Interesting that the military victory only requires taking control of the capital - I'm not sure I like that change.

Anyone else find the way they are dealing with mods fascinating? Instead of getting their knickers in a twist over it like the majority of companies they are letting you browse mods for civfanatics in game. Taking a fanatic user base and employing it to your own advantage instead of screwing your fans over... hmmm I know a lesson is in there somewhere *cough* ubisoft *cough*
Speaking of which i know this is a little off topic, but any other highly recommended Civ4 mods? I just got Rise of Mankind from this threads suggestion, should be checkint it out tonight. but I forgot all about mods i used to have a lot for civ2.

I always thought that should have a bigger impact than it does in the game...weaker nearby cities could either go nuetral, join the new regime or join a different civ or stronger cities (culturally I guess) might form thier own nation and pull in the surrounding cities...
No game is perfect. Even great games can be more perfect than what they are.
If anything, the Civ games need to be updated semi-regularly just to keep the graphics modern - usually that means a whole new engine and a whole new UI (so 'patching' the game isn't going to work.)
I can't think of one reason not to be excited about Civ 5.
