Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I don't see them keeping the 2 disc/s. It's way too good. You can literally spam all your defensive abilities.

This game was released too early. With more time in development, and to change game according to feedback it would have been much better.

unless they had a beta of the full version of the game so fans could tell them what needed to be done with D3, I don't think the additional development time would have done much

the testers and people currently involved with creating D3 seem to be clueless about how to make D3 a fun game and what made D2 a fun game

today's haul + my current stats. this is just the items I ended up using for myself. got a few more to sell.

the source seems pretty amazing.

so i definatley just saw a twitch.tv streamer use a bot he "developed" , and it was sophisticated as heck.

he was a barbarian
picks up all the gold / rares automatically, kills elite packs and mini bosses no problem in act2/3 (that's all i saw)

claims he can make 100m gold a day (at even $4/1mil that's much better than the average full time job ...and its automatic for the most part)

warden better have a slam dunk next ban wave

Nice haul for one day Rizen!

It's been a while since I've found an armor piece I could actually use, much less four in one farming run.

The source is pretty nice. Mine's a bit better than that and I wouldn't sell it for under 6 million. So I think you've got a keeper there.

anybody up for butcher runs? farkedup#1250 doin them till about noon and also doin them at various times through the day

Excited to report I probably spent 3-400k the past few days on gear, about 50-60k per item.

I think so far I'm doing pretty good, not the best pieces but decent enough.

I really don't see people making that kind of bank off of farming, even with an extremely efficient bot and good luck. The people making 100 million or more per day are the ones who craft exalted grand armors for people at a premium of about 100k per craft.

how much does it cost to level up tradeskill till you can craft exalted grand armor?

The BS needs to be level 10, but you have to teach him the pattern, which are random drops. Or you can just buy one off the AH, the good ones run about 5m+

Is that on top of the crafting fees from the BS? If not, they're only making about 13k gold per craft for the grand exalted gear since 87k is sunk into pressing the button. They'd have to go through tons of customers to generate that kind of gold.

I personally have the grand exalted shoulders (which I found) and got mostly junk from it lol. I did however get 1 useful craft for myself and one that I sold for a couple bucks. It's a pretty neat way to gamble away my resources since I'm fairly comfortable with my current gear.

are those the 6 affix shoulders? Would you be willing to craft some for me? Just let me know the mats and how much gold you'd like/need.

My ingame battle tag is Rizen#1241 I believe.

So Act 1 is pretty trivial now. Gold find on gear is amazing. With 5/5 valor I routinely see 800-1300 gold per mob, even with a few deaths to unusually difficult elite/champion packs I am coming out way ahead. It definitely helps offset the repair cost increase.

biggest sale i got was 500k on a level 63 gloves with 69 all resist - found it farming dank cellar on inferno. Pretty easy to make $3k - $8k per run on dank cellar with lots of GF gear 200+. Sometimes Cave under the well spawns and this is just piles of gold :). Finally had enough gold to get some decent resist gear so i can farm butcher on inferno, got 3 really good level 63 drops and made around $1 mil but knowing my luck probably wont find anything for another long while.

I've been out for a month now due to work, and I'm so far behind I don't think I can play anymore, let alone play with my friends. :( Ah well I guess I got enjoyment for what I paid for it, time to move on to another game I suppose.

sold a helm a lil bit ago for 2.7M within 10 minutes of it being up apparently I should have gone higher! over 100 str over 100 vit and 15% MF and an empty socket... I REAAAALLLY wish I'd have put that on the RMAH instead. I've started putting stuff with a low starting bid and just putting the BIN what I think is high. The first day I listed things I was putting the prices too high and crossing my fingers... put like $5 into my paypal account so far but I'll be relisting my first days worth of stuff tomorrow at more reasonable prices and we'll see how it goes. I've been putting a ton into MF, crit chance and of course int.

I just discovered things like the 2.5% life steal are trash compared to the weapons that give you 400+ life per HIT. Hopefully mixing high crit chance with my blades and buying a 400+ heal per hit will turn me into a proper tanking wizard

Just add your Blizzard ID to the thread in [H]Gaming and I'm sure someone will play with you. Post it here also. Just make sure they they say they are from [H] before they invite you and likewise if you add some guys. :)

They have threads for Steam games, BF3, etc also.

Starting moving toward GF load out on myself and templar.

~300k per run starting at NW gate ending butcher. All item drops are trash, but gold is ok.

After 1.0.3 I can do Act 2 fairly well, but I have to restart the game with a few affix combos... which slows things down. Act 1 is like a stream roller... certain packs go down without a single heal.

~29k DPS, 31k HP, 600 resists, 6k armor with my GF gear.

I guess with only +40 MF I shouldn't expect anything decent... but jeez the loot blows. I've down Act 1 prolly 60 times now and only 2-3 decent items.

people are already at 1m / hr on just a gold farming bot, not even item pickups...

