waste of cash?it's playing ALOT smoother for me now then it did at launch. I've had the game crash to desktop twice, but might be my OC's. Still super disappointed in the game, but conquest has been fun even with all the missing features. Breakthrough used to be my favorite game mode and with 128 players its just not fun anymore
What I'm asking for will require a game redesign. Not being able to connect to the nearest server and coding to be compatible with consoles impacts performance. You could be playing on California or European servers and live in New York. That info is hidden from you. I don't think the ping numbers are accurate.I disabled crossplay, didn't make a difference. also, fortnite uses 30 tick server and I've never had lag.
I’ve had a ton of crashes on my Ryzen system but none on my Intel system. Enabling dx12 in the config file seems to have helped. Many have said there’s a memory leak and enabling dx12 seems to help it out some. I have double the ram in my Intel system so maybe it just hangs on for a little longer.it's playing ALOT smoother for me now then it did at launch. took me about 9 mins ago, to realize I was missing some UI feature in the crosshairs......Took me about 12hrs to realize the crosshairs indicate your fire mode lol
You can bring up team chat and communicate with your team, but even so organizing something like that would be next to impossible in a game of this size (goes for all battlefields in my opinion). Many people don’t care to be organized and just want to run and gun (I’m not criticizing this..it’s their $60 they can do as they want). Organizing in smaller games like Siege (which has built-in voip) is much easier, and is intended.I wish there were a way to communicate "everybody rush in". There's so many situations where the enemy has a defense inside of a building and my team just camps outside of the building afraid to go in. Or worse yet, people go in one by one and get picked off. I want to see an Omaha beach style strategy where all of us just rush in simultaneously.
There's no turning this around. Maybe, eventually, in 1-2 years, they make break Portal off and just offer people the ability to play the old games, and that will draw players in. That's the best-case scenario, I think.43rd place on twitch with about 10k viewers. That has to be extremely disappointing for a brand new high-profile tripleA high budget title in a well known and previously beloved franchise.
Twitch viewership numbers tend to have a high correlation with playerbase counts of the game. I hope they can turn it around but in this day and age with free MP shooters providing high quality gameplay it's going to be an uphill battle.
No server browser for the main mode. No real servers with a good ping or player count for Portal. Gun animations suck, at least for the Portal guns. Even the bullet casings kind of just fall out the side like a bad ArmA gun mod. Whole menu system is terrible. Kicks you out of the server after round end, throws you back into match making. I can't even pick the map I want to play if I want to try a new map. Doesn't seem like it shows ping. Every game I got it had bad lag. Not low frame rates, bad lag. Match maker must be putting me in with people faraway, or no one is playing this game and I'd lumped in with people around the globe or something. The run vs fast spring is practically zero difference in terms of speed and bringing back weapon sights. It makes the whole system pointless. I know they tried to rip off MW 2019, but they failed big time there. MW2019 elevated CoD to a new level. 2042 dumbs BF down to a level far below that.
The whole human interfacing with this game is horrible. GUI, animations. Hard to get a feel of the gameplay itself, but so much is just wrong I'm not sure if I can get into it. I thoroughly didn't like BF5 but that seemed polished and well thought out compared to this. And that is saying something.
on steam charts, the game peaked at 100k players and quickly dropped to 50-60k and has been holding steady there. if this game had a BR, it would be in the top, people just don't want to watch games that involve respawning. it was top on twitch for a few days, like BF5 was.43rd place on twitch with about 10k viewers. The Frostbite engine is flawed at it core when it comes to action. The engine allows for huge maps to be developed with detail, vehicles and destruction. The issues happen when objects/players begin to interact with the environments. Even in BF4 today, there are times when I'll see 4-5 enemy players bunched together, I have the jump on them, empty the entire mag and only kill 1-2 of them. Separate them and the hit reg is fine, but close together the engine doesn't know how to assign damage so many rounds don't register. That's the only flaw in BF4 I can see at times.the rubber banding was definitely better yesterday, but the hit reg still sucks. I can be dead on target with the pump shotgun and its like I'm shooting blanks half the time.

We always ask why DICE seem to start all over every game. I think every time DICE creates a new game, they have to deal with the shortcomings of the engine each time once live players are dropped into the maps. I'm assuming they can only fix the bugs for that game, fixes can't carry over. Every EA game has fallen short since using the Frostbite engine and it needs to be retired.
Here's JackFrags showing the same issue in 2042 (post recent patch). Dice can't get rid of it:
i think you be mostly ok on the portal side and using the server browser to pick matches, even if its the newer maps you want to play. its very quick doing it this wayI think I wasted my money on this. "Waiting for players to join". Yes sometimes I get into a server. Most of the time it just makes you sit there for what seems like eternity. What happened to looking for a server and joining? Why the fuck does it feel like it needs to "find players"? Unless everyone stopped playing, there should at least be a few thousand people online. All you hear are these retards and their cheesy lines. Even more funny is when the old grandma (old people in the infantry is dumb enough) says a cheesy line, and then it switches to the next "player" who played the same character so you get to see this character speak another cheesy line twice in a row.
Its so hard to figure out how to upgrade your guns, the interface is so slow and utter shit. I don't give two fucks about the ghetto trash black woman with tattoos on her face, her lines, or customizing her stupid face. I want to change my weapon and vehicle setups. And I want to use them in combat. Not wait in a lobby for 15-20 minutes while this shit game finds players. Hell, they even added bots and the game can't figure out how to do a proper offline with bots mode. Would be better than what we currently have which is nothing but menu watching.
What a shit game. They should just pull this shit from sale, refund everyone, and if they ever fix it release it. CD Projekt showed us they could accept refunds. Time to step up EA.
PS: Hire an English translator you cheap fucks. "Options" or "Settings" is not that same thing as "Accessibility".
The 2700x struggles in this game. HUB just did a CPU comparison and it didnt do well at all. It’s a next Gen game on next Gen consoles which have 8 cores. Beyond that, BF has never been kind on CPUs. really shouldn’t have been surprising.View attachment 416877
lol the light cpu usage
So the game is a real benchmark for testing the OC of the processor, the same was the case with Battlefield 1... if your game doesn't crash in MP then your cpu is 99% stableView attachment 416877

will be getting a 5900 or better soon enough ...but honestly the 3d ones is what i really want I have never seen a game with such high of usage on a 16 threaded cpu until nowTo be fair, the 2700x was never a powerhouse for gaming. It's well worth updating to a 3700x or 3900x even if only for the serious single-core gains, or a 5800x/5900x if your board supports it. getting a 5900
I came close to pulling the trigger on a 5900x when it was discounted some on Amazon but held off for the 3d ones as well. 3900x isn't exactly struggling just yet.will be getting a 5900 or better soon enough ...but honestly the 3d ones is what i really want I have never seen a game with such high of usage on a 16 threaded cpu until now
I thoroughly agree. Clearly the engine needs to be rebuilt because how they can have the same exact issues over and over without any resolution or, even worse, starting at square one every damn game, is absolutely ridiculous. The Frostbite engine is flawed at it core when it comes to action.
