They've already been working on it for longer than they worked on DA2. That's got to be a good thing.
They also seem to have been working on it before DA2 was released...

The only thing that bothers me about DA3 is Bioware/EA trying so hard to pretend they care about player feedback. Many of the problems with DA2 were obvious, and it didn't take a genius to figure out that removing party member customization and re-using the same maps REPEATEDLY was going to be an issue.
It's like selling someone a BLT, but they left out the bacon. Then they launch a PR campaign that wants to know why people didn't like the BLT.
man what are you smoking, thats asking way to much
EA also plans to announce that their games will no longer require Origin.
It it's "Inquisition" i'm gussing Morrigan wont be in it for long.
Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Announced
Cept I would say she will be. Just because it's an inquisition doesn't mean mages would somehow magically have no powers all of the sudden.
Also are you forgetting Flemeth? Just how powerful she is and what she can do? I would say Morrigan is just as powerful if not more so, I wouldn't write her off quickly at all.
Furthermore i'd say (if she is back) she'll have a large part of the story, I hope.
I'm a Bioware employee. They told me that EA would lay off on this one. And also EA plans to listen to fan feedback from now on. Almost forgot, EA also plans to announce that their games will no longer require Origin.

Here are some people who don't want to be associated with DA3 ;-)
Oops.
Maybe they were so stunned with how good DA3 is going to be, they couldn't handle the praise.

Rats leaving a sinking ship? EA up to their old tricks, a la Westwood Studios? After the backlashes from DA2, ME3 and the dropping subscription numbers of SW: TOR, they may see the writing on the wall.
Dunno why DA3 is already getting bashed. DA2 was pretty bad (I haven't even brought myself to play it yet) but DA:O was one of my favorite game of all time, and Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 were fantastic games. Yeah, 3's ending sucked, but the ~30 hours up until that point to me were amazing so I can't discredit that.
I'll take a wait and see approach.
Also, I'm not sure why people are upset about using Frostbite2? That engine is fantastic, scales well, looks great - DX11, modern features. What's not to like? You realize that MANY RPGs were powered by the UE3 engine, right?
Yea...and none of those "RPGs" were remotely close to the combat style of DA:O, they were all basically linear FPS games.

An engine doesn't define the types of games that can be made on it.
The engine doesn't dictate the play style, it's used for the rendering. People have built MMOs off CryEngine, and they don't play like CrysisYea...and none of those "RPGs" were remotely close to the combat style of DA:O, they were all basically linear FPS games.
I liked ME1's inventory and character customization more than ME2 or 3, but pretty much every other aspect of the next 2 games was better IMO. No more fucking side missions where you have to drive around a randomly generated planet, ugh.Lot's of us think that ME1>>ME2>ME3, DA:O>>>>DA2. Bioware quality has gone down over the years. It's hard to be optimistic.
I mean, I love the end of the Life of Brian, but that was satire.

I don't care too much about that. ME1 felt like a better story overall, as well. The ME3 story wasn't just bad at the end, there were more than a couple derper moments from the very start. I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy it, sadly.
Bioware has to pull a rabbit and a stripper out of their hat to wow anyone at this point.
As for Bioware impressing me anymore? Meh. Just give me a good game and I'm happy. Despite DA2 and ME3 I'm still willing to keep an eye on a Bioware RPG. They just confirmed that they're working on a new Mass Effect title so I'm quite curious what they're going to do.
Crazy. A new Mass Effect plus a new IP. I hate reading the following, though:
"But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game."
To me that says it's going to take place within the ME universe but along side the events as ME1-ME3. I'd really be bummed if it turned out to be something like that.
Bring together the main (living) protaganists from DA:O and DAII, unite them against Morrigan/Flemeth (or in cahoots with them, your choice!) and you've got a pretty damn good game. But do it under the auspices of the Grey Wardens damnit, they are way too badass to just drop from the story. I still remember the short little scene where they showed up in DA2, I restarted a previous save and tried every dialogue path to see if I could somehow go with them...
ME1's main story was better, but I think the character stories in ME2 where better. Whether it was the continuation of the stories of the better ME1 characters or some of the new ones, ME2's cast felt more fleshed out. Jacob could have been removed and nothing would have changed, but I'll take one useless asshole over both Kaiden and Ashley. 3 put a nice finishing touch on their stories, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it's plot. I find 2 to be the most replayable of the trilogy, ME1's gameplay mechanics are really clunkly, they were vastly improved in 2 and 3. 1 relied too much on stats effect shooting which made the gunplay feel weak, where-as 2 went a little too far in the shooter direction, 3 put it all together the best.

Call me a fanboi (probably true), but I would really like to play through as Aria taking over Omega and more of her backstory...I always found her very interesting.
Gunplay and encounter design did feel the best in 3. Still, too many carefully arranged by cokehead boxes to hide behind.
It does look like the next SP DLC is titled "omega," so who knows? They might use it as a jumping-off point for their next game. I don't know. Since the Extended Cut, I wonder whether they should even bother making any more games within the ME universe.
