DC Vault

Built me a dedicated EON Proxy out of my old 4ghz P4HT.
Lets my other 3 boxen just crunch without IO overhead.

I'm feeling kinda guilty. I'm heading back to the fleet. I added a few SETI and PrimeGrid points for you guys. I hope they help in your run for #1.

^^ and don't forget, whatever happens with the fleet, you'll always have a spot to come back and play with the Commandos whenever you want!

Absolutely.

Your welcome back anytime.

We will keep your seat warm and a beer cold.

But we do reserve the right to mock you in the mean time. :D

Now I can take back the top primegrid spot! Fibble, if I ever get close to the points you have we should definitely race.

yup i got 5 days left on my ogr-27 raid.. then im going to raid primegrid again..

I was just looking at BOINCstats and it seems that I come up on the team as 3 seperate people. One has most of my points, at pos. 14, another at pos. 25 for RCN and finally pos. 48 for POEM@home. Is there a way to make all the accounts merge into the one? I know all the points are for the [H]orde but it would be nice to have them all in one place.

On BOINCstats - Edit Account then renew account box needs to be checked to consolidate your CPID's (Cross Project Identification Number).
It will take like 24 hours for all the projects to consolidate into one ID.

Thanks for the wallpaper links.

I had downloaded Prime95 to test overclocking stability, so I decided to sign up for GIMPs, given our very low score. I know the GIMPS stats are funky, but Free-DC doesn't seem to track the project, so is there anywhere else to track our progress other than mersenne.org? (The i7 hit 4GHz easily but isn't quite stable; I'm still working on it.)

The SQL Server DC-Vault tracking is working pretty well. I've already worked up some queries to emulate the Free-DC tables, and I'll start working on graphs when I get time. However, I realized I probably shouldn't have installed SQL Server on my XP Home box  so I need to get SQL 2008 installed on my 64-bit F@H box and migrate everything over. That's a secondary benefit to all these new DC boxen: I can install MSDN software for testing, since we don't have any available machines at work.

SazanEyes You can track Gimps in Free-DC.
Could you try running your EON in XP SP2 compatibility mode (right click on eonstart.exe, compatibility mode tab) for me and see if it speeds up or works any better for you?
I was having some troubles with me EON Proxy server until I ran it in compatibility mode and that seem to fix it so I started up all my clients that way and they seem to be running much faster now.
Maybe thats what did it or something finally broke loose at the same time I tried that, but that would be some real funny timing.

ya maybe 1 in 20 i7 920's are actually 24 hour p95 stable at 4 ghz or higher.. anyone you ask most of them fail around the 18-20 hour mark..
i had to stop running gimps on my athlon 3200+ because it was only 23 hour prime95 stable.. but ended up noticing my psu 12v rail was dipping into the 11.2v range so ive shut the system off til i can get a new psu.. i think that was what was limiting me to 2.4ghz as well..

btw.. im coming mfl0p's.. coming to take you down in OGR-27 :p lol see if i can catch you.. avging 15k points a day..

SazanEyes You can track Gimps in Free-DC.

I can't find it. Do you have a link? I found that Ars has stats, but they seem as mysterious as the main site.

I'm running Eon on XP SP3. Are you on Vista? I noticed tonight that I wasn't able to request or report work, so they may be having server issues. I just restarted EONstart and I was able to connect, but that wasn't working earlier.

SazanEyes - you're welcome for the wallpaper links.

Well now I can't find the Free-DC Gimps project stat page either. I posted a message to see if I can get someone to help my find it or explain what happen to it. I swear I looked at it like 2 weeks ago. Maybe I've lost my marbles!

Yes I have been running Eon on Vista32/64 with occasional problems with the consistency of the proxy server to send work to my clients. Seems like it started working again as soon as I ran it in the XPSP2 compatibility mode and it ran all night feeding 3 EON clients with out a hitch. Hopefully that was all I had to do to get it to run better.

The EON client seems to run faster under Vista in the XPSP2 compatibility mode. I have noticed my Avg Time(s) on the EON's stat page have been falling from like 15sec to 12sec just overnight.

I've got EON running on my C2D with 6 crunchers, and I seem to be "crunch-limited" so a separate proxy probably wouldn't help much. I'm happy with my current output.

I installed Windows 7 on my testing box and got BOINC and F@H running (some headaches with F@H, but I should get it straightened out tonight).

Malariacontrol has more beta work available. Since no one else is able to join and crunch under their own account, I have an idea. Would anyone be willing to crunch for the [H]orde under my username? I will PM anyone interested the e-mail account and password. I just ask that you don't make any changes to the account. Once malaria gets back to regular work you can make your own accounts.

This is the only way I see for you guys to move up in the project.

Yes I will do it.
Thanks, that would be a great help.

Edit - I have to say your going to earn a lot of personal points real fast and I'll be taking one for the team but thats alright.

It would basically be a team account but yeah it would add to my overall total. But I could also get screwed over if someone decided to change the account info.

Right now I don't know of another way for the [H]orde to gain points. I can just crunch on my own but I don't have that much power available to me.

I can change the username to reflect a team account but it would still be under my email which would still add to my BOINC score.

I don't think you can change the user account name. Your name is fine since I/we won't get any of the personal stat points but for the team's sake I would be happy to throw 8 cores at it right away just to get our team points built up in the vault.
Being the one of the top personal Boinc points holders I think I can afford the hit without to much of a problem.

As far as the trust issue with your account - well thats a personal choice you will have to make.
I think I have shown myself around here that I'm a straight up individual and I can promise you that I wont make any changes to the account.

You can change the username. I changed mine when I made the team. I crunch under a diff name for all my other projects.

PM comming your way.

Well, I'll just leave it as you have it.
Thanks bud that really nice of you.

Edit: I put on 2xE8400's on it and will put on the Q9400 on it tonight right after this Gimps unit is done. Do you know when they will release more work?

I was getting work earlier today. There is no post on the message board saying they stopped. I'm guessing it's just slow right now as they are test unit's. I have about 30 still left in my cache so we are not at a stand still yet.

Ok thanks. I see the server says no work to send out so maybe they will start another batch soon.
Thanks again.

I've got my own personal raid going with uFluids :)

*snip*

i stopped running ufluids for a while because it wasnt registering correctly on some projects.. it would just sit there and keep going and going and going and never actually show any progress.. then 6 hours later.. it was done.. i may start it up again.. but dont know..

No worries...... I think I've got it nailed down.....

That is unless you want to have a go at it. :D

Just think of me as the rear guard in the Commandos.

I keep hammering all the projects inside Bonic so we don't lose our places while you run all the stuff I don't have the time to install and manage ;)

I've been working on the sub-8K phys/bio BOINC projects, but I decided to do a PSP-PRP raid. We're #18 out of 26 teams, so by just moving up 3 spots we can pick up over 1K points in the vault. The problem is that there's no place to hide from the other teams. Most aren't very active, but maybe I'll wake a few of them up. :D

yeah baby.. broke 10k results on EON.. not bad for only running a single client.. :p

Nice work, every bit helps.
After we overtake Cruncher Junkies, we have some big gaps to crunch through.
So all the help the team gets is very needed.
