I'm still herding the ape along to his eventual finish. I plan to keep it that way until he is there. i'll leave the borgs in my own name for simplicity's sake.
 
I've got about 40k rocking the Ape. I have one borg that I can't change myself.
 
Still rockin the ape with around 120K to 140K PPD. I intend to see this to the end. Will soon have access to 6 more GTX275's that I hope to put on the ape if I can find homes for all of them. All of my single client borg's remain under my name though since their PPD is not worth the effort to hunt them all down to change them.
 
I keep with the [H]ape untill sunday and then the farm will be shut down.

I'm going on holiday for two weeks and don't trust it to run unattanded for all that time.
My internet connection is not that stable and if it drops it will not reconnect without a hard reset.

When I restart it will be under my name again.

Does your Connection method (router?) have a reboot option? Most routers can be set to auto reboot and intervals (Nice for routers that run out of mem).

We all are watching the close races and hope to see you guys pick up your pace.

Right now the mighty [H]orde looks more like [H]alf-Arsed. :eek::p

I switched over my setup (12k) from the ape, but I guess there is no harm in switching over tomorrow now that my PCpc 750w is here, I can get my ~30k back up and running full blow for the ape, just to finish out
 
Storm shut off my main rig today. I'm going to leave it off until the twista's leave the state. I wish a 1kw UPS didn't cost 4 times what a 500W one does.

most people dont care about the CC after the fact. We finished 5th, and considering the economy, and the fact we are a middle man team, its not suprising either, and I think most of us realize that we earned what we got and we dont think there is anything wrong with it. The CC is fun and all, and it did bring back some old players we lost, and I think thats the goal, wasnt it? Try to get more/old people back/into folding

I dont really care much. I sacrificed a card and 2 PSU's trying to push my rigs as far as I could, and now that its over (and it is over) there is no reason not to switch back. I'm not sure If I'll actually switch back now. Ive got my ramp up to ~27000 PPD now, and once I hit 30k im not sure if I'll bother with changing over, I mean a WU is WU, no matter who you fold for/under, folding is the goal, and we havnt made anyone quit, so it dont matter.

I know I'm back to my goal of getting to be one of [H]'s top so many folders, and hopefully be able to get DC'er of the month eventually, so I'll probly keep folding in my name. Plus, I like the personal competition (I'm coming for you Doozer!!) and how you can have little arch nemesis's (Doozer.... :) ). I just think its more fun and more personal folding for a large name.

Call me what you will, but the challenge is over. It was a race to see who could hit 20 first, and we hit that goal, so its over. If you think about it, with the same mentallity that we are using now, the last team could keep under their name and beat the winner, does that mean they won? Its all good and all, I'm not mad at anyone, but I think I'll let it die, and look forward to the CC next year!

I really wanted to finish this but I also am tired of pushing everything so hard and would like to get back to my normal folding routine now. It seems that we sorta have a split on staying with the cc vs. switching back. How bout we get a word of advice from our CC captain, Xilikon?
 
It appears that our fearless leader is only producing about 700 ppd in his own name. That tells me we should stay with it and cross the finish line. I figure if some people pass me while I'm pushing [H]ape with the rigs I control then it's just more targets for the mulcher blades on down the road. That said it's nice to have 7-8k ppd worth of borgs that I'm not buying power for.

It's not over. How could you think it was over? [H] never had a chance of winning, neither did any of the other teams currently occupying the runners up positions... That said we all decided to take part anyway. Why? Because knowing we couldn't beat the top teams we decided to see how we'd go against the rest. If that's not true for you or the rest of your team, wtf were you doing in the race to start with?


We all signed up, we all okay'd the 20Mil finish line, so now grow a pair and fold till the finish.
 
It's all fun and games, but don't bring that shit here, keep it in your own forums, we don't tolerate that here. Don't insult people, especilly folders, just because they don't want to play your game

It was all volunteer, don't make this into something it isn't, not on our boards
 
Forgive me if I'm a tad disappointed that the no.1 folding team hasn't got the metal to even finish the race.

We're ahead of you at the moment, and that's great for us, but knowing that you don't even care and aren't trying? Makes it kind of hollow you know? See where I'm coming from at all?
 
