Diablo 3 Beta

why are you doing it over and over then? =P

Clearly blizz did something right if it can be boring yet rope you in to keep playing...

They added an achievement for getting one of each character to the max (13) for beta.

I got it last patch when multiplayer actually worked

PvP in Diablo II was stupid anyway, it seemed like a poorly done tacked-on addition. I'm glad they aren't fiddle farting around with PvP to delay the release

It was quite fun when I play in BlizzCon though... :D

disappointed about the pvp but dont want the game delayed so just hope doesnt take them two years to patch it, i also played the pvp arena twice at blizzcon and it was extremely fun.

new beta gameplay of the hidden zones that can only be accessed if you have the fields of misery waypoint.

Contains a lot of new monsters, wide open zones, special events, and random environmental events.

New stuff starts at 13:45

I can't fathom why these areas are even in the assets that they give to players for the beta. They know that their fanbase is rabid and will do anything in their power to break their games. If they wanted to keep this secret so badly, why did they even put it in the files?

They fixed the bug and removed the waypoints from all characters. was fun while it lasted.

Looks like elective mode is working now.....I can finally use a basic attack on my DH again. Yay! Urge to kill...fading.

I wonder if they're going to lower the price since they're only selling roughly 60% of the game. (For me Diablo II was all about getting the best gear to own in PVP. No PVP destroys any motivation to get gear, which kills any motivation to play the game at all, since it is essentially a loot fest.)

I've got a crazy suggestion for you. Buy the game when they release the PvP update. Inconceivable!

The Diablo series has always been about the storyline. PvP was ALWAYS an afterthought.

The whole point of Diablo 1/2 was the loot fest...

PVP was fun, but it was never the point of the game. Plus, they will be adding it later, so who cares. Enjoy the game, PVP in a month or two after release... big deal.

I never got into the PvP in Diablo II. They can leave it completely out for all I care.

damn... 40% of diablo 2 was pvp for you?

No idea how you managed that

Like I said, my only reason for getting sweet gear was to pwn noobs in pvp. If there's no pvp then there's essentially no reason for me to play.

As opposed to pwning...players of equal gear/skill? :p

Sounds boring if you're just owning pubs tbh. I think it was better when I was PvMing and this douche PKer comes in and gets promptly pwned by one of my MF characters. Nothing funnier than seeing failed PK attempts hahaha.

I personally think the delayed PvP release is a good thing.

PvP normally requires top of the line gear which takes a few months to get. Opening up PvP from start will result in a slow progressive PvP where opening up late will cause an explosive and intense PvP.

I hope there are duels though, so you can at least do lvl 1 pvp even though it's not in the arena or whatever...

nothing was better than in Diablo 2 PKing, PvPing, Anti-PKing in Hardcore. Theres something about the possibility of losing your character or others losing their characters and items that make it such a thrill. Even though I am still getting D3 opening day, I am hoping somewhere down the line hardcore PvP will be in the game.

shit happened so quick in D2, i'm surprised people did this

Some of the most funnest moments in my gaming history. And besides the upper lvl Hardcore PvPing, there was a huge community for Lowlvl < 19 hardcore PVP. Super fun even though I've lost more than my fair share of characters.

My favorite has always been standing just out of site under the overhang of Griswalds workshop in Diablo 1, and waiting for someone to walk by to town kill them. Many laugh's were had.

Because you can't grief people while they are trying to enjoy the PvE of the game?
Good riddance.

Who said anything about griefing?

The statement above yours was in reference to this:

Which is pretty much the definition of griefing. I for one will not miss having to protect my ass from some unwanted prison-love. You guys can go PvP to your heart's content in the arenas while the rest of us enjoy the storyline and all the treasure that goes with it.

Actually we won't. That's kind of what we're discussing. God knows when the PVP part of the game will be released. Knowing Blizzard, around 2015.

Lol, shouldn't be THAT bad. Hopefully not more than a month or two at most. Even you PvPers ought to be able to amuse yourselves with the PvE game for that amount of time.

And by then, the price will probably drop a little. I say, it's a win-win for you guys. :D

I agree, griefing is garbage, can't remember how many games I've quit because of bastards who find giggles out of others misfortunes.

Does anyone else get terrible lag in the D3 beta? I will ping 30ms in WoW and then go on to D3 and hit 400ms with 4 people and it is damn near unplayable.

I did TONS of PVP on USWest in the leagues over at dii.net if any of you frequented the site was considered pretty good at the time xD. Good days. I played Necro with the same name as my forum name if any of you are old school PvPers from USWest.

I may not have agreed with many of Blizz's decisions but I'll support D3 just because it's D3 and my GF is interested in playing it.

Have they removed the stupid 4 player limit? Or is it really going to be a 4P limit in production?
