Battlefield 3 General Discussion Thread

I heard they are not taking corrective action against people who use the VPN method to unlock, only people who disseminate and/or mention or perpetuate its existence on forums devoted to high-end PC gaming and hardware.

Also I heard they are notifying the employers and/or calling the parents of people who leave work early for the purpose of unlocking the game early. Your wages WILL be garnished.

for those of you who are playing, does the key binding (of mouse buttons in particular) actually work now?? In the beta it was completely fuct

Have you tried launching the game to see if it works now?
 
I got the same email from Origin saying BF3 is supposed to be out today yet the activation release date checker still fails and shows tomorrow at 0200 hours as the release time.
 
I run triple monitors and cannot seem to see friendly tags (in HC or regular modes) unless in my squad and even then they sometimes do not show up. If I take the resolution back down to 1080p to just use one monitor, I cannot see the HUD at all.


Anyone else having this issue?
 
Sigh. Really laggy, new drivers suck monkey balls(Nvidia, my GPU usage randomly goes from 99% to 54% which results in a stupid lag spike) and Asians are somehow getting better pings than me and going 30-1.
 
Opened up Origin, and I now have BC2 in my games? Did they just decide to give me this game? I've already had three copies of it, and will play on steam anyways. Not using Origin except for BF3 because I have to.

And I have no such email. One more day is no biggie, I can wait.
 
You guys who are getting the bad log didn't forget to turn off the Korean proxy did you? (I would suggest restarting Origin once it is turned off)
 
I'm going to be feeling paranoid and looking over my shoulder for a while for having done this little proxy trick.

Most reviews aren't overjoyed by the SP+5hrs is a nonsense especially when they claimed extra focus on SP.
You sound both uninformed and intolerant of opposing viewpoints.

The "extra focus" was the fact that they bothered with SP at all. ;)

5hr campaigns are a nonsense.....especially this one with it's set piece nature and QTE's to boot.

Again, nobody who plays the game regularly gives a shit about sp. I never finished bc2 sp either.

Maybe I'm reading into it but the fact they did that MIGHT confirm the concept that so many people did that trick that EA said "aw well, what the hell."
 
Just got an e-mail from Origin saying the release date has been changed....to 10/24. :D Damn, shouldn't have scheduled that date tonight to take my mind off the release date...

Thinking the same, Quicker people get a hold of it, quicker they can find problems and start fixing them. At this point whats the sense in making people wait longer.
