Counter Strike: Global Offensive

That's because BF3 is easy, CSGO is hard, and you're bad at playing it. Please don't flame a game because of your own incompetence or connection issues.

I played CS for over a decade, starting in beta 3. #1 team in both west and open early leagues. Started playing Quake via AOL and owning newbs with my 800 ping. Sure, I'm just a newb who doesn't understand how 3 people 5 feet in front of me, in a corridor, dodge all of my bullets.

Get 5, then we'll see about that ;)

Still on AOL maybe? :D

Lol, it's like a love fest of CS old timers from the pre steam era... coool!
Was just getting into it back in 1999 playing oil rig.... (seems a lifetime ago)

Hi. I'm [CoK]pigBenis, I remember you.

I remember your name ^^

Good ol' nostalgia. CS had a great community back then - great competition and respect among all the clans without the butthurt and whining of today's players. It was fun hanging out with everyone on mIRC chatting, setting up scrims, and watching text-based feeds from matches lol.

as_oilrig was an amazing map (Assassination was an awesome game mode) and I loved cs_militia for some reason. Never liked the dust maps very much. However, I'm god-awful at all versions of CS now since I quit cold turkey after quitting comp. I play TF2 now while waiting for a new version of Unreal Tournament *crosses fingers*.

Yep 16 back then, that was your prime. You're old and washed up, go back to Guild Wars 2. :p

Sadly true, whether you meant it sarcastically or not. :p

Hehe, I remember you! I'm [SYB]chineseman ^^. Twak and I used to pub all the time on your servers with Shinigami.

Hi! Figured someone from around that time had to be on these forums as well. AS_oilrig was great in an awesomely bad kind of way. Remember jailbreak mode? That was terrible.

People go through multiple Steam accounts for a number of reasons, including selling them etc.

People who have low digit steam accounts with experience on the account dont sell them.

Id say ive heard the line i posted about 90% of the time when asking someone. Yet they are terrible, account is a couple years old and no experience. They are bullshitting because they would have the above and not suck.

Most people don't care about digits, most people don't even know what they are. So yes. They do sell them.

And the people that do know what those digits mean, will probably be able to get more money by selling those accounts to other people who also know what those digits mean.

People who played long enough to have d/l'ed STEAM when it first came out definitely know exactly what digits mean. I even remember being pissed because I got off work in the afternoon and was already in the 5-digits the day of release.

Its weird to say but some of that just didn't really impress me. I guess if you put it in the prospective that he always played like that sure thats skill I spose.

As for digits I'm a 7 digit which puts me in a weird meaningless place. Like hey Im not new but I haven't been around long enough to be a 5 digit so Im just unimportant.

You need to take into account that 90%+ of that video is against world class players and teams. It's not like he's pub stomping he's playing against other players who, at that time, made large salaries and living playing the game.

Or, like some of us, actively avoided Steam originally due to its onerous DRM requirements (which at the time were hated by most gamers, not beloved Lord Steam with Archbishop Valve by its side). :p I caved in December 2004 ;).

Oh man. Oil Rig. I remember that map vaguely.

I bought Half Life 1 when it came out and got into the first near the very beginning. I'm still terrible at any incarnation of the game :D:D:D:D

I finally picked this up Saturday night, played a couple rounds on Sunday... some old memories coming back. I played a lot of CStrike and then got into running a DoD server with close friends for a few years during the glory days, just before and after Source came out.

I've only played one map but it's fun, not sure how much time I'll put into it but it will be a great game when I want to set us up the bomb and drink a few beers on the weekends. ;)

Steam? people really run that?

that's malware man

I loved Oil Rig :D.

Didn't happen often, but going ninja as the VIP and evading the entire T team after your team was dead was the best feeling. Particularly as you were jumping down the last few feet and someone turns around and they're all opening fire at you.

Just got around to buying this because of the Steam Sale.

I know it's been talked about to death in here, but it's really different.
Every gun seems to be insta-lethal. The movement feels way too smooth and slick, and it sort of reminds me of playing COD rather than playing CS. I'll probably play it a lot more before I come to final judgement on it (before saying it's junk or whatever a lot of other people in here are saying). But suffice it to say, it doesn't play like other games in the franchise.

I'd play with you guys at some point, but Thursday at that time does not work for me, GF's birthday dinner. :)