24m a day by just gold find and pickup radius

this guys bot actually picks up items and legendaries by item level too. so yeah...

Just finished Normal Hardcore with a rerolled wizard, drawing from lessons learned in softcore.

Was level 32, had 500 DPS, 4800 health and about 900 armor with Energy Armor when I killed Diablo.

Pretty exciting experience, I got a real blast out of Belial, getting him down was such a rush considering how much of a cockblock he was on my softcore wiz when I was learning the boss. Closest I came to death was about 10% on Butcher when he grabbed me and slammed me, had just enough health left to Teleport to a health fountain and finish him off. Mostly used Magic Missile but once I got Hydra and Archon near the end of Act III, everything became a cakewalk.

If you're feeling a bit bored with the game, and never tried it, then give hardcore a spin. It's really a whole new game.

Nice. I only did a single run in Act1 tonight, and didn't find much but this ammy

I dunno. I'll probably end up putting it on the AH, as I'm not much into playing a caster.

Not to be a dick, but I doubt you sell that amulet for more than 100k.

That is a Wizard amulet, that is worthless.

Most wizz are rolling

All Wizzies should be going crit/critdamge now with attack speed nerf.

the GF being 35% should make it worth more than 100K. no idea how much more though.

Not bad... is that what you're using? I've got a 5% / 52% / 82 INT / 40 FR that I'm looking to upgrade to an 8.5% crit chance / 50% crit damage one. Unfortunately those kinda start at 8 figures.

That does sound fun. I don't know if I can handle the heartbreak, however.

2.5% life steal if calculated properly wouldn't be too bad. But I believe there's a penalty for lifesteal in Inferno.

Yesterday I found a one handed rare sword with 899dps 1.54aps with 5%IAS and 862 life on hit. First time I have found a weapon I could actually use. I have 42K dps 850 res all and 24k life with the sword vs 46K dps 900res all and 25.5k life with my two handed hammer.

I am trying it out vs my 1244DPS 2hander with mega stats. I lose 4Kdps 1.3K life and 2.0% protection but I go from 1.01APS to 1.71APS with all my IAS included and 1.2K life on hit. It really is a toss up at the moment but for farming I see it being useful.

The biggest change is the per hit base dmg goes from 1200 to 400. Crits are down from 30-40K to 20's. But they come a lot faster.

You'll get a ton of money if you sell that sword. I would recommend doing that and buying something more suitable.

So what is the consensus on this game. I haven't played since the RMAH went live. Has it killed the GAH (which I liked), meaning has all the good stuff moved over?

I want to start playing again, but this game is all about the gear. If I have no shot at the elite gear other than spending real cash then I will just wait for Torchlight II and continue getting my ass kicked at BF3 or HoN.

People were beating Inferno before the RMAH went live and people are doing it now without spending a single cent. I don't know why it keeps getting brought up, but no, you don't need to use the RMAH to play the game. They even nerfed Acts 2-4 significantly, which would be counter-productive if Blizzard's sole purpose was to make money off the RMAH.

The RMAH exist for people that have no patience. They want the best ASAP and are willing to pay for it. I've played a few public MP games and you can tell right away who's actually played the game for 100+ hrs and who dumped a bunch of cash in the RMAH and bought all their gear. The RMAH players have great status but get owned by elite mobs all day long.

inferno belial down :p

took us about 5-6 hours to clear from quest 7 to belial hahha took like 15 minutes to kill belial.. not too bad when you have venom hydras and blizzard... i just ran around and cast the entire time while the barb picked up the health drops. took us about 5 tries which isnt bad cause i have like 300 resist hahahha less without warcry

Yeah Belial Inferno on a ranged class is a pain. I play a Monk and I had to carry two of my DH friends through the fight.

LOL I'm stuck on quest 7 and its been a while since I tried it. I've upgraded quite a bit since but I'm going to keep farming A1 and putting all my money into the MF gear. I have gotten to a point where I have decent res all and dps in my MF gear but my vit is like 600 so when butcher charges he can 1 shot me if my ice armor isn't up! I clearly have to work in some more vit. I think I have some gems I can swap around to help me out.

What class are you? Barb?

That sword is a monk's wet dream. AH that sucker for some serious bucks.

Guys just man up and play HardCore like me. No high Auction house rates because there is no RMAH =)

Not only that but the main reason is because of the destruction of items when a character dies, helps keep inflation in check.

All good economies need money coming in and money going out. In softcore, hardly anything was being destroyed or taken out of the game. Maybe prices might come down on the GAH now that repairs have gone up significantly, thus taking more gold out of the game?

Can anyone clarify what happens to the gold and inventory when you die in HC? I feel like you keep your gold but items that are equipped are definitely gone and maybe even the ones that are in the inventory?
