BFBC2 Multiplayer better on PC or PS3?

If you're as "extremely accurate" on 360 as you are on PC than you're probably pretty horrible with a mouse. I don't care who you are or what you think there's absolutely no way to get the accuracy, and consistency that a mouse enables you to have with a analog stick. Go watch some competitive PC gamers and take a note out of their book.

This whole FPS on PC thing, you're doing it wrong son.

thats your opinion

For the gaming uneducated, consoles will be easier to "jump in." but the advantages of PC on multiplayer will far outweight that ease
.

-Did you really just call console gamers the retards of gaming?
-Competitive players on consoles outweigh PC

Pros for PC:
-Keyboard/Mouse, better controls and better customization for controls
-Deticated servers: more options, potential for communities to form (stick to a server and you'll get to know some players)
-Potential grapical settings: see my sig for specs, playing at 5760x1200 resolution (48:10 aspect ratio) with max detail (4xAA) gives an experience unparalleled by consle FPS. It doesn't make me a better gamer, but it makes the game much more fun!
-What has better controls is your opinion
-I don't give a shit about dedicated servers, and i don't need them to find people to play with, that's what my friends list is for
-"Potential Graphical Settings", don't make a game fun and great, look at how bad CRYSIS was, and they don't make you suck any less.

thats your opinion

You just keep saying "that's your opinion" but you're totally side-stepping any point I make, most of which are logical.

There is a physical limitation with a controller when playing FPS games. If I'm playing something like splinter cell, dead space or a racing game I'm going to naturally choose a controller usually my 360 controller, because it is more natural and better suited to those type's of games. FPS are best experienced with a mouse and keyboard, they play alright with a controller but it's a different style of play.

I'm not sure if you've ever used a proper mouse and keyboard setup but a good mouse and a nice huge mousepad can do wonders.

"Potential Graphical Settings", don't make a game fun and great, look at how bad CRYSIS was, and they don't make you suck any less.

I don't think you've even played Crysis. That PC in your sig wouldn't even come close and you're probably just rattling off what you've read else-where. There's been a ton of shit game's released in the past few years, and Crysis certainly wasn't one of them. People were just pissed they couldn't run it, think of it as the Windows Vista of the gaming world.

Defending a a controller over a mouse/kb combination for an FPS is just plain retarded. 90% of the gamers on this forum have a console and a gaming comp and 99.9% of them would prefer a kb/mouse combination over a controller. I've played all series of Halo/Gears of War competitively and I'm sorry in terms of speed and accuracy, there's just no comparison. The "great" moves and headshots on the console are normal on the PC.

That and you have to factor in distance. Majority of PC gamers play 1-2 feet from their screen at high resolutions 1680X1050 or above.... whereas the average console plays on a 42-50 inch screen playing at 1280X720 at 5-7 ft. (1080P games are still far and few). You can't even compare resolutions, precision and accuracy as well as framerates. Than you put in input lag from a wireless controller vs a high speed USB. Most Consoles are capped at 60 fps if not 30 FPS whereas most high end PC's get FPS well over 100.

All technical things aside... just from experience playing on both platforms extensively back to teh days of the atari 2600 and 386 days.... really trying to compare precision and speed on a PC (kb/mouse) and console (controller) is plain assnine and ignorant. You may be more comfortable with it but let me play against a console gamer and me on my PC and I'll be licking me chops.

My Ass...

- you can pretty much cheat out anyone when your playing pc with high viewing angles and extrawide screens, which doesn't make you good.

- i don't play 5-7 feet away from my 52" screen its more like 1-2.

- you won't be able to see 100 fps anyway.

Go watch a game of Shadowrun, PC vs 360 and you'll see console gamers owning up PC gamers. Matter of fact, go buy Shadowrun for $10 and see how well you stack up against the highly competitive (and quite good) console community.

I dare you.

