Do you have the use GPU option turned off in your Seti preferences? I would also say you could try one of the latest versions of Boinc like 6.6.11 because there is an option now under Boinc preferences to tell it to use your GPU or not - BUT beware there are still some serious problems with the scheduler in these version of BOINC.

hmm that could be it.. i didnt think of checking the gpu option dangit.. thats what i get for being tired as hell last night.. because i stopped seti right after i had put the new optimized app due to it being the end of the money and trying to save money on the electricity bill..

*edit*
ok went and checked and yes the gpu option was checked already.. and im using boinc 6.4.5

btw the WU's no longer say (cuda) on them anymore like they did before..

Which opt app do you have installed and how are you using the comp. All SETI CPU and GPU or Seti GPU other projects CPU?

seti gpu everything else runs on the CPU..

and im using Raistmer's_opt_pack_V9_x86_SSE3_AMD_MB_CPU_GPU..

That's the problem. You installed an app designed to use both the CPU and GPU for SETI Multbeam wu's.

You need to switch over to the V9 multi GPU app. It will just use the GPU if you don't have astropulse wu's.

guess ill try that one now... god im so sick of switching between these things.. about ready to dump seti as well..

ok its working now.. had to go back in the CC_config and change it to 5 cpu's because it forced one of the cores to run with the seti cuda as well..

We just moved up to #22 in DC Vault, and we're only 443.86 points behind #21. And Proteins@home hasn't even been removed yet.

figured id just add the numbers in as well.. not to shabby of a jump right there.. moved up 94 spots in simap as well..

Nothing seems to be able to stop the [H]orde! Good job guys.

I hope to buy a quad core soon. It should give me a good boost. :)

So I'm thinking my next 3 upgrades for [H]ard raiding are going to be:

- upgrade my current e2180 to a q6600 for 2 more cores
- Buy a new mobo to get the 2180 back to crunching and move the 9600GSOs to a dedicated folding box
- Buy a 4850 of 4870 for Milkyway/gaming

Any thoughts? How goes the Milkyway on ATI crunching (someone said in this thread last week to hold off on this)?

@Jathanis - Well last week I went for several hours at a time, with no WUs at all from MW@home. Then middle of the day Saturday they started to kick in with a more consistent pace. I think they made some server changes and made the WUs a little bigger. The ATI WUs are now taking about 30 seconds instead of 16 seconds.

I'm about to go fire up my ATI card again so we'll see how it going tonight. Most of the weekend was solid though. I did almost 100K this weekend,as did tr0ch. I'll keep you posted.

My points finally showed up in PrimeGrid. Catch me if you can.:D

Yeah I was on top of primegrid for a while, I guess that is over. :( Haha. I don't know if ill ever catch you but I'll sure try maybe when I get my quad core and might have a chance, many months from now. haha

Glad you decided to join the [H]orde!

Looks like all my remaining Core i7 parts will be here by Thursday (except for the case, which I haven't decided on yet). Then I'm done for a while.

Jathanis, my dad has an E2160, and I think you'll see a big improvement going to the Q6600 (especially overclocked). And the nice thing about a separate F@H box is you can stick it in a spare bedroom and it doesn't matter how loud the fans are. :D

You've still got RCN. :D

I just crunched two LHC units. I can't get more, but they may be starting.

edit: I checked my account and I've been getting a slow trickle of LHC tasks today. Maybe they're still testing?

lol after going quad i dont think i could ever go back to dual core.. especially now that i relized my be-2350 even at 3ghz was bottlenecking me in games.. in ET:QW i was avging about 45-50fps.. now every map its a constant 60fps.. never drops.. fear 2 i was avging 50fps.. its now a constant 60fps and i didnt change any of the settings in either games.. heck even in supreme commander my frame rate went from 15fps to 45fps during major battles.. and the funny thing is none of the games ever maxed out my dual core.. yet it was still bottlenecking my gfx.. god i love quad cores now.. now whens the octo-cores coming damnit! :p

The other advantage I'd see by moving to a dedicated box for F@H is that my two 96s are on the family machine, and thanks to crappy Windows coding, every time someone uses their fast user switching account while I'm at work, I come home to EUE shutdowns... I figure I'm losing at least 5K pernts a week thanks to my wife & 5 year old... So when I'm done, I'll basically have the main home machine with 4 cores on BOINC and the ATI card on Milkyway, and the dedicated machine would be the dual cores on BOINC and the two 96s folding for now. And if I can run the ATI card and my old 8600GT, I'll use that card for GPUGRID if it would be worth it (wouldn't do crap for F@H, after all)

Then I'm thinking quad core Athlon for dedicated boxen #2 that I can later move the ATI card to, add a second ATI card... Damn folding bug! :p

Woo hoo! Finally got some thermal paste to reapply and was up to up my overclock from 2.4 back to 3.15 - now the SIMAP units have dropped from 50+ min each to about 35 minutes!

And at least now I'm no longer running a 1.8 GHz processor at 2.4 with no thermal paste...

OGR-27 has been quite the roller coaster since it was added. We had like a 1500 point bump a couple days ago sandwiched between a couple decent drops.

We missed out on way too much fun over the years and jumped in when everything was already stabilized. :D

According to the project, this is just normal activity. I also got work, but just two. Both took ~5 minutes for a claimed credit of 0.98. We'll really be tearing our way up the ranks at this rate. :D

This is a project that only requires occasional resources. When major new sets of runs have been planned we have been told in the past, and I expect we will be told again. Minor sets of runs are submitted as and when a question arises unexpectedly. If you stay on this project, expect to go for months at a time with no work. This is considered normal on this project, so do not expect explanations to be posted of why this happens.
I guess this is why the main page hasn't seen an update in almost a year.

Yeah, but if the Vault would update SIMAP 2x a day instead of once, we never would have dropped a place - they show us as still @ #303, but Free-DC stats shows us @ #246 & the current tally on the SIMAP page says we should be a couple places higher than that...

Don't blame the Vault, they can only work with what the projects will give them. Besides, we're in it for the long haul, and when we finally take down Ars who's going to care about when we slipped back to #23 for an update or two? :D

I'm still trying to figure out how to read the BOINC stats. On this page, does 9K "unsent" mean there are only 9K results left to grab from the SIMAP servers, but that 200K "in progress" have been grabbed and are sitting in BOINC client queues around the world?

i think its simap projects that were never sent or something along those lines.. i dont think it has anything to do with the current project..

btw i think we need to hammer ogr-27 pretty hard after this.. im going to dedicate a core just to ogr-27 after all this simap stuff is over.. which should be by the end of this week i think..

For OGR-27 I am going to put all of my computers on it. Hopefully it should help stop the loss of points.

I believe we are about 45.7% of the way done with the SIMAP units that were made available in this batch.
I'm referring to this page.

Proteins@Home is now gone, and we're up 58 places in SIMAP.

Edit: and we're less than 100 points back of #17.

I was able to create a malariacontrol.net team. They are not sending wu's right now but when they do we will at least be on the board. I joined the team with points but I'm not sure if that will put us on the vault.

What's a good BOINC stats site besides Free-DC? Whenever I search my name there now it only shows my DPAD and Folding@Home stats. Odd this is that it used to work fine last week.

Does anyone have an invitation code for malariacontrol.net? If so, just pm me so I can help out. Thanks. :)

We've been trying to figure out how to get an invitation since we started the Commandos. I actually was looking into it even before that.

You would think that you would want all the people you can get to help out with DC not try and limit your numbers.

Im focusing on OGR-27 and it still seems like we are losing massive amounts of points, other teams must have put alot toward there OGR-27 teams.
