Whoa whoa wait a minute, COD was never about Rainbow Six type gameplay, what were you expecting?!

You might not have noticed, but the game absolutely does this. The higher the difficulty level you play, the more it becomes apparent. The choke points are the most obvious parts that you can see that gameplay mechanic at work.
I completely agree. I'm an old Rainbow Six player so I hold modern shooters to that level. Perhaps that is unfair, but I can't get around it. The guns lack weight behind them and I hate the respawning of enemies. I feel as if I have to charge a point in order stop the respawning and progress the level rather than eliminate all of the targets. I felt the same way about COD2. And is is just me, or are there only three different skins for the bad guys? It seems like there is an army of clones with RPGs on their backs.

Yeah pissed me off quite a bit.
I'll admit I was a little bummed when I caught them resorting to the same ol' same ol' when it comes to generating enemies. CoD games have always relied on that type of nonending enemy spawn tho, so I just kind of chalk it up to being "Call of Duty" and thats how they do things.
On Veteran, it's freaking ridiculous the amount of enemies that the game pumps out.
I'm nearing the end on Hardened difficulty level (second hardest), and the later levels are quite challenging. I've never used so many nades in a short period of time ... it gets frantic.
Oh man, that should be crazy... I'm playing on Hardened right now.
When the game spawns a continuous wave of 8 enemies at you it gets annoying...
They are too aware of you and lob grenades like crazy idiots. I swear the demo on the Hardest setting was easier.
And heartwarming when they pick them up and throw them back at you.

you're right. if you want Rainbow Six, thats what you need to get. this is more of a mainstream shooter. GRAW2 is good if you like that stuff though. i enjoyed the demo and was thinkin about pickin it up.
I dont see any of these options do you guys? and whats HUD?
Team Hardcore - Hardcore Team Deathmatch and Search and Destroy. Limited HUD, extra bullet damage, friendly fire on.
Old School - Old School TDM and FFA. No classes. Weapons are pickups, health is increased, and jumps are higher.
Oldcore - Old School pick-ups and jumping. Hardcore limited HUD and extra bullet damage. TDM.
Ground War - Big team games-TDM and Domination.
If it was only that easy. In my opinion there hasn't been a true Rainbow Six since Raven Shield, and I do still play that. Modern tactical gaming is all but disappeared and only comes up as some game play mechanic added on to an action shooter (Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, etc).

What do you go by in RvS?

I can only join games with 0 players in them.
If I pick a game with other players in it it times out.
It happens the entire game. You can sit in one spot with your team surrounding a house and pick off guys in the windows for 20 minutes. You can literally kill hundreds of people in a single house if you don't advance.I did see that towards the end, on the silo mission. I just saw it as being the same as in MoH:A, a device to make you progress rather than sit back and snipe people. I tend to play games like I mean it, so I get stuck in, so I didn't really see any of the respawning enemy stuff, since I reached the trigger point quite quickly.

This reminds me of Goldeneye for the N64!
Alright, the opening was the coolest thing ever. You finish the ship mission and are greeted with "Infinity Ward Presents..." Not the biggest deal, but it's such a nice, cinematic touch.
Then you take that looong car ride as the intro credits roll. How awesome is that? I love it.![]()
I hate the car ride! My eyes keep drifting to the NON MOVING SPEEDOMETER!!!
Thats funny! I never would have thought to look at that...
While it's fresh on my mind as I'm playing this game, I have to bitch just a little... the whole "grenades from impossible angles, improbable throws. and sometimes out-of-freaking-NOWHERE aspect of the Call of Duty series is maddening.
I seriously just got grenaded outside and the only place the grenade could have possibly come from was the front of the house. I was at the back.
The AI must throw a wicked curveball, or be hitting them at me with a golf club.
Wicked slice on those guys.

If you liked that go watch the "wanted" movie trailer.
Follow the gold circle on the compass. That will lead you to the spot. You'll see a glowing gold silhouette where you plant the beacon.Someone please help me out here. Im in the second mission (I think) and there's a stuck M1 and RPG's on the roof. They're asking me to plant the IR beacon and I DONT HAVE ONE! I cant find it either. I keep trying the "use" key and it aint working. Im at my wits end here.

I just picked up the game this weekend, at BB for $39, price match ftw!
This game is friggen awesome! Opening cinematics, wow, very cool. Runs like butta on oc'd 8800GTS non-sli on 24" LCD at 1920x1200.
Graphics are wicked, oh and running vista x64.
Sweet a$$ game!
