it is always racist as to who the bad guy is. Every single time. I hope they never redo the older game zones... They're updating the art in them but they had better not touch the quests!

Will we see an Elder Scrolls 6 Reveal This Year?

yes we will...hopefully...Bethesda announced a few months ago that Elder Scrolls 6 has left pre-production and that development is now underway...hopefully that means less people working on Starfield...maybe we'll get a proper teaser at the 2025 Game Awards in December

In other words don't expect a release anytime soon. At least 3 years away, if not closer to 5. Unless they manage to speed up development over previous games but seeing how they lost their way over the past decade I am not sure if speeding up the process will help them. I suppose they can have an issue of "over direction" and constant re-design, but it seems more like they just forgot what made their games fun in the first place.

I'm expecting (hoping) for a new trailer at the Game Awards in December...don't let me down Geoff Keighley

Personally, I don't expect anything much. It's been over a decade since Skyrim and Starfield was underwhelming. I think games made by fans inspired by TES will be better than anything Microsoft will come up with.

Not at all. The horizon is static, as if you're running at a painting.
First off, I think you've missed the point entirely. Second off, if you drag the slider left to right the background does slowly zoom in and change perspective.

A 3D open world game that looks oil painted pixel art like that would be amazing.

After all these years I want something with graphics that don't look 3 generations old. I don't want anything stylized in an odd way or anything I'm going to get sick of after a week. If TES6 doesn't at least look on par with Starfield or Avowed, it's going to be disappointing.

I can't believe Bethesda released that trailer back in 2018...what were they thinking releasing it before the game was even in the concept phase??!!

They are very savvy marketers. They realize hype is what keeps them afloat, thats how they made so many sales of Starfield, to pre-order or day 1 buyers who had no idea of the actual (bad) game they were buying. So they know how to maximize anticipation.

They were thinking we can do whatever the fuck we want because the game will sell a billion copies.

And let’s not go to the Starfield numbers. Clearly, Bethesda’s base wanted another Elder Scrolls, not Starfailed.

Reminder that Morrowind was Todd's baby. I can agree about Emil, though. Thankfully he only writes the Fallout games AFAIK.

He is another Randy Pitchfraud. Basically a car salesman but for video games. Lies with a smile on his face.
At least Todd is actually a good designer and developer. Has Randy ever finished anything he started? Seems like all the maps he worked on for Shadow Warrior and Duke 3D were finished by other people.

I don't feel that Todd is particularly good at those things, and if he was that was like 15 year ago. Times have changed, standards have evolved and he has not kept up with them.

you almost forget that he's a designer as he seems more like a marketing guy now...he's always the guy presenting and talking about the games at the big events...hyping up the features and gameplay

BGS is no longer the plucky crew of die-hard nerds who make fun, focused games for other die-hard nerds filled with quirks, in-jokes and "you had to be there" moments.

They are now a multi-million-dollar profit-focused studio owned by a trillion-dollar conglomerate.

Their products are going to be as safe, sanitised, devoid of any real conflict or message, attempting to tick the boxes of as many demographics as possible.

They used to make wacky mom-and-pop burgers out of a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They weren't gourmet but they were full of flavour and had a certain homey charm.

Now they mass-produce BGS-Macs, factory designed by a committee with the meat patty reduced to the perfect size and the assembly process using as little sauce as possible to maximise the profit of the final product.

He hasn't done any design work since Morrowind. He was director on recent games, but that is more of a managerial job.

Yeah, screw those guys for wanting to be successful and make money. Nobody should be in the business for making money, am I right?

No clue how involved Todd is with Fallout 76 these days, but the recent (from the last 2-3 years) content is pretty phenomenal. I'd be happy if that team was involved with the new TES game.

Looks like you willfully missed the point of Kaze's post
