Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

am i the only one thinking that its not going to hurt the price the IAS gear, all lowering the amount on each piece is going to do is make you want to get IAS on even more gear to make up for the reduction.

the way they are going about it is dumb.

so if i have 3 pieces now with 15% each that would be 45% IAS now to get that same attack speed id have to get 9 pieces of gear that had 5% so id be trying to get IAS on eveyrthing.

now instead of only wanting it on a few pieces i want it on everything...

the best way to do it would be to limit how much IAS you could get in total from gear. 50-60% seems like a good number to me.

so if you got 2 awsome pieces in the 25% range you would be set on IAS gear and could focus on other stats. or if you are on a budget you could settle on 4 or 5 pieces in a 11-15% range and get the same results form the IAS cap.

Anyone in the mood for doing some coop inferno goobers or something? Maybe a little later?

Just got off work and can finally do something again.

It will only be more valuable if there is no other stat to replace it. Right now everyone is flocking to crit increases it seems, so that may well be the new hot ticket item. Remains to be seem just how bad the IAS nerf is going to be.

I wonder if they've considered the next step. Once IAS gets nerfed, then crit is the next flavor of the month. Nerf that, then what? Could they ever really balance all the stats in terms of allocation? Is that even their goal?

I don't think their goal is to balance all the stats evenly, but IAS just happened to be exceptionally too good.

Yeah, its the way its calculated. Once you have like 1500 dex/str/int (depending on char) 15% ias is equal to like 250 dex/str/int.

im finally level 60 on my wizard and i just beat Act 1 on Inferno, slowly working on act 2 and re-running act 1 for items. im finally starting to get some gold lol, at 400k now.

same here moving really slow is all I can do in act 2. I'm forced to go solo since most of the people I come across in game just drop dead constantly

Well, the next patch should change it. Right now, it makes more sense to go solo from act 2 onwards due to the increased damage. (Sadly, Blizzard is finally adding enrage timers to bosses, which will significantly nerf my gear farming...)

Just not sure how viable Act 1 is though for farming in preparation for Act 2 though.

it isn't helping at all really but it slowly builds up gold and eventually I can purchase some upgrades but I'm at the point where $200k+ is the absolute min for finding even minor upgrades. I've mostly been sidestepping or buying too minor of upgrades for my taste.

The damage buff removal was already implemented in a small patch a while ago.

By the way, anyone know whats going on with crafting? I've been selling inferno essences for ~2k gold for several days now and it seems to be steadily rising. I do have a BS plan for shoulders for 6 affixes. I'm debating on selling the plans or taking the plunge in gambling. Are rares being crafted or legendaries?

Haha dude if 200K IGG is expensive to you, I don't know when you'll get to upgrading your jewelry :p

Res all gear with stats/vit/other goodies is going to start at about that level.

Yoshiyuki Blade - yeah I noticed I didn't have to 'undersell' my essences yesterday haha.
Assuming you don't need the extra gold, I say why not build a stash for yourself. Though it is basically high-end gambling.

Just got to 60 the old fashioned way; watching youtube videos about "power leveling" is a waste of time.

That said, what do I do with my Monk now? She's getting pwn'd in the few minutes of playing in Inferno and seems stuff in the auction house is mega inflated.

Done correctly (ie: you're extremely lucky), you can get some pretty awesome items. But is it worth the cost? I blew through my entire gold supply the other day trying to craft one of the items from a plan I found, and out of the the 10 items, only 1 was even remotely useable/sellable. I guess I can understand why items sell on the AH for tens of millions of gold, because they're definitely not viable economically otherwise.

At the start of inferno, you can get decent items off the vendor. Don't try to worry about rares vs blues. I find that Act 1 you can get by pretty easily with 300+ resist all (One With Everything) with 20k hp. Forget trying to get DPS (with the exception of the butcher, who you'll wnat 10k damage). And set up your skills to lower the enemies damage. With 400+ life on hit and those resistances, I can pretty much stand in plagues or arcane, etc. on act 1 while attacking. The further acts require significantly higher resistances.

*EDIT*

Once you can take down elites and the act 1 bosses easily, start slowly replacing your gear with magic find so you can find better gear for the later acts.

Just dont make the mistake of thinking you will equip yourself with gear you personally find. The idea is to find any useful gear, sell it, then turn that around to equip yourself.

Basically for a monk, get yourself a pair of life on hit weapons and double resist gear with dex/vit. You dont have to spend a ton. Put in a buyout of 50k or whatever you want to spend on the AH, 500 life on hit, then just hit refresh til a decent one appears. New gear is constantly entering the market at low prices then resold at higher rates. Don't pay those rates.

That's what i was wondering. almost 50% nerfs to IAS--sounds like a decision by a team that doesn't know what the fuck they're doing.

The prediction in this thread is exactly correct--everyone will jump ship to crit. Then Blizz will be like, "oh fuck, now crit is OP--nerf it by 50%"

Where does this line of thinking stop? Does anyone even know the team of people working on this game? What sort of amateurs has blizzard hired?

Don't worry, in 3-9 months, the game will be polished and stable. Just hang in there lil buddy!

This sounds similar to what people were saying about the beta =P

"Just wait for launch, IT IS IN BETA--once we're playing the full game things will be polished and stable."

:D

Oh and this wasn't a rhetorical question:
Does anyone even know the team of people working on this game? What sort of amateurs has blizzard hired?

Does anyone know who is working on this?

My work bud and I are trying to figure out if Diablo 3 is a prequel or not? Can someone explain the story a little bit? I skip through most of the talking...

Biggest problem with D3 aside from the AH and gameplay/ story... Why the hell is there no item switching on the fly?

He meant like in Dii where you had two sets and at the press of a single key could switch btw the two. I miss it too.

Blizzard! Make this happen! Its annoying to search for my MF gear amongst other chars MF gear and stuff going to AH. Stash gets quite cramped, fast.

It certainly does seem like any members of the Blizzard of old who had any remaining creative ambition left years ago, those who are left are those who've been content with the drudgery of year after soul crushing year of creating WoW expansion after expansion.

All creative and gameplay decisions resolved by determining which potential solution that a)forces RMAH usage, and b)is familiar to WoW players.

Now get off my lawn.

There are literally 100's of ideas that Blizzard has said this exact comment to:

"We would like to add this in a future patch".

Long story short, game is still beta as far as features, functionality is 95%.

Technically it would be "alpha", then.

Alpha = feature incomplete

Beta = feature complete, balance/optimization incomplete

So I've got s question maybe someone who plays wd can help me with. Im nearly level 60, and rolled a wd to be a tank/cc for my dh friend to dps on inferno.

Im looking for gear, and was wondering if any of y'all have tried something like this. I've found alot of inexpensive blues on ah that have +80-90 resist all, and +300 or more armor. Some have slots that I can throw vit gems in. Hoe viable of a tank can I be with focusing entirely in resist all and armor with. A little extra vit in inferno? I was also thinking of picking up a high block shield with vit, mybr some dex. Weapon would be a fast one hander with life on hit and maybe critical dmg?

Any thoughts?

Looks like 1.0.3 is being loaded overnight.
Get ready for a day of lag and disconnects.

I keeping optimistic on the fixes, minus the higher cost repairs, but i guess we will see how that turns out.