You dare us? I'd love to see how much e-balls you have if you weren't challenging PC gamers in a game where the entire control system was set up to gimp them so that the 360 players wouldn't get trounced.

Barring PC vs Console fanboy BS aside, the best advice would be to go where your friends are at. All my friends have BC2 on PC, so I got it on PC. All my friends got RDR on the 360, so I'm probably going to get it on 360. My friends all have borderlands on PC, guess which system I got it on.

this.

From wikipedia:

Because of the lack of 'pixel-accuracy' with the Xbox 360 analog thumbstick, the designers have included an aim-assisting technology, which basically interpolates the player's movement and causes the reticle to stay over an enemy player like a weak magnet. In addition, FASA has implemented a feature which causes the cross-hair to expand during quick movements, thus lowering the player's accuracy, making it impossible to quickly turn and maintain accuracy, reducing the potential advantage of playing with a mouse.[7][8] PC players, who have a more sensitive control scheme, are able to turn significantly faster than their controller-using counterparts and would have gained an unfair advantage.

I fixed that for you. Can't miss the small print, imo.

I'm not sure why th OP never mentioned where his friends play.

Who the hell dares people in video games challenges over a message board? I feel like I took the vernacular time machine back to the 1990's.

wikipedia is full of lies anyway...

If I owned a pre-made crap PC and couldn't afford anything better I'd be arguing for consoles also- it'd probably cathartic. <EDIT: this is my opinion.

100FPS isn't neccesarily about what you see, and I'm not even gonna get into that argument with you. It's about the feel. Any competitive pc player will be able to tell you the difference that a high/stable FPS makes. Everything feel's smoother, every looks smoother (animations) and in some instances like Q3/CoD/CoD2 there's added benefits of having 125fps.

i guess you don't know what a friend is...

Cool, so you sat down on your friends machine, walked around a little bit maybe killed a couple of guys and than passed judgement on the game as a whole. Sweet~

and again, it is not a fact and is your opinion...

How old are you?

The guy's who play Halo are skilled, I'll admit that, but the person who said that those amazing shot's you see in Halo are a common place amongst PC gamer's is spot on. Halo is probably the closest thing that the console's have to a competitive game and the reason it works so well is because it was built from the ground up to be played on 360. MLG makes Bungie a ton of money, so there's all kind's of things competitive friendly built into the game, and there's also a reason why every MLG Pro uses a wired controller, aside from interferance reasons.

wikipedia is full of lies anyway...

Jesus Christ, go back to the gamespot forums it's where you belong.

I can't speak for what he was saying, but I'll step up to the plate myself:

Console gamers are the retards of gaming.

Nothing wrong with the consoles themselves, particularly if you're poor and can't afford a nice PC. Although I think even among poor people, gaming on a console is a sign of laziness and/or stupidity. A high end PC will cost less than a console over time if you play a lot. The typical new release PC game is $20-$30 on ebay whereas the typical new release console game goes for $40-$55. Then you also get raped on accessories with a console, Xbox live fees, and probably have to buy more than one Xbox because they're so unreliable. Keeping a high end dual gpu PC + games costs less than a Xbox 360 + games, so there's little reason to choose the vastly more expensive and inferior experience. The people who are prone to making this mistake are also prone to doing other stupid things like spending $3 on a Street Fighter character skin. So yes, console gamers tend to be the retards of gaming, mostly through self selection.

Give me a 15" 4:5 monitor, a ball mouse and some speakers and I'd still bet $100 I'd whip the shit out of you. In fact I could probably gauruntee it.

When I'm running my xbox out of a little standard def TV and whipping the shit out of the kid with some sweet turtle beach headset playing off a 42" TV what's the excuse gonna be?

THERES NO BALANCE IN CONSOLE GAMING, wAH!!!!!

You already know what clay is going to say. "Thats your opinionz!" :D:D:D

I have it on PC, played it on my friends ps3 one day.

