Destiny - Discussion Thread

I got it with a high impact rare void fusion. I lucked out and one of the upgrades was quick charge. Beat most people to the punch and killed in one shot. Also used a rare void machine gun and made sure I ran and got heavy weapon ammo at every opportunity. A heavy ammo pack was good for 3-4 kills. Also I am a defender so void grenades helped. Took a couple of nightly sessions to get the 500 void points and I'm not the greatest in crucible.

I have no idea how he passed his, I passed mine with a void shotgun and 2 clanmates running towards me on rumble. Took 20 minutes :)

Yeah, that is always the common consensus with Bad Juju. The gun just doesn't perform until you upgrade it. Mine is upgrade and I never run out of Primary ammo and hardly ever have to reload the weapon. Bosses are a little tougher but that is why you carry special and heavy weapons. The Bad Juju is mostly for everything you meet up towards the boss. Not saying it can't kill a boss but it isn't ammo conservative when that happens.
I go through loads of mobs with that gun and will always expect to be reloading and low and behold, I look down to notice I still have 15 rounds in the magazine, lol.
 
Is there any benefit to killing higher-level enemies (e.g. a lvl 20 Vandal over a lvl 2 Vandal)? Making every level of an enemy type give the same amount of XP and have the same chances of dropping good loot seems extraordinarily silly and no doubt contributed to the Loot Cave phenomenon.

Finally ran the raid for the first time this weekend with a couple clan members and some pug players. Stalled out at Atheon with the first two groups and managed to finish it with the third after kicking some guy that had no mic and didn't have a clue.

All in all it was a ton of fun though, if Bungie were smart they would have made a beginner raid to give players a sample of what was to come in later levels.

I ended up with raid gauntlets, the shader and a titan towel, but that was still better than some in the group.

In small ways they kind of have but most people don't notice them as they are out of context.
Handling the relic is like handling the Sword of Crota, except for the shield portion.
The Vex Sacrifice in Public Events is like the Constructs in the raid.
Building the Pyre is like the gate lord mission where you have to stand in the center to bring him out.
I am really curious what they are going to be doing with the new DLC Raid.
 
Today's lvl 28 Daily Heroic is bullshit. The stupid insta-kill melee every enemy has is very cheap in the confined area...500 kills and 20 deaths later, I give up. Stupid fucking Lightswitch mutator.
 
yeah the AI in this game is amazing I mean give the working man a chance to defeat the Fallen.
 
I flat out avoid the daily if it has the light switch modifier, especially with the fallen. fuck stealth Vandals. A titan needs to get in a swing a few punches, there is no projected special. tight areas + light switch make it an act of frustration.
 
I didn't find the Daily with lightswitch all that bad, I have done that mission a couple times now with it on. Although being a Defender with Saint-14 and playing with Sunsinger Warlocks helps.
 
I didn't even notice that the daily had lightswitch on. I mostly kept up in that 3/4 circle above the first computer you initiate and let the enemy come to my area sniping as they came towards me. I always find the daily at 28 to be easy solo 7800 xp.
I would try and find a space above the enemy.
Not sure what is is going to be everyday though, heh.

That's my standard approach to the Archive mission. Scout rifle to HS most of the baddies as they come in. Deal with solos if they make it to me, and then nade the ultra that comes. I'm at 25 and that one's a breeze solo.

Ice breaker is hands down the best exotic for utility. Seriously, nothing even comes close to how good it really is for the daily/weekly/nightfall. Out of ammo? Switch to ice breaker, regen and switch out... and you have half your clip ready for your other gun. No need for synthesis! (Or if you're feeling cheap :p).

I can't wait for solar burn again.. Vision of confluence/ice breaker combo is going to be so sick.
 
I hope Xur has a decent exotic weapon for sale tomorrow. RNG loves giving me armor but I have yet to find a top level weapon. Would really like to have a fully leveled top tier exotic before taking on hard mode raid.

