Yea, its getting pretty depressing.. This block seems to have made about 1/3 of the people to pull their miners elsewhere, possibly premanently.. 5.6mil Shares in and only 20Ghash..

Fuck..This...Block...

It better be Magic and have like 150 BTC in it, lol

I'm still mining, for the moment! I may stop until it is more profitable (after this block of course)! Though, I make more trading anyway! With the drop in price, you can buy more, and in turn sell more with the same price swings as at $8-10!

I don't think it was the block as much as the downtime. That said, this round is just painful.
 
If anything, I'm pumping more power into minig.
Had to shut down the farm to swap hardware around, but once I'm done, I should have another 1+ GH (3x 6950s).

Sorry, I'll leave 1.2GH/s on Simplecoin out of the sympathy for the pain the rest of you guys are going through but coupled with the huge drop in value, most of my miners are at BTC Guild for now.

I had all 6 GH/s on there for days and it didn't even make a dent while costing me almost two weeks of high electricity usage with no gains. When the pool was still around 30 GH/s I would have given it another try but adding another 6 GH/s to 16 GH/s won't really do much of anything to be honest. I honestly don't know how this block will finish. I think it may keep sticking it to us until the difficulty drop.

Also, it's been too hot these past few days and I've had to shut off two machines until the weather changes anyway. I don't have any A/C.

I may change my mind later on tonight when it cools down and I start some machines up again. Their startup scripts are for simplecoin so I may leave them.

Transaction fees are not fees you pay to a pool. They are the fees the block finder gets for all future transactions with the BTC in that block. Almost all pool owners/operators keep transaction fees regardless of the type of pool.

Well, it balances out. Their hashrate is so massive that they find blocks almost twice as often as the next 2 largest pools.

Strange brief spikes in price and volume at mt. Gox that also seems to appear at other exchanges.

Like it went from $5 to $16 then $4

Either hackers are at work, big traders are jacking with the market, the exchanges are screwing with everybody, or the exchanges are having errors in their reporting.
 
maybe it's just the paranoid in me but it may have been some sort of test run for a large simultaneous attack // shenanigans on all of the exchanges.

Going to set a sell order at $20 and buy order at $0.01 just encase lol.
 
Going to keep my coins in my wallet until we get a steady $10+

Looks forward to the difficulty drop coming up, I'm happy with the steady 1.5+ BTC a day I'm getting from BTCguild.

Currently have 7 6950/6970's but they have not been tweaked to reach their full potential. I will have 9 running soon.

I was getting 0 BTC a day at Simplecoin over the past two weeks because of block from hell x2 :) I have not done so well at Simplecoin because I wasn't mining there when you had the early August bonanza.

I get about 3 BTC a day at BTC Guild from the 11/15 miners that I have there. It shows your realtime 24 hour rewards and it's a pretty reliable and steady rate. Blocks from hell only last hours instead of weeks and if I miss some time, it doesn't mean that if I miss a lucky block that I am screwed for the rest of the month because the blocks come so fast. It's also my failover pool for those 4 miners that I did leave at Simplecoin.

Well tsd.. I hate to say it, but your pool seems to pretty much have died.. under 10Ghash now.. Unless we hit some kind of super awesome luck again, I dont think people are coming back.. Im gonna leave my miners there for the sake of finishing this horrendous block, but after that, might go back to Deepbit or BTCGuild..

I hope it gets life back to it, but I hope you didnt spend a bunch cash on your servers if the pool dries up..
