BF 2142 Beta Out

Says my key is invalid, and it'll probably be days before EA support responds to me...

Yeah and why would they care baout beta support anyway? It's not like they are making any money off of you.

I just installed the game lol. No modding at all I swear it!

It is sad that I really, truly think POE2 will be MUCH better than 2142 EVER will. Same old damn bugs.
 
I like the new menu. And also how you can change a key, and not have to open it up first. The customizations look cool, but you cant change anything. Customizing the huds, and other aspects of the game are good. You can tell thats one of their focus points. And my AT isnt there, or Im blind. I took a lot of screen shots.. looks pretty good. Like BF2, but in the future, obviously.

Seeing a titan move is pretty cool. Very hard to take down right now, as Im still learning. The new tanks also look good, and control pretty well.

I got the key working, too bad all I get is a black screen when I start it up...
 
Dude, I'm not impressed with the visuals. :( I know it's still the BF2 engine but it doesn't look like they did ANYTHING to it.
 
Does it look at all like they might have addressed that infamous red/blue wrong teammate nametag bug that (to the best of my knowledge) is still showing up in BF2?
 
I'm saying this as a BF2 fan, that looks horrible :( It looks like they took a BF2 map (that map looks a LOT like Dragon Valley) and added some futuristic armor & weapons...
 
IT should be about gameplay really, because there is nothing else out there that has the variability of BF2 when it comes to FPS and this could improve on that variability and hopefully stability.

Is it still under NDA? I just got in the beta so I'll talk about this "other" game called "Shmattlefield 2010402".

It is total crap. In terms of how BF Vietnam was compared to BF1942, this is even more of a mod. BFV was almost a full game. This is just BF2 mod set in the future. I believe even BF2 !!!!!!s will be dissapointed.

I though I'd like the futuristic theme... I was a diehard Tribes player. Well they have just lost one sale...

Ugh. I'll play the demo and see. Looks friigin' pretty lame.

This game truly looks like crap. EA just being greedy again by making more crap games without fixing their previous ones with patches.
 
the map they give you to play in the beta is pretty decent, and its nothing like dragon valley.

it wont be ready for a fall release thats for sure.

EA doesn't care if it's ready or not. Look at all the bugs still in BF2...and it's been out for HOW LONG???? with some of the original bugs not even fixed....

I like the idea behind the mech's and such, but I won't support EA any longer. I sold my copy of BF2 a while ago and I'm glad to see it gone.
 
oh my god shut up about the "bugs" I play battlefield 2 almost everyday and the game works plenty fine for me. It only crashes every now and then, but thats nothing for a hardcore gamer like me to bitch about. jesus.
 
I see, so in the future everything will look exacly the same as it does now except with no curves, only angles and boxes, honestly this is one of the worst "visual upgrades" i've ever seen.

and as far as BF2142....Welcome to the LAgfest...No thanks...

and as far as not being able to join those servers..just join the Test Servers...and yes I know..they are always full....but the ones that give you the shit about Differeent Version...its just that way...prolly a new Build on those servers...or a Punkbuster Issue...
 
I played a little of 2142 and I like it a lot. I'm still trying to figure the game out and such. The gameplay is obviously very similar to bf2, but with the titan mode, its different enouth to make it worth while. At least ea is releasing a beta first off to get more bugs out of 2142 than doing nothing with bf2 and patching the crap out of it during release over a 1+ year period. The unlocks look sweet and the customization will make the game more interesing as you acheive them. There is more than just new guns which is cool. I just hope that the final version of 2142 is different enough that I will still want to go back and play bf2 cause I like that game a lot. Otherwise, i'll probbably get stuck on 2142 cause its the "new thing" and bf2 is "old" and i won't want to play it anymore. Anyways, we'll see how it goes.
