It depends on the CPU, I wanted to use my FX-55 Clawhammer CPU in the Micro Fly. I needed a better better performing CPU cooler like the 9500 or NT06, so the CPU would not overheat and shut the system down under heavy gaming load.sleepeeg3 said:Temps are relative and meaningless, but the CNPS9500 probably gives you a 4 degree edge over a Zalman 7000. You dont need to take out the whole rail for it to fit, either.

What kind of desk is that? I've been looking for something new and I love the way that looks.dworley said:

No mods required, you can slide it in attached to the mobo / Tray.Geekdad said:I was thinking about getting the Blue Orb for my E6400 I have the same case. Looking at these pics it appears to fit nicely, but did you have to mod/do anything extra to get it in and working? I cant tell. I'm not sure if it will slide back into the case once I attach it. Just wondering.
I tried the 8800GTX in my QMICRA and it fit nicely, so I installed a second 8800GTX in SLI and then proceeded to stress the system to check cooling performance and was very impressed.MC FLMJIG said:It seems you can fit a 7900gtx even with the Hard drives in plcae. You would have to take the HD out if you want to put the 8800GTX in there... would you also have to cut a bit of the 5.25 as well?
You have some really like sff's. Thanks for showing them.

I just saw this thread and wanted to say what a beautiful job you've done. This should be required reading for anyone planning a SFF build.
LOL it could have saved me hundreds of trial and error hours on my CrossFlow comp.
Beautiful WorkMark

Edit - XFX barebone is available at newegg now also
Where do you find this case? What is a reasonable price since I have only been able to find barebones kits for $600+
This case is not made by XFX, its made buy a company called scan computers in the uk. there showreoom is located in manchester, and the case is called 3XS Isotope.
here are some of the others they do http://www.scan.co.uk/shops/isotope/?_s_icmp=shiso
Actually the XFX case was originally made by http://www.pype.net
(however their link now forwards to http://www.invasion.fr and it looks like they have several new case designs!)
Dworley, which case is on this desk? I think it's the perfect size for me.

So I cant decide if I want to build an mATX box or tower at this point. I was looking over your pictures and I like several of these cases so far (off of purely looks of course).
-Shuttle SN26P
-Shuttle SN25P
-Silverstone SG01-B Evolution
-SN21G5
Those are the ones I am interested in. I have a few questions though. First off where can you purchase most of these. I am having the hardest time finding anything for the shuttles especially for an E4300. Barebones, case only, doesnt matter just something to see what the prices are on these.
Out of the ones listed above:
1) Which allow for pull size video cards without modification to the case
2) Which has the best cooling
3) Which will ultimately have the most overclocking potential base on the Mobo they come with (If they do indeed come with one) and of course the cooling or ability add decent fans.
Which would you recommend for someone looking to build either an E4300-E4400 base computer with a higher end video card (X19XX series or maybe 8800GTS)?
If you are looking to overclock a C2D E4300 and want to use a high end video card - there is really only one good choice currently.
I would suggest the SG01 with an Abit Fatality F-I90HD. I easily overclocked my C2D E4300 to 3.06ghz (9x340) with this setup in my Fragbox (which is essentially an SG01)
I would also recommend the Silverstone NT06 Lite CPU cooler. One of the SFF forum regulars has his own store and stocks most of the items you would need! SFFSTORE.COM
Did you have any trouble installing the NT06 on the F-190HD board, I can't tighten the screw next to the northbridge, fingers won't fit. Did you take off the NB cooler to install it?

What about the MicroFly MX6 w/600W XVS PSU. That looks like a fairly large case with decent cooling and a decent PSU. How would that compare to the SG01?
The cooling is definitely better on the MX6, it's a personal preference as to the styling and aesthetics that appeal to you vs. cooling performance. My Fragbox runs hotter than just about any other case but I really like the styling and high quality brushed aluminum finish with the windows.![]()
Are the SFF's noisier than a normal tower?
The SG01 Build quality is definitely better in my opinion, there are numerous reviews of the MicroFly which is identical to the MX6 for internals (the only difference is the faceplate) The Microfly cools somewhat more effectively than the SG01 as it has a 120mm fan directly above and behind the CPU cooler.I like the SGO1 but there is one thing I hate. That face plate should be flush with the top of the box, that little hump annoys me for some reason.
In terms of overall build quality how does the SGO1 compare to the MX6? Would you happen to have a size comparison.
What is the reason for the better cooling on the MX6? I thought the SGO1-E had new and improved cooling.
Do you happen to have reviews for the MX6, either by you or anyone else. I cannot find anything.

any comments?