Didn't like it as much, mainly cause its harder to get headshots and aim in general. Mouse and keyboard rules for this type of game. Plus the online community for the PC version is pretty strong, never have problems finding servers.

PC all the way for me. Some people i know say its better on 360...but i think they are nuts.

PC obviously

PC the graphics are so much better that I don't like playing on 360 anymore.

and of course mouse and keyboard.

first time here lol? pc for fps is always better... there might be more console players for crap like mw2 but that doesnt make it right..

There seem to be more people online on the PC side vs. the PS3 side too.

Having never played the 360 or ps3 version, I can confidently say that the pc version is the best version for this game.

It's a FPS.

'nuff said.

it's a computer forum, of coarse all you are gonna hear in PC..

PC by far. The console copy of BC2 is dumbed down btw. Weapon dmg is different.

Comparing the gameplay of pc vs. console version is like night and day.

on the console the gameplay is a lot slower, not as many players. people's aiming is hindered because of the controller, especially at extreme distances. and i watch my roomate play and im always thinking "wtf get behind cover, you'll be stone dead on pc version if you stand in that obvious of a spot."

if you like a slower paced game, get the ps3 version, if you like a faster type, go for pc.

but seriously, its fps, get it for PC.

32 players on the PC >> 24 players on the console. These are giant maps, it's a noticeable difference.

PC > 360 > PS3

mmmhmmm

turtle beach is shit, your better off getting a monster surround system, a 40"+ HDTV doesn't cost much these days.

why would i spend a ton of money on something i can get for just $300, and i don't buy any DLC since it is a waste of money like you are hinting, hey if xbox live didn't have fees it would end up like the PlaystationNetwork.

Remember, don't feed the trolls people.

Clay is obviously an XBox 360 fanboy with his arguments that console gaming is better than PC gaming holding about as much water as a rusted through bucket.

Seeing your ignorance on my screen makes my blood boil, but you're just trying to start shit, so I'm not going to waste my time debating the merits of a modern PC over a console with 5+ year old tech since clearly you aren't going to listen to the facts. So instead of wasting everyone's time why don't you go outside, get some fresh air, and go play at the local playground with the other kiddies, eh?

We all know here at [H] that capable gaming PCs are the obvious choice and the premier platform, so you aren't fooling anyone with your rhetoric fanboy drivel.

In the end, I digress, it's all about the games.

I'm no fanboy, I have everything from top of the line gaming PC to the Wii, but I happen to also HATE playing a video game sitting at desk after I get home from work were I sit at a desk all day. Also think the keyboard and mouse is antiquated and like having a game were all of my controls are simplified in a few easy to reach buttons.

Of course you are going to have more accuracy with a mouse and keyboard; but have you ever thought that it takes more skill to be good with the thumbsticks, which is why most of you "can't stand it". I went through the pain of the transition and now I enjoy playing any game more on my couch in from of my 55' television? Your on a level playing field for the most part so you can't get an advantage from the equipment you spend hundreds on.

I can't hear a teammates call, spin around and hs a guy somewhere and than jump, duck behind cover, spin again and get somebody else somewhere, rocket jump/strafe jump to a strategic position, or look away at the blink of an eye when you a see flash grenade. You don't see super quick twitch hs's, or amazing in air rocket kills.

Ummm...you would love halo if you like unrealistic shit.

NEWS FLASH...when most people play a video game they are being lazy, the last thing they want to do is sit at a desk leaned over a keyboard and mouse...they also aren't going to look at the screen so they can see how detailed Gordan Freeman's nut sack is. You also underestimate the sheer technical knowledge that is needed to be a PC gamer and work through the problems associated with it, and don't start the "Its easy crap". Its easy for you and 99% of the posters on this board, that is why we are here. It may cost less but it is way more of a pain in the ass than buying a console and playing.

Tell that to THE ENTIRE country of South Korea. You would start a nuclear war if you took PCs and StarCraft away from them.

PCs for life, PCs forever! Dont tread on me.
