Crysis 2 demo

and all trying to break into the console market lol now they have no market,

and wtf is with the nvidia ads on THIS site saying be ready for crysis 2 when it dosnt even support dx11

may aswell just download it for the single player, who cares about piracy, it dosnt matter how much people buy they still churn out this crap year after year
 
These were my impressions:

As soon as the game loads a message asks me to press "start". I am playing on a PC. I have no start button. If this obvious oversight has been missed this bodes very poorly for the rest of the game.

I sign in, go through all the BS, watch the video and join a game. The first thing I notice is that I can't move the mouse with out the screen becoming unbelievably blurry. It's playably bad. I have no idea how anyone could have thought that this was a good idea. I also notice that my frame rate is ~28 and very choppy. This is not going to work.

I go to the menu to change the graphics settings. I have three options. None of these options let me get rid of the blur, which makes playing impossible anyway. I set the game on the lowest settings, and now I get ~32 fps. Big whoop. Even worse than the frame rate, there is major input lag, easily larger than 100ms. The game is unplayable. For as bad as the performance is, it doesn't even look special. UE3 can churn out environments just as good as this and I get 150+ fps.

At this point I figured that I could either spend an hour or two trying to hack the game into being remotely playable, and even then the game play looked like a Call of Duty clone which isn't that good to begin with. I uninstalled. It's just not worth screwing with, and I doubt very much that it will be able to impress on the consoles as well.

I think Crytek is just pissed off because they think they should have sold more copies of Crysis, and they're showing it by putting exactly zero effort into pleasing their core audience. As a studio they do some things really well, but are very, very bad at a great deal of other things. They need to stick with what they are good at. I think that they think they deserve to hang with Halo and CoD, but they are just terrible at everything that made those titles successful. So much for this studio.
 
lol start button. And motion blur? Lets purposely ruin your vision of the game world! What a great idea.
 
Yeah the blur is seriously over done.
Even with the hack/mod it's still there.

Think I'll pass; Unless of course the SP is amazing.
 
I sincerely hope that it was their X360 dev team who did a shoddy console port of the demo rather than this being based off the final PC build.

Given Crytek's attitude about piracy on the first game, it's likely that WYSIWYG.

Silly! Obviously you are supposed to alt-tab out and then press the Windows logo start button to start the game!

You must live in the stone age man, keyboards come with windows start keys, no need to alt+tab out ;)
 
Seems ok looks so-so. I played for maybe 30min and then decided I'd rather be playing counter-strike.
