Correct, my 2209wa has horizontal uniformity issues, although I was one of the very first to receive my display on these forums. For the price of the 2209wa, to me, this is kind of acceptable. For the price of the U2711? Absolutely not.
Yes you were, and my 2209WA had the tinting issue to a small extent (colder on the left, warmer on the right), but for the price and capability this was something to easily gloss over. LG needs to fix this. My S-PVA 2709W did not have this specific problem whatsoever. Alternatively, neither my LCD2690WUXI nor Dell 3008WFP have this issue either, so LG has cut some costs somewhere, maybe in the polarizer or something there? Just a thought.
I'm disappointed that this monitor doesn't come with Portrait mode ability. I'll be waiting for the NEC 27" to see if it has that. Also the monitor's high input lag is an issue for gaming.
I have yet to see a monitor that is 27" and larger with the ability to do portrait out of the box. Monitor arms are always a good investment there. The largest screen I've had that does it is my 26" NEC. The 2709W does not, nor does the Samsung 275T.
