huh, I guess I wasn't aware of that.

I got a PS4 to try something different and to have the better hardware of the two. I'm not trying to start a console war in this thread. I guess my previous point is pretty moot since it is on both systems.

I didn't say I was proud of it, just illustrating how radars and minimaps have become such a crutch to gamers nowadays. Besides, it's not camping if you only stay there for the one kill and then move on. If I stayed there the person would come back trying for swift revenge, as would I ;).

Yar, I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of that considering how effective it's been. And I guess I'd prefer the one-sided advertising over timed console exclusives (ala Tomb Raider).

I don't, exclusive advertising rights is more deceptive. It makes a multiplat game seem as though it is exclusive which is extremely dodgy. The Tomb Raider deal it is in fact exclusive for at least that period of time which is still deceptive, but not as deceptive. And we still don't even know what the Tomb Raider deal really is, there is still a pretty high chance it will never see the light of day on the PS4 but a PC version will come out.
 
If it wasn't for the media uproar, you wouldn't have even known that tomb raider was only exclusive for the holiday season.

So yes, it is just as deceptive.

no it isnt because it is still EXCLUSIVE for that period of time. Which is not nearly as bad as advertising a game as being exclusive that is in no way shape or form exclusive.
 
Here's the thing, with Destiny, even though it's only really advertised for PS4, I can still play it on Xbone. If I was even remotely curious in an Xbone purchase, I'd know Destiny would also be available for it. The advertising really only affects more casual, new purchasers of console hardware.

I guess it's still a deceptive tactic, but not nearly as malicious as buying the sole rights for a normally multiplatform game (even if it's timed).

thats what the informed will think. The thing is the launch of Destiny apparently pushed a ton of PS4 hardware overseas without the same boost to the Xone. Of course you cant draw any major conclusions from that because the boost could have occured for people who wanted the PS4 over the XOne anyways and were waiting for the title that gave them enough reason to buy it, but the fact is there is no real technical difference between the X1 and the PS4 version of the games.

which means people who knew the game was on both consoles would try to find a superior version, which in this case there was none so it would seem as though both should have seen similar hardware boosts.

the alternative is the exclusive advertising made a significant amount of people believe it was only on the ps4, thus leading to the boosted sales.

None of that is factual, just a possible outcome of the exclusive advertising deal.

If I was on the xbone still, you are exactly right. I probably would have heard of it for that system. I guess I fell prey to the marketing.

Yar, who knows. I'm thinking it's more likely the increase of PS4 sales were a result of "people wanting a PS4 in the first place and just waiting for Destiny to push them over the edge" than "people thinking that Destiny was an exclusive for PS4 or the superior version". I mean, warranted or not, the PS4 is the current hype machine.

No worries, I'm thinking if you'd really want to, you could probably exchange that PS4 for a XBone (or at least trade it in and get a Xbone for cheap) and be able to play the new Halo.

Yep, we will see. My buddy has an xbone and will be getting the new halo and the master chief collection. I'll just have to visit him to hold me over until I'm ready to make a decision.

The Cave is the most fun I had in the game =) just tried it out there were like 4 guys there when I found it.
 
Level 20 now =) I did the cave thing for about two hours got some blue stuff =)
I guess I need light armor now.....the problem you have to either have PVP crucible marks or get it it after the PVP game or do Queen bouties or get some special coins from Strikes which are sold on a vendor vendor can spawns a vendor on only Friday and Saturday =)
Don't think I have the time for this.....


really is a grind think I call it quits here for a while...
 
Last night was a good night. I finished out my Vanguard Rep to ranks 3. Got some in game email. It gave me a Legendary pistol, a mote a light and an Ascendant Shard. That shard allowed me to upgrade my chest piece which gave me level 28.
I went to turn in a bounty right after that and it gave me an exotic weapon mission. So now I am off to hell in order to get my Bad Juju Pulse rifle.
 
Just hit level 18. For a while I wasn't having too much fun but the game continues to grow on me. I don't know how far I'll get though, since I don't intend to do MP. Is there any way to get past level 20 w/o PS+?
 
Well I gotta say normally I'm on the lynch mop angry townfolk band wagon but I actually don't feel too bad about this one. I'm like level 18 or so and I feel like I got my $60. Maybe its because I didn't rush through or anything. I'm just kind of hanging out enjoying the game with my cousin when we have time to play after work. For some reason it's entertaining me way more than Borderlands 2. I think it's mainly the aesthetics. Borderlands 2 is a carbon copy of the first one except they nerfed leveling and the guns so progression felt really slow where as with this game everytime I get a new gun It feels waay better than the last and equips are constantly changing the way my avatar looks which is refreshing. I'll definitely say they really did a poor job on the story. It was hard to understand what reviewers meant until I played it. Its like theres this big cool universal story someone else is having a conversation next to you about at a bar. You're not a part of it and there's not enough info to get a grasp on whats supposed to be so awesome. Hopefully they do more with the story but I'm still having fun 3 or 4 days in no complaints here.

Can you show me an official announcement that it was exclusive to the ps4? I haven't seen it myself and am curious.
 
Anyone else solo'd the damn walker in The Blast (Old Russia)? killed the fucker twice now, and no rewards for it. curious if anyone lese has bothered with it, or what the point of it is?

I suppose i mispoke, it was never directly stated to be exclusive but the exclusive advertising rights made it so only sony advertised it and gave the appearance of being exclusive

Thats one of the issues people have with the loot system, right now it makes NO sense to go after higher level more difficult enemies because they don't drop loot any different than level 1 single headshot kill targets.


I did 4 queens missions last night, solod 2 of them...what did i get? 1 helm and THREE Chest pieces. wtf Bungie your loot system is a joke
 
I think they are doing that for those that already have legendary items so they can break those down to upgrade their existing items or upgrade the ones you just got.
I read somewhere that this event is going on two weeks, next week, the rewards will change.
 
Multiplayer I don't know what to think of it.... They made the maps too big not size wise but the size of your character on the screen is a joke it's like shooting pin pricks. The best way to get crucible marks is kill one guy and wait the game out =) Just screw around don't try to prove you can get 30 kills unless you are actually having fun but I find that hard to believe.
It's so easy to get flanked in Multiplayer =) When you do the work looking around for people to kill by that time two campers have their shotguns right behind ya.
The action of turning around with your character takes like a second you can fly in the air and throw a grenade hope for the best =)

I got 3rd place in a pretty good group of upper 20s I'm 21 now almost 22 soon and I can FARM the armor

The cults in the game =) My god that is Farming too =)

I really think FPS MMOS should be left to Gearbox =)

When you do the work in the game look for other people to kill you think you are the better player in fact the campers get the most kills a few guys really know what they are doing but must have 50" screens so the targets are bigger.

I have legendaries in all armor slots (3 from vanguard marks) but im still stuck using green/blue weapons at level 26. No reason for them to keep giving me chest pieces

Ive found some crappy things in some of the multiplayer maps. Cliffs that i can jump high enough to get on and would be great sniping positions but its "out of bounds" so you jump clear above the terrain only to be blocked by some invisible wall
 
I seen some guys using the cliffs as sniper spots they get around two kills or so till someone figures where they are.
 
He wasn't in the location in the video last weekend, so he will probably move again. Shouldn't be hard to find. I got my Exotic gloves from him last weekend.

Is the level cap 20 or 30? Am I wrong in thinking you need special gear to ramp up levels after 20?