Flame all you want, but it was to see who could get 20 first, and someone got 20. If y'all wanna keep pushing that name (don't remember what yalls name was) all year, you'll pass 1st some time, does that mean that then you win? Imo it was over when it was supposed to be, when someone makes 20. It would have ended just like the charts say, so it's done IMO.

And it was all voluntary anyways. So don't get all high and mighty on me about us being #1. We got that because people want to fold for us. We didn't get the CC because some people couldn't be bothered to or just didn't want to play the game. 2 totally differant areas. Again, were are more the lower/middle class folders, we don't have 1mil+ ppd guys, we just have a lot of avg joes and a few highly motivated joes.

That's not how to look at it at all, you are so very very wrong. Look at it like a marathon. 100 people might enter the race, do the 99 others stop running when no.1 crosses the line? NO! Everyone who is able finishes the race. That's what I expect from you guys.

Your opinion on this matter disheartens me like I cannot explain. Frankly I'm disgusted and can only hope you don't speak for the majority.

OCAU has no million ppd folders, that's what made this a competition for us. We knew we couldn't compete with OCN, we knew we couldn't compete with EVGA, we knew we couldn't compete with MPC, yet here we are. We were excited at the prospect of competing once again against you guys and against other teams currently below us. We set a finish line, and that line is when the competition is over. Quitting now is just childish.

If we don't follow the challenge to its conclusion, ie all teams across the line, what is it that differentiates the challenge from folding in general? The answer is nothing. Nothing at all.

IMHO poo is still flingable so long as it's confined to this thread. I see where all the points are coming from and have no problem with any of them, however if you consider the CC done and over and don't want to see anything more about it, this thread is the only one you have to avoid. /tosses donuts on the table and quietly munches one.

I can see both sides and They are both valid.

I believe the captains need to get together and probally do something like ask those that do not own the systems they use not to join the CC.

Of course then EVGA is going to chimp slap us all! :D That of course is another issue. with corporate sponsorship EVGA team may have to be moved into a catagory of it's own (compete with default and consoles anon?).

BTW hurry up and get that damn monkey Paw [H]opeless, I think the bad Juju is stored in the Jade Monkey until the Paw is dished out!!!!!!!! :eek: /poo off

You know this is really getting to be a tired argument :rolleyes:. I can see validity on both sides, the finish at all cost side and the side that figures the race was over when 20 mil pernts was attained.

I hope we're all rational adults here and this goes to the heart of the "you have a choice and you do what you think is best" argument at the begining of the CC. All the people pissing and moaning about some others not switching over for the race. Now we've got people pissing and moaning about how some people for whatever reason have switched back to their folding handles. (cry min eee, give me a freakin' break) :mad:

What I have done is shut down the two (2) boxen I had built especially for the CC (electric f*cking bill) I put one of my Q6600 G0's back to WCG and I"ll probably put the other on WCG here shortly (CPU, the GPU's are GPU2) I've been ignoring WCG since the CC. The two (2) GPU cards I put back under my folding handle. Now if someone don't like that "f*ck off" I paid for the boxen, they're solely my boxen and I feel I'll do whatever the f*ck I want with them.

Oh by the way. when I was in Viet Nam I read a lot about what the hypocrit, know it all's had to spout in the Stars and Strips. (kinda' reminds me of this BS) +:rolleyes:

Now hold on a sec, Heur, EVGA does not sponsor our presense in the CC, and they don't really even support it -- If anything, people have more incentive to NOT participate, since they're only eligible for EVGA's prizes and promotions if they're folding on their own name. Our performance in the CC was a result of our users rallying together and putting everything they had into it -- entirely of their own will. There were quite a few people worried that we'd fail to perform up to par because many users wouldn't see the CC as being worth the hassle... It seems they had nothing to worry about.
 
It's all about the science guys. :)

This was my first CC so I was under the impression that it was all over once someone reached the goal.
Perhaps next year we can make it clear if that isn't the way we are doing things.

In the end it doesn't really matter what name we fold under as long as we are folding.

In my opinion, if that's the point of view the bulk of the [H] is going to have, then we have to stop calling ourselves a team.

You have no right to belittle someone else's contribution to the team simply because they decide to fold under their own name. Everyone owns their own farm and has the right to contribute the way they see fit.
