BFBC2 Multiplayer better on PC or PS3?

Not open for further replies.
I have it on PC, played it on my friends ps3 one day.

Didn't like it as much, mainly cause its harder to get headshots and aim in general. Mouse and keyboard rules for this type of game. Plus the online community for the PC version is pretty strong, never have problems finding servers.

PC all the way for me. Some people i know say its better on 360...but i think they are nuts.

PC the graphics are so much better that I don't like playing on 360 anymore.

and of course mouse and keyboard.

first time here lol? pc for fps is always better... there might be more console players for crap like mw2 but that doesnt make it right..

Having never played the 360 or ps3 version, I can confidently say that the pc version is the best version for this game.

Not necessarily...The game feels 100% like a console game. It's design, gameplay, and the like isn't anywhere near what the BF franchise has been for PC. I favor PC games much more so than console, but these reasons made it hard for me to play a console port on my PC.

PC by far. The console copy of BC2 is dumbed down btw. Weapon dmg is different.

To be honest, I think the reason that this isnt a battlefield 3 (or wasnt battlefield 3) is because it ISNT supposed to be like the classic games. It has its own feel and DEFINITELY feels more infantry oriented. Yes there are tanks and choppers and such but the emphasis is infantry and I for one really like it. I have no doubt that the actual BF3 will have the same formula thats made BF1942, BF2 and BF2142 so popular. That formula being that armor and air lead the way with infantry coming in for the kill. IMO anyway.

Comparing the gameplay of pc vs. console version is like night and day.

on the console the gameplay is a lot slower, not as many players. people's aiming is hindered because of the controller, especially at extreme distances. and i watch my roomate play and im always thinking "wtf get behind cover, you'll be stone dead on pc version if you stand in that obvious of a spot."

if you like a slower paced game, get the ps3 version, if you like a faster type, go for pc.

but seriously, its fps, get it for PC.

It's a FPS.

'nuff said.

These.

32 players on the PC >> 24 players on the console. These are giant maps, it's a noticeable difference.

dude its no faster on pc than it is on console

and WTF do you mean "aiming is hindered because of the controller", im just as extremely accurate with the controller as i am with the mouse.

yea ok, the extra 4 players on the opposing team makes the game so much faster *SARCASM*

and PCs are no better for fps than console

Aiming is a bit sluggish on consoles. If someone gets the jump on you, you're likely already dead before you can turn and face him. Then if you jack up the sensitivity, there goes your precision.

and PCs are shit for fps

That would depend on the PC.

not really, i play every fps at the highest sensitivity and have no problem turning around quickly and killing them before they kill me

That's you, and even on your fastest sensitivity, my mouse > your l337 joystick skills.

not true either, a friend of mine only gets 25 fps and owns everyone everygame

A "friend of yours." Really? You're going to use that one?

Why are you trolling a hardware forum dude?

I really wish PC + console players could play together. even with auto-aim console would get pwned hard.

In general, the majority of people (especially on a hardware forum) is going to prefer PC. It really depends on what type of system you own. If you own a POS PC then of course console gaming is gonna look better, but odds are if you're on this forum, you'll have a system that will surpass the consle versions in load times and graphics.

For the gaming uneducated, consoles will be easier to "jump in." but the advantages of PC on multiplayer will far outweight that ease.

Pros for PC:
-Keyboard/Mouse, better controls and better customization for controls
-Deticated servers: more options, potential for communities to form (stick to a server and you'll get to know some players)
-Potential grapical settings: see my sig for specs, playing at 5760x1200 resolution (48:10 aspect ratio) with max detail (4xAA) gives an experience unparalleled by consle FPS. It doesn't make me a better gamer, but it makes the game much more fun!
-Free DLC (I think): the last maps were free on PC, I heard they were paid DLC on the consoles
-Game can normally be found for cheaper (I got BC2 from EA download for $20, thank you PAX)

Pros for the Console:
-Simplicity: Jump in and play! (some people dont want to look for servers)
-More normalization of players (no 1337 XBOX system to give a player a crazy advantage): though i argue better PC systems dont make better players anyway.

am I the only one here who uses keyboard and mouse on consoles? you can put a X.I.M together for like 45$ and use any k+m you want on any game you want.

I recently bought a scorch360, which is the left side of the controller plus a mouse. Not incredibly accurate to say the least, no where near precise in comparison to those XIM360 videos.

XBOX 360 is the best for fps and should always be used for fps

If you're as "extremely accurate" on 360 as you are on PC than you're probably pretty horrible with a mouse. I don't care who you are or what you think there's absolutely no way to get the accuracy, and consistency that a mouse enables you to have with a analog stick. Go watch some competitive PC gamers and take a note out of their book.

This whole FPS on PC thing, you're doing it wrong son.

Go watch a game of Shadowrun, PC vs 360 and you'll see console gamers owning up PC gamers. Matter of fact, go buy Shadowrun for $10 and see how well you stack up against the highly competitive (and quite good) console community.

I dare you.

I own shadowrun run and I'm just gonna take this time to laugh at you. I can't believe you just brought up shadowrun.

I'm not saying that a console player can't grasp the core mechanics and/or have a heightened game sense within their respective games. (Generally they don't) and afterall someone who knows the game inside and out will still more time's than not beat the person who has the "raw" skill.

I'm just saying, simply put, one is limited physically by the use of a controller in comparison to a mouse and keyboard. You just simply don't have the functionality. I can't hear a teammates call, spin around and hs a guy somewhere and than jump, duck behind cover, spin again and get somebody else somewhere, rocket jump/strafe jump to a strategic position, or look away at the blink of an eye when you a see flash grenade. You don't see super quick twitch hs's, or amazing in air rocket kills.

On console it's about using the left stick, leading your shots, and strafing into head shots. It's still fun, and there's a totally different learning curve than gaming on pc but I can't see how anyone could argue that you can perform the same with a game pad than a proper mouse and keyboard setup.

Playing CoD on a console is alright but it's a whole different beast compared to PC. There are define differences in play style and if you were to "pepsi challenge" two video's, one of each, it would a night and day difference and you could easily tell which is PC. A game like Halo on the other hand plays extremely well with a game pad, that's because it was meant for it and it's probably the only time when that's the case. A good BR battle is great thing. I just don't get the logic behind the argument, it's not there.

I played Shadowrun on the PC when it came out for a few months. From what I understand, they purposely decreased the ability of pc users to aim like they do in other games in order to give console users an advantage. If I remember correctly, I could not turn past a certain speed. So if I need to aim 90 degrees to the left to shoot someone, it would take twice as much time as in any other pc shooter.

In addition, there is auto-aim. The "feel" of the game as pure shooter is just off. But I guess that's to be expected if you're trying to level the playing field of a pc user to 360 users.

Haha, Oh wow.
