Holy shit balls!

Edit: troll post? Game is still available to buy on steam.

They've posted it on their forums too. Maybe it hasn't taken affect on Steam yet (I can't test buy it since I already have it, and it's running fine on my lower spec rig with a GTX 660 SLI configuration).

Fucking christ. I can't even play this fucking thing. Just completed the setup about an hour ago. Launched the game. And it crashed 3 times already in 1 hour.

WTF were they thinking when they approved the release date? Bunch of idiots!

Really pissed off right now. I thought I could adjust the settings and be ok. But the game crashes on me.

btw, I'm using a 290x with the beta 15.6 drivers.

What a debacle.

FWIW I'm enjoying the game (the actual gameplay is fucking amazeballs) but only because I'm not using the interactive smoke or "paper effects." With those turned it can't even maintain 30fps. However, with those off, I can actually maintain a solid 144fps most of the time with my lowly 780 Ti, even at 2560x1440. The catch is that there is horrendous stuttering while moving around the city. The game appears to use the 30fps cap to use background threads to stream; uncapping the framerate shows us this streaming in full ugliness.

Lastly the missing graphical effects (mainly SSAO and rain droplets on surfaces) is the shit icing on the shit cake. I have the game on PS4 as well and the game looks dramatically better because of those effects, GameWorks or not.

Hopefully devs will (once again) learn that shoddy ports are not acceptable.

Played a bit more. The story is definitely interesting and gameplay is very good. I like the batmobile assisted takedowns as well. Fear takedown was sooo needed and love it. Enjoying the fuck out of this game.

However, graphics issues still remain. Thank God for 144 Hz monitor. I can turn off vsync in game and still get no stuttering since frames are around 45-70 fps in most locations. Max graphics at 1440P. Game stutters when either running around in batmobile tearing up the streets or flying from one edge of the map to the other edge. But it is very little stutter, nothing that completely breaks the game.

I am going to continue playing since the game is just dope. I am hoping for some quick resolution on performance and then we are golden. The PhysX effects are awesome btw. The smoke is just too good. Playing game without it is nonsensical especially when you get to ACE chemicals :D.

You know, the system requirements listed a need for 55GB of hard drive space, I'm only using about 35... Wonder how much that has to do with some of these issues. Did the developers from Dead Island who allowed a development version of that game got live on Steam at release go to work on Arkham Knight?

this is one of the biggest PC release disasters I've ever seen...Steam has now pulled the game...GMG is offering refunds...Rocksteady's temporary fix is to disable most advanced graphics settings which is ridiculous...and Digital Foundry has found that the PC version is missing key features present in the PS4 version...total disaster much worse then Ubisoft's AC: Unity release

so what is WB saying?...that they have stopped sales and will be releasing a new version of the game in the future?...how the hell did this game make it past Quality Control?...after multiple delays this is what they release?...this is right up there with Daikatana

They didn't say anything about a new version. They just said it's removed from sale until they fix it.

Awaits incessant bitching about how everyone who got the game early spoiled it for late comers. LAWLS!

Batman dies in this one. I called it.

Well, they could start by reversing their jewing of Nvidia code redeemers and putting the Harley Quinn DLC back in their libraries.

those who redeemed Nvidia codes don't get the Harley Quinn DLC??

is it too late for Rocksteady to take back control and fix the game??...are the issues even fixable without a near complete do-over...looking at screenshots and videos the game looks really good and really bad at the same time...the rain and lighting look amazing while character models and shadows look bad...why is this game lacking a lot of the advanced graphics options of previous Arkham games like multiple AA options?...it's basically the same engine...why is there a framerate lock if the in-game benchmark goes up to 60fps?

Unprecedented.

On a game that size yes but it is worth mentioning postal 3 which was so badly done running with scissors doesn't list it on their website and you can't buy it in the US(at least you couldn't). And that is saying something as they sell the postal movie on their website.

First you have to remember what happened with the last game.

WB will patch the game some to try and get it out of the bad press. It will still be broken but they will not care and focus on DLC like last time.

For those who purchased from CDKeys.com - I recently got a message that said the following...

"
Hello,
As you may already be aware there have been issues with both versions of Batman Arkham Knight PC which have affected a number of retailers whereby the Harley Quinn Story Pack DLC wasn't included within the base game.We are pleased to inform you that this issue has now been corrected and an additional code for Harley Quinn Story Pack DLC has been added to your order. Please refer to the download link in your confirmation email or the 'My Downloads' section of your account page if you have an account with us in order to view the code. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and apologise profusely for this element of the game not being useable at the time of release. I can also confirm that the 'New 52 Skins Pack' DLC that wasn't scheduled to be included with this offer will remain on your Steam account."

Sure enough, going to the download link provided a Steam key which activated the Harley Quinn Story campaign (it has an additional download, but not a very large one). Good on CDKeys to have such a discount and also go out of their way to pull this off. Not sure if they, like Green Man Gaming, will be offering refunds as of yet but this was a nice touch making me more confident in their business.

Its pretty amazing that Arkham Knight is not selling on Steam...I wonder what sort of remediation will take place. The cynic in me however wonders if this isn't a tactic to eliminate all those negative reviews, if a "new version" of the game is put up and gets to "start from scratch", but there's no evidence of this at the moment. We shall see what happens as time continues.

I know a lot of us are having issue with this game, and I did too in the beginning, but it's running brilliantly now for me, and the game is damn fantastic, barring some of the stuttering that comes up every now and then. They should have done this right from the beginning, and they wouldn't have had these issues that they're now facing. Really sad to see a great game marred by this side show shit...unacceptable really.

Nice! Just need the devs to fix this BS port so I can enjoy it. I'll be damned if this on isn't a win for the consoles.
