Chimp Challenge : Official thread

Gotten my Quad all switched on over and also my roommate's Quad's coming online - both running dual SMPs expect about 8k from us both combined daily.

9x333 = 3Ghz - 3600-3800PPD
9x378 = 3.4Ghz - 4300PPD

Those three would never know what hit them!
 
Well I got my two standard clients switched over. I'll switch my GPU2 client over tomorrow morning as well as my borgs. Also i think that I can get two more C2D borgs (pending approval) for the challenge!!!:) So that will probably get us about another 1K+ PPD.

I just wish Stanford would release some bigger WU's for the GPU2 clients. I was hoping for some better utilization of my 3870 for the Chimp Challenge. :(

Ok, read over some FAQs and stuff... new to the [H]orde for the Chimp Challenge. Downloaded the V6 beta client (x86 client on vista x64). Set my username to [H]ardApe, 33, passkey etc.

Running 2 V6 clients on my 8x400 Q9450. Am I all set? (PM if necessary)

Make sure your second client has a different machine ID and also make sure they have big WU enabled. Basically all set.
 
Hey I just saw the contest listed on the front page, I haven't folded in over a year but now that I have had a slight upgrade in my system and read this thread, I have been inspired again.

Does anyone know the specifics on why the gpu client still stuck on ati hardware only? Just got a geforce 9600gt to replace my radeon x800. And this is the first any only reason I have the slightest regret.

Besides selecting Team 33 is there any other info I need to enter into the client settings to make sure I'm folding for the challenge?
 
Make sure your user name is [H]ardApe and keep you team to 33.

And sorry as of yet there is no client for your GPU.
 
Just a small peek before I leave for a trip out of town. I'm really glad that the FPP paid off.

Double check your weapons (err, boxens), reload on poo ammo, do the war chest pounding and fold on !!!

My two main boxen are switched over and ready to go. I'm trying to get a couple things taken care of to maximize points as much as possible, but I don't know what I can get done.

Project [H]ardRape is 100% Go. I even delayed a few hours (1-2hrs) a couple of turn ins so they count for the challenge. I should have about 5k points turning in right about 15min after 2pm! hehehe

I've got both my SMP clients and my work machine changed over and running full steam.
 
I've got a couple more single SMP's reassigned for duty. This brings me up to 26 cores at 3 Ghz or better processing SMP for the challenge.

 
Okay - about to switch things over. Whats with the passkey in the first post? Cant I just edit the client.cfg to change the username on all my clients and restart them?

Just ignore it. I left my passkey in so I don't have to retype it later. :p



 
Hmm, wondering if we are going to fall to last position only to suddenly come out of the gates like a wild pack of rabid dogs chewing up the competition. We are working our way to 4th position just before the contest. I'd love it if we were last and quickly overtake first!



 
All but one of my smp clients are now switched over. I'll get the q6600 at home changed over this evening.

I was wondering why the stats page linked here has already started counting points towards the challenge. The official rules state that the event doesn't begin until 12pm noon, PDT.

Anyone?

Just remember your time zone differences, guys and gals. If you're EDT, then your trigger time is after 3PM. Central is 2PM, Mountain is 1PM, and of course - if you're on the left coast, then you already know when to turn loose! ;)
