Borderlands 3

I finally completed the Krieg DLC. My lord what a SLOG. The bosses are all just bullet sponges. They aren't even particularly challenging (except the Train, which adds dozens and dozens of random mobs), but they take so much damage. I found myself constantly running low or even out of ammo for my main 4 guns. This is with a build geared around damage stacks and a pile of elite weapons. SMG's clearly still suck as when I was stuck resorting to one, I might as well have been unarmed. Maybe this was the fault of poor Mayhem scaling, but I hated playing this DLC and have no plans to ever go back. Both this and the second Takedown mission sucked.

Season 2 is going to be a "no" for me at the moment. I might hop back in if they re-do Mayhem, bring the Cartel mission back, or if there's a major sale on Season 2. Otherwise, I'm done.

Yeah it was fairly horrible. I didn't even understand what happened in the story. Or maybe I do and it was just that bad.

The western and casino DLC were okay. The other two were pretty dull.

For what it's worth, the new Arms Race stuff seems interesting. I'm re-thinking buying that. I guess it's almost like a Battle Royale game where they drop you into an area with no gear. Mayhem doesn't apply, either. What you find, you keep...but you have to make it through the level and kill the boss to claim it.
That'll bring back the joy of using random new weapons and it'll make things less of a slog with M10 on.

Story is
Krieg was tortured and broke into two personalities but survived, probably the first to do so. He comes to terms with it and gets better~ish. (from memory, probably not 100%)

Haven't played this yet, amazon Canada had the game for playstation/xbox for $10 so I bit. Looking forward to it since I loved the first 2 games so im sure I will have alot of fun, makes me happy they [rovide a free xsx upgrade as well so it should be a good time even for a "console" lol

It's very worth playing, most of the complaints are nitpicking.
I'd say if you liked 1 and 2 you know what problems will come up. You're either on board with the Borderlands style or not. My only real complaint was the main villains were pretty terrible.

You'd think with these companies spending 10's if not 100's of million dollars to make these games they could find some decent writers or story tellers.

I've never played this game but the visuals are appealing; is on sale at Steam right now; is there more to the game than just shooting and looting? Would you choose Borderlands 1 or 2 (2 is $5 right now.)

They are very different yet similar.

BL1 has a much more austure estitic, but it has better weapons and squibs (shoot off heads and such). its very short on plot, basically shoot things, open chests, loot guns. The base 4 characters are better than 2.

BL2 very much sanitized of the squibs in favor of a colorful arcade approach, its guns also lack in fun compared to one (not that much, but its there). the initial four heros kinda suck compared to one, but they introduce Krieg in the expansion and imho he is the single best hero they have ever made, if he was in three thats who i would be. BL2 has the best villian by far.

BL3 fixes the guns and squibs (largely) the cast is a bit lacking, heros aren't as bad as base 2, but not as good as base 1. Plot is better than one but worse than 2. graphics are great, enviroments are great, its overall probably the best BL.

Personally i prefer 1 to 2 as I loved the squibs and how it made your guns feel impactful vs the arcade of numbers that 2 is. But two has way more play time and the expansions are way better.

Designer Cut arms race is great fun I don't understand all the negative reviews on Steam. If you watch a few videos before you play it it's how the game is suppose to be which is fun instead of nuking everything with your legendary weapons. Picked up season pass 2 on Epic for 20.00 I extracted two orange guns which you can't use while in the Map. I think once you know the map it could be mundane but the game is actually fun now =)

I got part way threw it, have enjoyed what I've played but I kinda lost interest. Just 100% BL2 eight before I started though so will give it a try in a bit when the BL 2 grind isnt such a fresh wound.

I finally picked this up on Epic...seems basically like any other BL game so far, we'll see how long it keeps my interest. Graphically it seems hit or miss, considering how intensive on the system it is.

Yeah, much of the casting sounds like the production staff read page one of the wiki and called it good.

The weapons so far really feel like crap in this. I can't recall if BL1/2 were like this but it's like nothing has any impact at all, they all feel like pea shooters.

Broken hearts day has made my game unplayable. Refusing to load in dx12 oh well wasn’t that great of a game anyway

To me, all the weapons are weak- with the exception of the game breakers. It's almost like you can ignore the color/rarity, and worry more about the weapon. I had a green shotgun that got me through almost half the game, couldn't find anything that worked better.

Directors cut has the Varkid Raid boss released I'm not sure what else. I'm sure the loot will be good.

Won't be long now before it's out. I played through the original BL3 game and was pretty burned out by the end, so I never tried any of the DLC. Now I'm looking forward to revisiting all of it in the Director's Cut.

Geez, just saw there it's been delayed almost a month, citing "challenges arising from the severe weather that impacted Texas last month."

Really?!? Sounds to me like they had more problems than cold weather if it was less than a week from release and they suddenly postponed it.

I'm so tired of these companies constantly pushing back release dates!

I cant always maintain 60 fps in DX11 as I get random FPS drops just into the upper 50s which causes some hitching with vsync. It has nothing at all to do with being gpu limited as usage is quite low at 1440p with a 2080 ti and not a cpu issue since I have a 9900k. DX12 works just fine with no drops but it is about 10% more demanding for some reason. I have the headroom so it being more demanding is not an issue but just an observation.

World: I thought it was supposed to be ready? When?

I just talked to some guy on Youtube you get these Diamond keys at the vault is under the bridge in Sanctuary is where the vault is which is only accessible if you own the DLC. Not totally sure how you get the Diamond keys and how to grind them something about using vault cards can't find a video on it since it just came out.

So there is a an additional bar down by the XP which fills up when you play the game which is the vault card gauge

Hmmmm. I haven't touched Borderlands 3 in months. I might give it a whirl again. Last I recall the Druglord Mansion weapons were still the best available even though they were capped like 5 levels lower than everything else.

Raid Boss Varkid is fun trying to figure out how to do it over. You just exit the to the main menu to do it over.
500 Eridium to open the gate but I have a stockpile of 99 million. Mayhem 4 was too hard couldn't get past the 2nd stage without dying every two seconds. The drops you get are like 40% increases mods for different gun manufactures which help a ton even more then the mod you get from DLC 2 the pearl mod.