I ran the nightfall and normal raid last night, one clan mate got Icebreaker, Monte Carlo and Praedith's Revenge. The other got Red Death, Vision of Confluence and raid chest. I got a legendary sniper that I'm not sure if I will level and a raid chest. Hopefully I get lucky and get boots next week.
 
I'm hoping for Gjallarhorn for weapon and No Backup Plans as the exotic for Titan and Young Ahamkara's Spine for the exotic for Hunter. That'd finish my exotic Titan set (have full raid gear already) and put me to 30 on my Hunter (just need +30 hands), not sure what I'd like for my Warlock.. already have Heart of the Praxic Fire, Sunbreakers, Apotheosis Veil and Skull of Dire Ahamkara, need two raid pieces for the Warlock to 30 as well..

Can't think of another exotic weapon I want as badly, I have two Suros, two Icebreakers, Patience and Time, Hard Light, Bad Juju, Pocket Infinity, Plan C, Truth, Super Good Advice, and... I think that's it.. on top of Vision of Confluence, Praedyth's Revenge and two Found Verdicts...

I might play too much..

I'm hoping for The Last Word since I enjoy hand cannons, but would pretty much take anything at this point. I'm mainly running with legendaries from the merchants and exotics from the bounties.

Mind you I am quite happy with The Devil You Know and usually run with it until Oracle killing is needed; at which time I switch to Vanquisher. The Vanquisher is ok but could use a slightly larger clip.
 
The Last Word would be awesome.. Forgot I have Fatebringer and Hawkmoon too... Fatebringer made the nightfall a walk in the park.
 
I have the last word.. hoping for fatebringer / praedyth's time piece... would have been nice for this weeks night fall. Patience and Time did help though. Also finally got the last word perk upgraded as well as the wolf pack rounds for my gjallarhorn. Still need to max out Gjalla before I take it out for a spin for raiding.

I'm slowly upgrading all my duplicate weapons (I have 2 max Vision of Confluence and working on a third), one ice breaker maxed, patience and time is nowhere near.., and gjalla, hezen vengeance is getting there.. My vex mythoclast is also able to be maxed but waiting for the buff announcement before i spend my ascendant energies on it.

Also, last sunday I did hard mode raid in 45-50 minutes! Was with a pretty awesome group. Three 29's and Three 30's. Now where are my damn raid boots so I can finally get to 30. The way to hit max level in this game is absolutely retarded.
 
Woohoo, Xur has The Last Word. I might grab the Titan armor as well, seems like it has a decent roll.
 
Haha I love how so many people are angry Xur is selling the last word... seriously who cares if people have it now? Reading reddit and the self entitled brats are hilarious. I'm sure Bungie will revamp this come "The Dark Below" expansion but until then.. sell away! I don't need to buy it as I already have one. Might just get an upgrade to a blue sparrow.. need to use my strange coins somehow.. and lots and lots of telemetry.
 
I don't see the big deal, they said Suros would wreck pvp and it didn't. Plus anyone can run around with a rare fusion rifle and kill in one hit.

Also did anyone see the Bungie update from yesterday? Iron Banner 2.0 comes out late next week if all goes well and will have level 30 boots and gloves. I guess that means I won't be stuck at 29 very long since all I need is boots.

I would only care if they had grouping with randoms for raids otherwise this game can suck a big one.
 
liked the patch notes, went to play and now I got to wait for the patch for the patch. damn update killed frame rates :(
 
I didn't notice any issues last night after the patch on xb1.

On a somewhat related note, I am looking to buy an Expansion Pass for Xbox One. Looks like I have 10-15 hours of Iron Banner ahead of me in order to get my Titan boots and hit 30. Hopefully it ends up being less because I wouldn't mind grabbing boots or gloves for my Warlock, but he will require material grinding to get to 27 before having a chance. I don't think I could squeeze in 20 hours of crucible in a week across both characters.
 
IcedEmotion, do you know which mats the boots need to be upgraded for the titan? My titan is at 29 and just need boots to hit 30.
 
Not sure, I haven't seen it posted anywhere yet and I won't log in until after work.
