If its true then that should help quite a bit with backlight bleed and panel uniformityIve seen a australian guy from asus explaining that the panel will feature full array backled. Do you guys think this is true? Isnt that technology very expensive?
Here's the video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdlSY4youIQ&playnext=1&list=PL1FBB325EFD454FB9&feature=results_video
The comment about the full array backled is @ 0:35
Win!!!
Full array tipically means that the LEDs are behind the LCD and not on the sides.I'd figure the full array would refer to simply having more leds on all sides rather than having per pixel leds. But that's just my guess.
I'm holding out for a proper TFT Central review on one before I make my decision. It does not use full array LED back-lighting. Only high end LCD TV's have full array LED back-lighting, people, be realistic. You can't seriously think even for a second that the CHEAPEST 2560x1440 display yet has fancier back-lighting than the rest...and these will have back-light bleeding
Manufacturer provided response times don't mean anything, in reality most IPS panels are way faster than 5ms TN's since they usually don't have proper over drive while IPS panels do. The recent 2560x1440 IPS compete with the best 60hz TN's in terms of actual measured pixel response times. 60hz is only an issue if you want a 120hz-144hz TN or are upgrading from a high hz CRT.
Neither Linus's video or the Aussi AsusROG video are reviews, they are paid advertising.
This is the only totally dark room example I've seen yet... and take this with a huge grain of salt since it's an Asus demonstration of 3-panel gameplay.Does anyone have a picture of this panel in a dark room with 80 to 100% brightness on a black background?
TFTCentral reviewed Viewsonic's 27" WQHD PLS: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/viewsonic_vp2770-led.htm and the 26ms input lag is very off-putting. Hopefully Asus keeps it low for the PB278Q.
Hasn't even been shipped out in the US yet...Anyone picked it up allready?
Even the S27B970D suffers from backled bleeding. And it cost wayyyy more.
My wife may kill me, but I just ordered a PB278Q off of Amazon for Saturday delivery. They had one left in stock and I grabbed it without thinking. I have a U2412M I purchased two weeks ago and the AG coating slightly bothers me when working in Word or coding. If this one looks better, the U2412M will be going back. I'll post some backlight bleed pictures once I have a chance to set it up.
You sure you getting yours Tomorrow? Did you chose 1 day delivery?
The One Day Delivery - Saturday was available for $8.99. I decided may as well since I was already spending $700.
